3. Returning to work June 1, 3-4 days a week for 4 hour shifts.
4. No plans. We tried to cancel our July vacation but they wouldn't give us our money back so waiting on that. Waiting to hear on sleep away camp (rolling cancellations 5 weeks out).
5. Planning on no summer camp, hiring a babysitter.
6. No changes to work. Hours will probably ramp up, but I am working 80% hours anyway.
Camps canceled so far: Girl Scouts, Bike camp.
Camps open I think: Camp at the school (they don't like this one).
Camps waiting to hear on: Sleep away and Park district camp. Possible delayed starts but preparing to be canceled anyway since we have the babysitter.
1. How is everyone's health? I'm starting to feel better finally! Everyone else is healthy.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? I'm working from home for another three weeks. I may go in for half day one day a week.
3. Are you returning to work in person? Yes, my work is having everyone return to the office full time next week. I will go back in three weeks when summer camp starts.
4. What are your plans for the summer? We have a house rented and flights booked to SC in August and are still planning on going, for now....
5. What are your childcare plans if any? Y Camp
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? No changes. We haven't seen a slow down yet since our contracts are signed and go out for a year.
1. How is everyone's health? Dealing with postpartum sciatica/herniated disk. Otherwise we’re all good. It’s a relief to have baby here safe - I had a lot of stress around that.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? I expect that DH and I have the ability to work from home as long as we’d like. I won’t be going back in person till at least August. I think we also have the flexibility to work from home a few days a week long-term if we want. My firm’s founder is super cautious around COVID.
3. Are you returning to work in person? Eventually I’ll need/want to, and need to start traveling regularly again. But I expect that’s a ways off.
4. What are your plans for the summer? DS2 will be at his in home daycare starting June 1. Right now mg parents are scheduled to fly home June 20.. I’m hoping there are some YMCA summer day camps starting the week of June 15. If not, I’ll look to hire someone to be with the older kids something like 9-1 daily starting in late June so they can get some exercise and I can continue to work some/snuggle with the newborn. We hope to go on a brief trip that involves a short flight at the beginning of August with some close friends and have rental houses booked. They have a 14-day cancellation policy so plenty of time to decide.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? I’m technically on maternity leave starting today. I will likely travel less when I go back. DH’s income is way down without bonuses but we’re lucky to still have two decent incomes. I would classify his job as somewhat at risk, but nothing immediate.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid?
3. Are you returning to work in person?
4. What are your plans for the summer?
5. What are your childcare plans if any?
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job?
1. Good though my allergies and asthma are really bad right now. So I’m coughing. I used my pulse-oximeter yesterday because I was short of breath. I was fine, and I was glad my asthma doc told me to keep one at home. 2. At home. 3. It’s up in the air. Likely, eventually, but we just heard it’ll be at least 6 more weeks before anyone in my group and at my level will go back. The VPs go back in early June, AVPs mid June through early July, then trickle back to the office. But they will have special rules for people like me who cough. So yay? I think? 4. None. Swim a lot. Maybe try to drive somewhere. We aren’t flying anywhere. Which is sad because we were going to do a big trip this year. Luckily I had procrastinated planning anything, so we didn’t have any reservations. 5. DH and my MIL will have the kids. It’s going to be a boring-ass summer for them. 6. We are going to have layoffs. I heard today not me, for now at least. So I can relax for right now.
1. How is everyone's health? Well, until yesterday, great. DS spiked a 104 fever last night that we've had difficulty keeping down even with drugs.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? Working from home.
3. Are you returning to work in person? Our county seems like it will never reopen. Our office will be slow to return to the offices, even when we do reopen. I think our office will be open before schools/daycare opens, so unless/until that happens, I'll be at home.
4. What are your plans for the summer? Cry about vacations that could have been.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? None yet. I'm honestly not sure what we'll do.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? I am completely inefficient with my job. Not so much because of being remote, but because of being remote with two needy kids. I rallied and got my PPP loans through, and soon I'm going to have to rally and work on the qualifying all of them forgiveness portion. I also anticipate that at least half my portfolio will be in default on their existing loans in Q2, so once I get the reporting in July/August, I'll really have to hunker down.
Just heard from our park district camp. Sounds like it’s completely virtual. $55 a week to drop off camp kits- no thanks since I’m already paying a babysitter. I hope she stays all summer.

