Right now it's 75 and sunny, and the great weather is supposed to continue through the weekend. I'm hoping for lots of outside time, maybe a trip to my parents' neighborhood beach. My cousin is turing 40, so her sisters are planning a parade, so hoping to make it to that. I'm planning on taking a very long walk or 2.
Maybe some cooking, maybe some takeout, hopefully a fire at some point. Probably some screaming matches with DD1 since that hasn't really let up as long as she is here with us. The only peace we get is when she goes to my parents' house.

It's a weekend with beau. It's supposed to rain, so I'm not sure what we're going to do. We had talked about riding in the mountains (him on his dirt bike, me on his four wheeler). Probably a pretty lazy weekend.
I did some work this morning, had lunch and have now moved onto rage cleaning. Yelled at the kid’s to take the recycle out because they were protesting and jostling for the better recycle, eye roll.
They played outside after it rained yesterday, so I sent them to shower after muddying my living room carpet. DH yelled for them to come in so I couldn’t prepare, and I didn’t know they were muddy. Now I have to wash my bathroom rug and shower curtain and the cat peed in my downstairs rug so I have to wash both of those. Rage.
I want to be the fun carefree mom go play in the mud, but not if I have to wash 1500 things because of it. I need an outdoor shower apparently but you know cold climate not near a beach.
Also we are doing house stuff since we cancelled our vacations and are at home all day but everything is so expensive. I’m getting over our red crushed gravel patio because we constantly track it in but a nice patio would be $$$. We need to do our retaining wall which is $$$. We got all our screens repaired and still need to repair windows. The basement looks crappy. We still need to fix our cracked sink but they can’t. So we need all new countertops and sink. We have a dead tree on our property. Oh wise working mom which is the highest priority? DH wants to do the retaining wall.
Oh and we still need to add a bathroom, but we won’t be able to do that until next year- just add it to the list. I am PMSing can you tell. Actually I’ve been crabby a lot lately. Maybe need to start exercising again. We are going back to work in person June 1, and partly will be good and partly crappy, and this terrible virus will not go die and leave mankind alone.
I just took a break to draw with my kids so we can enter the family coloring contest at work. Helped me clear my head a little. It was fun! Check out the Kids Art Hub Youtube channel for directed drawing videos. They're great and really easy.
Tonight I'll clean the house and just relax. Planning to finally watch the Michelle Obama Netflix documentary while drinking a glass of wine and eating dinner alone in a clean, empty house. Can't wait.
Tomorrow I'm breaking my strict rules about social distancing. One of my best friends lives in the city near me and is having a really, really tough time right now with everything. She had some personal stuff going on already and it coinciding with this mess is not a good combo. I'm going to go pick her up and bring her back here to the suburbs where we can sit in my yard and chat and drink wine and eat snacks. Her mental health needs it and we've both been locked down for weeks and weeks with no real exposure to anyone else. She has no car or way to get here, so I have to go pick her up in my car, which means social distancing is out the window. But I think at this point it will be worth it to give her the boost she needs and I'm just doing it. I talked it over with beau and he agrees and is fine with it.
Also discovered that I need to lay off the baking and eating like crap during quarantine life. I legit took a pregnancy test today, even though I have an IUD, because my pants are getting too tight, I'm super bloated, and I've been so exhausted. Turns out, I'm just gaining weight from eating junk and tired from the shit show that is quarantine life. Not pregnant. Thank God.
Since DD and DS1 finished their school work by 10am, we packed some food and had a picnic at a local park. We even went for a walk in the creek. The water was so cold, but it felt so nice for our first 80 degree day of the year! I just finished my workout and will now get some work done until dinner. No big plans for the rest of the weekend. We're going to attempt to skim coat the one wall in our living room that has a weird texture on it. The rest of the room has already been painted weeks ago. We wanted to hire someone to do it for us and then Covid happened. Since there is no where to go, we thought we'd give it a try. I also have to get down to my office and pack up some things to get ready for our move across the hall.
Even though our county went yellow today (which means some retail stores can open with precautions), the city just announced that pools and spray parks will be closed for the summer. Also, a lot communities are cancelling 4th of July activities, including fireworks. I'm really bummed. It's one of my favorite holidays and I feel robbed that it won't happen this year. Stupid virus! You can go away now!
I'm in WI and it's a shit show here. The Supreme Court overturned the SAH Order so some businesses re-opened for less than a day because the counties are each placing their own emergency orders. We are going to continue as we have been for the next couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see if we have any spikes. polecat8, our pools and fireworks for the 4th of July have already been canceled here.
We are slowly opening our circle to our next door neighbors so DD1 and DD2 have been playing outside all day with their daughter. The smiles on their faces are priceless! DD1 woke up and immediately did all of her school work so she could play with her friend today. We have been so much more productive being able to work too.
Tomorrow, we are going to go visit my parents outside from a distance. We haven't seen them in 6 weeks so really looking forward to it. They live right by a nature park so we will go for a hike too. Sunday will be spent relaxing and catching up on housework from the week.

