vasc , beautiful yard. I am highly allergic and got poison ivy through my sock. There is some out by our basement wing wall that I need DH to tackle, becomes I am not going anywhere near it.

polecat8 our public schools were finally able to release their plans for reopening yesterday. Parents were complaining about lack of info for virtual options and all I could think was there is still an entire week left before the first day. In normal circumstances a week is not the long, but in corona time a whole, whole lot can change in a week and all plans would have to be thrown out the window. I cannot imagine being an administrator or on a school this year and having to deal with parents that just don't have a clue.
We are doing the AB schedule but they have us on a red, yellow, green type plan. Yellow is the AB when cases are too high to come back fully. Red is online totally. Green is all in 5 days. Plus a virtual option for anyone that chooses. It is the best they can do I believe. I just hate it for my kids.
We are getting our plan tonight. I’m not hopeful that it will be even a tiny bit protective of people’s health.
First of all Texas has no business opening schools right now- I think the same of Florida. Some counties are OK- I’m thinking most are not.
Do you think your school will open fully because of tuition/ parent/ government pressure?
As cases rise I’m less confident about school. One town is in the news for having a prom one state over which has less restrictions. People knew teens were planning this since April- where are the adults stepping in to say no? 250 people attended.
waverly- it’s all parent pressure. It is insane. But I see why the headmaster would cave. Lots of people who aren’t comfortable sending their kids back also aren’t willing to pay $20k per kid for online school. So the only people willing to pony up for their option are the idiots who think this is all fake.
We had over 800 cases in our county today. Our positive rate is around 15%. Our hospitals are teetering. But hey, why not open schools.
My favorite part is when our headmaster said their plan follows “all CDC and health agency recommendations.” Oh, really? So you must be waiting until cases have declined for 2 weeks? No? Hmm. Might need to revisit the definition of “all.”

We’ve been out there working for several days now and I’ve had some rashes pop up on my arms and legs, but nothing too severe. The results are worth the rash. 😂

I guess the problem that I've been thinking of lately as I've received emails from gymnastics gyms, dance studios, karate studios, private daycares, the YMCA and churches that are offering "facilitation and child care" either for free or for a fee, is that when schools don't open, many families will have to/choose to send their kids to a day care type environment if schools don't open.
I mean, its a fiction to say that if you don't open schools, all families will keep their kids at home. That's what will happen with SOME families, but many others can't or won't because of whatever many reasons.