1. How is everyone's health? Good
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? WFH
3. Are you returning to work in person? Maybe. My division will be the last to be phased back into the office. But there has been talk about making us full time WFH.
4. What are your plans for the summer? More of the same. DS is with me every other week. He is good about entertaining himself without too much screen time while I work. He may end up at ex-H's some days for childcare. I have a feeling this summer will include a lot of outdoor activities-more than normal.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? My in-home daycare has said I could drop off DS anytime. My current parenting plan lists ex-H as my summer care. DS may just stay home with me while I work.
6. Any changes with your job? No current changes to my job, other than more questions about COVID changes related to the government. The changes may come later when I get to WFH full time instead of the 4/5 days per week that I was doing before the SAH order.
1. How is everyone's health? Healthy other than our allergies are starting to kick in big time. Mentally I'm taking it one day at a time. The last 3 Mondays have been bad but today was good.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? At work and have been for both of us. DD comes with me.
3. Are you returning to work in person? Never left but we are working less hours now
4. What are your plans for the summer? No concrete plans. I'm hoping we can visit our friends on the other side of the mountain for a couple different weekends but they have taken social distancing super seriously as they both have had some health problems.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? DD will be spending the summer at the office with me. If any camps open we may try one later summer. I'm really hoping gymnastics gets going again so she can have a social outlet that way and a break from mom.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? We recently started letting clients pick paperwork up by appointment. When we don't have an appointment we are keeping the doors locked so no one can just walk in. We also rearranged the office to block clients by the door to limit the amount of cleaning/sanitizing area. I don't foresee us having any sit down face to face meetings this summer at all. I'm hoping to start getting off at 3 in June instead of 5.

1. How is everyone's health? We are fine. I’ve gained some weight. Sadly I think I just have to accept a bizarre work schedule and constant uncertainty as a given for now and quit eating/drinking like the world is ending next Tuesday. There are only so many “this taco and takeout marg meal is for the economy!” cards one can play. 2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? Home 3. Are you returning to work in person? Eventually, I’m sure. Part time at first, then full time depending on what the school system does, I imagine. Meg group is slated for the last or next to last phase in, so it’ll be a while. TBD. I’ve heard gossip of everything from sometime in July to never. 4. What are your plans for the summer? Nada. We didn’t have any significant plans and now we have even fewer. I hope we can safely go to the beach for a weekend, we will see. Maybe try and go midweek instead? Idk. This has shown me that we live in a relatively simple life. We didn’t have anything planned to cancel. 5. What are your childcare plans if any? Late-June and July they’ll be in daycamp at the Community Center. It’s small and local enough and they’re taking precautions. Early summer they were supposed to go to the huge science camp downtown but I want them close to home so I’m canceling. They’ll stay with us. They’ve been troopers about self-entertaining. ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? No. I work in a non-essential role in an essential industry. If anything, I’ve been busier. Slammed. My employer has been amazing and really understanding and flexible so I am grateful
I WAH, but I was always was a work at home employee so that isn't new. Work is oddly stressful. I am totally slammed this week and my older one had like 20 mins of work to do for school today.
Camps have already started to cancel though the kid's options have not yet closed. Our hope is the a sitter will be allowed and we'll have that. I'm trying to get stuff for the yard but a lot of sold out. Summer really looks grim with no camps, no play grounds, no library and I have no ability to take them to the beach during the week. I may take a few days here and there but mostly I plan to take off the first week of school when ever that is because I expect this to be a messy on many levels.
Just heard from our park district camp. Sounds like it’s completely virtual. $55 a week to drop off camp kits- no thanks since I’m already paying a babysitter. I hope she stays all summer.
I try to be polite to everyone I speak to, but I might actually laugh at someone if they offered me virtual camp. What even is that? Sounds like a box of activities I have to coordinate while still not having childcare. Nope.

I am considering some virtual camps in the AM if we get a sitter. I figure why not learn about Egypt or how to write a 5 paragraph essay. It is a break from playing and watching TV. I do not consider this a replacement for camp. $55 isn't that bad if you get supplies. Camps are >500 a week so that might be part of my thinking.
1. Health is fine. No concerns in our immediate or extended families.
2. Working from home. DH was laid off back in November so he’s in charge of homeschooling.
3. Not returning any time soon. Our city is far from entering any kind of reopening phase. My office has done fine working remotely so we’ll likely continue fully remote through summer.
4. DD is supposed to spend the first week of summer with my parents. They are all for it still but I feel more in a wait-and-see place. Mid-July we’re going to Cape Cod for a week. It’s a family cabin on a private beach so I feel good about this trip happening.
5. Camp has not been canceled still so I dunno. It’s farm camp so chances are good that they can comply with social distancing requirements if they’re allowed to open. That is 6 weeks of summer. (Yikes. Please open!!! Even if it’s only for August!) Two weeks of science camp that I’m expecting to be canceled. Maybe we’ll go to the Jersey Shore lol.
6. Not really. Still busy but not crazy busy like it was in March/April. Glad to have this job.