We plan on assembling patio furniture and finish painting the deck. Also try to put together the trampoline. DH and I have tried a few times but are getting nowhere; so I think we might have to hire someone, despite DH's pride. My parents are also picking up their bikes today, so we'll go for a bike ride with them at some point over the weekend. It should be awesome.
DH is in a very good mood as he got the job he was interviewing for. It's only a 6 months contract, but hey, in this environment, we'll take it!
Tonight I am hoping to deliver some graduation cards/gifts. I want to see my friends, however, I think any social distancing has been out the window for this group. So we will see if I just drop and run, or can stay and chat for a bit from a distance without someone up in my business.
Tomorrow, I plan on painting the plant stands that DS build me for mother's day.
Sunday mom has decided she is going to cook the Easter dinner she wasn't able to cook and bring it to us in to go containers. Sounds great to me. I have to run in the store at some point because I screwed up my grocery order.
It's going to be raining, boo, so I hope to get my runs in at some point and get outside.

I spent the afternoon cooking 9lbs of sausage and putting a pork shoulder in the crock pot. MILs freezer was left open and we still had quite a bit of pork left in there. Thankfully it was still really cold and just not frozen. The kids and I got Chinese take out for dinner since I cooked all day and DH is at work.
Tomorrow will be spent catching up on laundry, cleaning and such. Nothing in the plans.
Sunday DH works so the kids and I are on our own. My mom might come up but I'm not sure how I feel about her coming over. Its her choice since she is the one most at risk.
My sister is hosting a brief baby sprinkle for me tomorrow afternoon. I requested no gifts (we need nothing for baby #4) and I mailed everyone some fancy candy for all of us to enjoy together virtually. Of the attendees (8 of my good friends who live all over the place), we only told my sister and DH’s sister about the baby arriving already. So my sister decided to have people guess the baby’s due date and weight tomorrow as a game and then have me be like ‘surprise, here’s the baby!’ I think it should be fun to introduce him that way.
I’ll probably end up doing the sprinkle from the hospital. We should be able to leave tomorrow if baby passes all his newborn tests, but we probably won’t have all results back in time to get home for the midday sprinkle.
Did i tell you guys that my two friends who really rallied me when I needed it, they surprised me...they said we were going on a hike on wednesday. Instead, we walked a quarter mile and they turned off the path and spread out (on a giant rock) a big bottle of wine, cheese crackers and pepperoni and chocolate. I cried.
We are getting together (distanced) tomorrow night around a campfire.
Picked up my new bike (and helmet) yesterday and did a ride with DD. In her words “I’ve been waiting my whole life for this!” And we did fondue after dinner, so that was definitely a plus.
DD and I are going on a hike today. I’ve been staying away from trails, but I’m willing to take the minimal risk at this point. We have a VERY short trail (like.. up down and done in 3 minutes short) by our house, and I swear that just feeling dirt under my shoes improves my mood, so I’m hoping a real hike helps. (It will still be shortish since DD’s stamina is good, but she’s still 7.)
DH has a social distancing play date tomorrow with one of his friends and his husband. His friend is just a great person in general and hysterical, so I’m anticipating an an workout from laughter.

Pretty quiet weekend here. Biking riding, walking around, cleaning, laundry. Tomorrow I hope to have enough housework and work-work done to be able to spend most of the day by the pool.
I’m roasting a chicken for supper now and H brought me flowers when he made a foray out to the grocery earlier. Those are the highlights. He’s the best.

k3am, there is a shortage of bikes around here. I thought I might ride with my girls (instead of walking behind them with the dog) but I can’t find an adult size bike to save my life. Glad you got your hands on one!
librarychica, we've gotten two new bikes so far during lockdown. DD's was easier (they had two in stock), mine had to be ordered in advance, but it was only about a one week lead time. next on the list is DH.. we're going to be bike rich.
The shortage is definitely real. I kind of like it. Normally I'd have to research 87 different options, debate over colors, etc. This time, it was "we have these two cruisers that you'd fit" and once we narrowed it down to which bike, I had a choice of 1 color or no bike.
It was also the motivation to clean out the garage.. In anticipation of new bikes, I got rid of a tricycle, a 12" bike, a 14" bike, a balance bike, and a stroller. I still have one more stroller to get rid of, but I'm going to keep our jogger one more year because who doesn't like pushing around a 4 year old on long walks and runs?

We are going to get a basic one to share (H and I are only 4 inches apart in height) and then we figure if are using it in 6 months to a year there’ll be some really nice bikes on Craigslist by then. 🤣
I spent hours cleaning out our screen porch today. It was starting to look very Sanford-and-son out there. Threw away a ton, got a few cabinets to keep our grilling stuff and outdoor toys. It’s always filthy after the winter so I spent a lot of time scrubbing and vacuuming, and after hours, I still wasn’t done.
So tomorrow I will finish and then I will tackle the garage, which is gross because the contractor was working out there while finishing the kitchen. Super fun weekend!!
mae0111- it may not be “fun”, but doesn’t it feel great when a big job like that is done? Congrats!
Yesterday it rained like we would need an ark. It was insane. Our birthday party was moved to today. I don’t have any other plans today but I may try to declutter all the crap that’s building up.
I don’t even recognize quarantine me. I never ever bake maybe 1 time a year.
So far in quarantine I’ve baked brownies, banana bread, cinnamon rolls which were better than DH’s, and oven/ Campfire s’mores. We are doing them in the oven because it’s raining outside.
Future projects are granola, and strawberry milkshakes (possibly boozy but I haven’t bought any booze).
Oh and I made a cucumber salad. DH is doing most of the cooking so maybe that’s part of it.
