I’m sitting in the chair at the salon dealing with my “Olympic hair” - silver, gold (from highlights) and bronze (natural red/color over old greys). It’s a time suck, but it had to happen. Hoping it takes years off my appearance. 🤞🏻
When I get home, I have to kick off “field day” for the kids. Which is exactly what I wanted to do today. 🙄
No real plans this weekend. Yard work, maybe see my parents. Groundhog Day.

mae0111, I can't wait until our salons open! It's been since September!
It's a Beau weekend for me. One of his beagles had puppies last night, so I'll get some puppy snuggles in! We had talked about buying me a dirt bike and going for a drive to a fruit stand for cherries. Not sure if either of those things will happen as we may just do nothing too.
My 5 year old managed to break her bed this morning. It's one of those Ikea ones that can be a canopy or a loft, and she broke one of the bars, when it was in canopy mode. She split one of the beams that Ikea doesn't have spares you can order for. Cue me finding the hex key to take off the broken beam prior to the cleaning people today. Ikea, your furniture is no match for my kids. Consequently, DS has the same bed, which he has had for longer, and there are no issues.
mae0111, I cut my own hair about a month ago....it looks okay....will totally go to the salon in the future. The at home dye turned out okay though, which was good.
My little guy has his 2-week appt/weight check this morning - fingers crossed he’s gaining well. He seems satisfied but it’s hard to know how much he’s getting and he started out as my smallest baby, so I want him to chunk up. (ETA - he gained 7 oz in a week, so right on track!) Then I need to run a couple errands.
Tomorrow we have our newborn/family photos. Our photographer is a friend and also has a baby and we decided we’re comfortable being in her home studio with her. I ordered approximately 85 outfits from Old Navy to try to coordinate the other five of us but not be too matchy (baby will just wear blankets). One of my errands is dropping all the unwanted stuff at the post office to return.
Otherwise no real plans. Tomorrow is our 11th anniversary. I need to ask my parents if they’ll put the older kids to bed so we can go have a backyard drink with another couple.
Today is our last day of school, since both of her teachers (DH and I) are quitting. I can't work up the motivation to care about the schedule today. Or even do my work today.. mainly because I know come Monday, I'll have NO distractions, and will likely get more done on Monday than I've been making it through in a week.
No plans for the weekend... as usual, at this point.
I'm going away for the weekend with beau and his son. He rented this cute little cabin on a lake. They're headed up there now and I'll meet them when I finish work for the day and the girls are off to their dad's house. This will be our first "sleepover" with one of the kids around, so hopefully it goes ok! I think the fact that it's neutral ground should help make it less weird. Next weekend we are all going to visit my parents and stay there, so this is like a quick test run. Looking forward to just sitting around a camp fire and doing a whole lot of nothing away from my house where I feel obligated to do chores instead of relax.

H and I got into a fight and he has stormed off to his office, where he will stew alone and come home in either a forgiving or worse mood. I am refraining from continuing the fight via text.
for the first Friday in weeks I actually have a plan! I am meeting my best friend early tomorrow morning to do some walking at a lake near her house. We haven’t seen one another in almost three months. This is the longest since I left the county for a year in graduate school and before that I don’t think we had spent so much time apart since 9th grade.
The youngest had a meltdown today because I refused to buy a farm. 3 weeks until camp starts. I hope people in our area (and the slowly returning tourists who flock here) stay reasonable so camps and such can stay open safely. I am worried though because my neighbors have already started having large pool parties. They invited us to one this weekend but it feels too soon to me.
mae0111, My appointment is Tuesday and I cannot wait. DH and DS already had cuts.
My plan is to paint DS's furniture. She has asked for a room makeover for her June birthday since February. The bed mattress, comforter, pillows, pictures have all come in. It was interesting to get a bed and mattress delivered. Now we need to paint her off white furniture white to match the vanity. DH needs to paint pink accent wall the same as the rest of the room, because that is too baby-according to her.
Since our office is in the middle of a move, I have to finish my testing by the end of the month, which is Sunday. Soooo it looks like my only plans this weekend are to do more software testing for work. Good thing I didn't have anything else to do. (insert sarcasm here)
I’m jealous of your salons. Our area is never going to reopen. DD and I have gotten trims and the boys have each had a few cuts from our neighbors sister, but I don’t foresee a salon anytime soon. We were the first to have SIP and will likely be the last to end. Likely in November after the election. Because.
Well I live in St. Paul. Lots going on here and in Minneapolis. I’ve essentially done nothing work related today - our Gov had a press conference that last 1.5 hours and now the county attorney announced that the officer is being charged and is in custody.
Add me to the haircut club. Still have 2 weeks until I have an appointment. My normally short pixie cut is... interesting... at this point. Slight mullet, slight bob, lots of mess. Cannot wait to get it taken care of.

k3am salons are reopening now in San Diego County.
I had two backyard hair appointments during May - my hairdresser came and did cuts for the whole family, including my parents, but she didn’t want to do my highlights. So I had a friend’s stylist do my highlights in our backyard 2.5 weeks ago right before I had the baby, so I can hold off on going for awhile longer. My hairdresser owns her own salon so I plan for the whole family to go late June/early July, and we’ll be the only ones there. Other salon services like waxing aren’t allowed to open yet here, just hair salons.

I was in Minneapolis in August and thought is was such a beautiful city. I walked all over downtown and felt safe and loved just looking around. Going to the downtown restaurants. My heart breaks for the victim and the twin cities.
Thinking of you callmekd and hope you're safe. I watched your Gov's press conference and can't stop watching the coverage. I hope there will be some real reform after this.