True. I shouldn’t judge. I hear camp and think “rally round the flag pole” and popsicle stick art but if it’s more like a class, i can see the value. it wouldn’t work for us but maybe if my youngest was a few years older. We have been doing the science at home activities from our local museum each weekend and so far there hasn’t been one even my older daughter could do unsupervised.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? WFH
3. Are you returning to work in person? at some point I'm sure
4. What are your plans for the summer? Hopefully swim and get together small groups. I hope we can still go to the mountains.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? No need.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? My director has put me in charge of all business communication. However, I still have my old jobs and the people at the state are acting like nothing is going on.

This is exactly it. I get why someone would do this option for entertaining their kids purposes. But it’s a far cry from someone actually watching my kids, playing sports, doing games, swimming and field trips like regular summer camp. I’m bummed that they took in person camp as an option completely off the table. But I get it if they can’t swim, have to wear masks, and can’t go on field trips then all you have is a bunch of overheated kids since they are outside all day typically in the heat.
1. How is everyone's health? We're all healthy for now, though BIL and SIL both tested positive for COVID (they are fine, thankfully)
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? All from home
3. Are you returning to work in person? Who knows? I'm a teacher. If we open, I will most likely go back.
4. What are your plans for the summer? Same old shit we're doing now. Power hour with my kids. Books, outside time, screens. I'm hoping the pool will be open at some point. I'd like to go to the beach for a couple of weeks.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? Don't need them. I'm home, and they are reasonably self-sufficient. I can do the work I need to do with them here.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? hahahahahahahahahahaha
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

My kids are supposed to go to a nature camp in July. They were also talking about a virtual camp. I actually laughed out loud when I read the email. Hard pass on virtual nature camp.

1. How is everyone's health? Physical health is fine. Mental health is suffering.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? I WFH any way, as does DH, so we are still doing that.
3. Are you returning to work in person? No plans to return to work in person.
4. What are your plans for the summer? Sigh. I don’t know. DD1 is supposed to go to Sleepaway camp for 4 weeks. They haven’t canceled but it definitely won’t be the full 4 weeks. DD2 has had a couple of camps cancel. We have a beach vacation planned (private beach, rental house, driving distance) so I don’t know if we will still do that. Otherwise we will be in our pool, doing schoolwork, probably going to the beach near my parents.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? No plans yet but I’m considering hiring the high school kid next door to watch the kids for a few hours a week so I can get done stuff done.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? I’m turning down work and reducing my load. I’m freelancing, and a huge project just came my way, but I can’t manage school work and the kids and take this on. I’m also skeptical about my ability to get paid for the project, so it’s just not worth the headache.
1. How is everyone's health? Everyone is good so far. My son has developed a tic over the past couple of weeks. Hopefully once his life resumes a sense of normalcy it will go away.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? Working from home.
3. Are you returning to work in person? I work for a local government agency, so we will probably reopen early June, but I’m hoping I can still mostly WFH during the summer. My position is more administrative.
4. What are your plans for the summer? Maybe visit my parent (3 hours away)?
5. What are your childcare plans if any? If I absolutely have to go into the office, I will probably beg my parents for a couple of weeks And the remainder will be through our local Y camp. I haven’t actually heard if they are having camp, though.
6. Any changes with your job? The only change we’ve had is we’re not currently earning additional PTO at this time. I think when we reopen we’ll start that back up. FWIW, we can take time now without dipping into our PTO with manager approval.
1. How is everyone's health? We're all healthy, just dealing with awful allergies right now. Tis the season for a yellow pollen coated everything.
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? Working from home full time
3. Are you returning to work in person? Someday? My CEO has no plan or timeline on returning to the office so far. It's not worth the hassle, plus no one has childcare so people wouldn't be able to show up anyway. We are definitely bottom of the list as far as state re-opening plans since we can work 100% remote with no real issues.
4. What are your plans for the summer? Working, juggling kids, spending time at my parents' house at the lake. We'll be opening our circle up to them in the next couple weeks anyway and if we can escape to the lake to swim and boat with no real concerns about other people, I'll take it! I just wish they didn't have miserable, rural internet or I'd go up there to work too. I don't usually take a summer vacation since my parents live on a lake. It's like free, automatic vacation in the summers already.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? SIL will watch the kids on my days, so 2-3 days a week. I have no idea what XH is going to do on his days if his office re-opens. I think they'll end up at my house if I'm still WFH full time. I need to hash that out with him, but am avoiding the inevitable fight that will ensue.
6. Any changes with your job? We've had layoffs, including on my team, so my workload has increased and it's very stressful right now.
1. How is everyone's health? Good here except the allergies are bad this year!
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? I am WFH although I may have to go in to the office to run some software tests since they are a pain to run from home.
3. Are you returning to work in person? That is up in the air. I think the plan is to WFH for the rest of the summer or until our county goes green. My team has been doing a great job getting things done while we WFH. There is some talk of allowing some WFH long term.
4. What are your plans for the summer? DD has 2 camps and DS1 has 1 camp, but no word on what will happen with either of them yet. My whole family is supposed to go to WDW in mid July, but that doesn't have a real good chance of happening. DH is a SAHD, so godspeed to him to figure out what to do with the kids all summer. We have a big back yard with a swingset plus an inflatable pool and water table. We also like to hike around the local parks but that is getting difficult to do with everyone deciding to do the same thing. All of our usual spots have too many people. It's getting a little tough to find some secluded spots to explore.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? DH is in charge.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? I took a 12% pay cut for the rest of the year. Our business (medical devices) seems to be doing ok for now. I'm hoping that since the hospitals are starting to shift focus to elective surgeries and such that we'll be able to win a few more contracts.
1. How is everyone's health? All healthy here thank goodness
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid? Mostly at home. I go into the lab once or twice a week, but I don’t have to interact with anyone when I’m there
3. Are you returning to work in person? I don’t see ever going back to being in the office/lab all day every day. No reason
4. What are your plans for the summer? One kid has a rock climbing camp one week. It’s a small group of 5 kids. The other 2 kids will have 2x a week math tutoring and will probably babysit and mother’s helper for my SIL. And we have a couple days of camping planned. That’s about it.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? My kids are 13 (almost 14), 10 (almost 11), and 8 so with us being home we won’t need any childcare.
DS Update: We double dosed him with Advil and Tylenol before nap (one at like 10 and the other at 1), he took a 4 hour nap, and is back to his old self with no fever since. Woot!

