I have to go back to work in my office on Wednesday. Not excited about getting up before 7 am! I’m ok with it, though. I’m slightly annoyed that someone commented that they weren’t sure if I was ever going to come back to the office. Guess what? You said we could work remotely and that’s what I’ve been doing- for 40+ hours each week and I have the receipts. I shouldn’t let it bug me, but this was on the heels of a different annoying thing that had just happened during a Zoom meeting. At least I’ll be in my office with the door closed, as my chair is less than 6 feet from my office door. No one can barge in and bug me!!
I would be pissed too! My colleague and I were venting the other day and then they made a comment "I know what everyone does except X" I understand where they were coming from in that our vent came from why is this person sending the two of us MORE work, are they passing off work when we're drowning, but don't sit and wonder or speculate what others are doing all day. Now I'm super self conscious if I appear to be doing enough work when I'm putting in OT and skipping lunch etc. I talk to my counselor about this every time, but their techniques just can't shake it.
And to your point, I've been arguing that I get more done at home than I do in the office where I also don't have 6 feet social distance space. I hope today is better for you.
I really dislike that she looks only at the risk/benefit to *your particular family.* It is so narcissistic. She didn't even bother to include what risk/benefit her decision poses to her own nanny - a person you'd think she gave a damn about (I don't think it would have changed her answer since she's probably the type who wouldn't have paid her nanny unless she was working, but it's telling about her self centered myopia).
If you follow her reasoning, the kids of a lawyer and a banking VP who get to shelter at home have a better argument for spending everyday with their 6 best lacrosse friends than the toddlers of a grocery store clerk for spending a single afternoon with grandma when their single mom has something she needs to do that would be best without them, but could technically bring them to. Every decision has ripple effects. If everyone takes little risks just for fun, it collectively raises everyone's risk level and makes it harder for others with greater needs (even if they have greater risk) to do what they have to.
Any risk/benefit analysis that doesn't include the external greater cost/benefit equation is bullshit. They are usually used to justify things that just aren't that important because the actor feels they are personally at low risk. By her reasoning, no one should bother with a mask - they are mildly annoying for me and I don't even get the benefit. Fuck it. (ETA: I'm leaving that last sentence because that sums up my addled brain)
What are you even talking about?
Lol! OMG! I must have been loopy last night.
I had a completely different article open, that I thought was this link (Someone had sent it to me and I'd opened it, but hadn't read it. Came here, read your post and thought I went to that link and then wrote a completely incongruous response. When I first saw this I was all ready to pull quotes - and then the link was obviously something completely different from what I read.
I'm so glad you called me out. This gave me such a laugh.
Madison Reed, I tried 2 different colors 1 for stubborn grays and not much coverage. I will check them out.
Oh no!!! I am waiting on a delivery from them! I have A LOT of gray. I hope it works.
Oh, good luck. My gray is very stubborn, ive had this issue in the past. Some people seem to have good luck with them. Let me know. It took forever for it to get delivered.

I will report back. Yeah, it’s taking a long time. I’ll probably be able to go back to the salon by the time it gets here lol.
