Good weekend. Got to hang out a the neighbor's pool. Weird adult women mean girls stuff put a little damper. I don't usually hang out with a couple that were there - socially distanced, own floats, own drinks. Anyway, this one that I have known since grade school is just terrible. Some call her queen bee behind her back. She proceeds to talk about making all of these plans with the other girls and I am just floating there, going seriously? I ask, what are you doing, and she said, I'm having a girls day. No, you should come or anything. I just finished lecturing DD about you don't talk about your birthday around others who are not invited, since she is only allowed a couple of girls over this year due to the virus. Isn't that a universal rule? DH says I shouldn't be offended, but I think it was rude. I would have walked out, but that wouldn't have been fair to the neighbor.
Still at home this week. I just received the 5th grant proposal since all of this has started, due in two weeks. These grants are idiotic. We are writing like the world is the same, but in reality, I don't know how much of this stuff is actually going to happen.
School is out on Thursday and the district planned no learning for this week. I wish I would have known that last week as then I would have brought more stuff for DD to do today. So far the marble works has been a hit and she created a covid testing run. If the marble gets stuck or flies off either of the test they have COVID and need to be washed in hot soapy water. It has been really funny to listen to her play.
Weekend was rainy and blah. The pool burst a whole and died flooding the back yard early Saturday morning. After finding that it seemed liked everything I touch either broke or spilt or went flying out of my hands. I finally gave up and said we were just watching TV and not doing anything else. Sunday we went to the dump. We also went down to the school and did chalk art all over the front entry way for the staff. They are doing a big car parade on Wednesday at 1 and since we all are working and not home will miss it. I was trying to use that art as a teaching moment of doing nice things to others for DD and she just didn't get it.
xctsclrx I’m so glad you get a break. rere that is definitely rude.
We had a decent weekend. Ended up going to the beach both days and our close friends who have been super careful and not seen us for 3 months now actually met us there so it was great. My kids screamed when they heard their friends would be there, they were so excited to see them. Adults distanced and kids played together. It was also good to see friends for a distanced backyard drink Saturday night. And baby slept decently well. So I’ll take it.
This is our last week of ‘school’ so it’s a little crazy with zoom meetings and zoom class parties. I have to make a slideshow for the kindergarten class - of course photos of fun activities will abruptly end with March 13.
The weekend visit with my parents, beau, and all the kids went really, really well. My mom was in all her glory having her grandkids around again and beau's son wasn't shy at all. She's an elementary principal so has that way about her that kids just love. He will also follow my kids to the end of the earth. He's only 2 years younger, but those couple years make a big difference. He thinks they're the coolest. haha Beau had a great time too, told me he loved hanging with everyone because his family is spread out and he misses being able to have family time like that with his siblings. Overall, amazing time. Can't wait to go back up again for more visits this summer.

I went to Costco on Friday for the first time in months, expecting long lines due to their 30 in, 30 out policy but got right in. I spent way too much, but a lot of it was household products I was out of like detergent and paper products. DS and I went to beau's for dinner on Saturday and my parent's house on Sunday. Local strawberries are just starting and we were able to get some before they sold out. Strawberry shortcake was a hit at both places.

My internet and phone have been out all day. They came back on about an hour and a half ago but I had an almost migrain. I also enough discipline to begin working at 3:30 lol. Work tomorrow is going to suck as a result of all that. I got a lot of organizing done and all laundry folded.
The weekend was pretty good though. Friday DS and I got haircuts then we went to Hobby Lobby for 4th of July decorations and a sign I've been thinking about since February. I tried to buy it then, but the only one they had was damaged. I figured if I still wanted it 3.5 months later I should get it. That evening we all walked around a local state park. The kids were a little nervous at first but by the end they were loving it.
Saturday was the 10 year anniversary of my dad's passing, so it started off kind of rough. I cannot believe it has been 10 years since I've talked to him.
Sunday was picking up groceries, cleaning and then a birthday party for my nephew.