1. Physical health is mostly fine. I've put on about 5-8lbs and I had one of those strange low grade fevers I was getting earlier in the year which tells me they were stress related. And that tells me my mental health is not being taken care of. My emotions have been on a roller coaster the last month and a half or so. Fine for a few days, not fine for a couple, repeat. Now that things are opening up and I can see some people again, I'm hoping that will help.
2. I WFH anyways, but I do go into the office 1 or 2 times per month. I haven't been in since February. My boss is one of the people I miss the most (he is gay, so I miss him the same as I missed my BFF ) since he is really supportive and a good friend.
3. God I hope so. I hate selling insurance over the phone.
4. Survive. I hope we can start visiting state parks soon. That was something DH and I talked about doing at the beginning of the year.
5. MIL's. Might try to find a teenager to watch the kids at our house a couple days a week to minimize exposure to my nieces. Not related to covid (those plans to keep them apart blew up last week and I'm just letting it go for the sake of my sanity), but because they aren't great influences.
6. We are still not having in-person meetings with clients or prospects. I hate it. I'm ready for phone meetings to come to an end.
1. How is everyone's health? - We have all been healthy, and I am extremely thankful for that!
2. Are you working from home or in person or a hybrid?- Hybrid although basically working 80% from home. I am going into our office like 2 half days per week, because I receive & distribute our legal mail and am responsible for the mail of the elected official that I work for. I don't mind going in really, because generally no one is there so its nice & quiet unlike my house!
3. Are you returning to work in person? - I assume that I will be returning at some point. We're waiting to hear from our Chief of Staff what the plan is for our agency.
4. What are your plans for the summer? - We are still planning for our 9 day beach trip in our RV at the end of June, thankfully OBX is opening back up. Nothing much else planned right now.
5. What are your childcare plans if any? - No new childcare plans yet. Our kids are in year round school & we're not totally sure what's going to happen. They would normally start their new year on July 10th, now it may be Aug. 4th at the earliest.
ETA- 6. Any changes with your job? - Not really. I miss the daily interaction of my office and ideally, I'd like to go back at least 3 days/week and WFH the other 2.
