I'll admit, the more coltee gets criticized for being unwantable the more I'm torn. Yeah, he has the personality of a wet rag. And he lives with creepy mom. And is a master gaslighter. All that makes for a very legitimate line of how tf does he get women questioning. It either has to be money or a golden dick.
But it nearly always then goes into discussion of his body, and that's where I get uncomfortable. Not saying you do this, Jalapeñomel. One of my best partners was extremely overweight. He focused on me and my pleasure first and foremost. I can't say I was hugely physically attracted to him, but that's only a small part of the relationship anyway. Contrast that with one of the worst who was hot and had a great body. He was selfish.
He's gross because of who he is. OK, the speedo was gross. I'll grant that. As what not to wear taught me, dress for the body you have, not the body you want

I agree 100%, and I think I mentioned this before. And actually, his body is fine IMO. And frankly, I don’t think he should’ve been shamed for his speedo. That was gross all around, and I slammed people on Twitter for it too. If he was a woman, people would’ve been all over them as body shakers.
Did you see that apparently Karine has recently filed DV charges against Pole and has taken the baby and left?
Here's my shocked face.
I’ve been kind of following this. He’s setting her up to look like she’s unstable.
I don’t think she can leave the country with the baby without Paul’s permission.
I hope she’s safe. Paul is a lunatic.
He's an arsonist who slashed tires over an ex. Why would anyone think he's changed? I just hope Karine is safe.
It's amazing how momPole has done a 180 for me. She went from lunatic giving a lock of hair to telling Pole to get his shit together and saying that Karine has her own story. I don't think Karine can leave the country, but she can certainly leave his ass. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if mom lets her stay with her. She seems way over his grifter lazyass ways. I'm lazy, and he makes me look like a goddamn worker bee.
Aunt Lydia is right about the bossy. I think she'd potentially accept 50/50. or 51/49. But it's 80/20, and that's being generous. I'm DED at the dual cig packs in the bra. If Angela spoke to Michael the way she spoke to Lydia, I might not hate her so much. I wonder if it's a fake face or if she's actually thinking of Lydia as more of an equal due to age whereas Michael could actually be her child. I'm thinking a mixture of both. She can't be a heinous bitch all the time in her line of work, and her grandkids clearly adore her, and she adores her mom.
My speedo comment was TIC. I used to go to a nudist resort regularly (just day pass for the pool and lunch). Whatever you feel comfortable in, go on with your bad self. Actually, nudist resorts are much more freeing. I've never felt my body looked at less.
Poor Asuelu, his mother and sisters are horrible. I dont know how Kalani kept it together so well. I would have been across the table. I hope he cuts all contact with those nasty ass women.
Colteee must have a magic dick.
Andre is 100% abusive to Elizabeth I can not stand him. Finally the family stood up to him and her about not tolerating his behavior. BUT they never noticed before??? WTF?? That's BS

The speedo thing was all over Twitter, so you aren’t wrong!
Libby married the Moldovan version of her brother. Charlie and Andrei are the same person. Toxic all around.

I get that folks aren’t thrilled with Sandy and Malia this season on Below Deck Med, but Hannah was clearly in the wrong and lying to folks about it doesn’t make it right. Hannah has been half-assing it all season. I’m curious to see how the dynamic between Jess and Bugsy evolves without Hannah telling Jess how awful Bugsy is.
It is really interesting to see just how well Pete has been edited out of the season. It’s almost as if he’s not there!

I'm so glad Hannah is gone!!! She was # 1 asshole IMO

I agree with you! Hannah was clearly wrong and she wasn't about to admit that she was. I really think she checked out last year and really didn't want to be doing it anymore. She was just full of herself and not really a great Chief Stew.
I like Bugsy and I think that once she gets going, maybe Jess will see that she's not as bad as Hannah made her out to be. But then Jess appears to be so whiny sometimes. She's not one of my favorites, but she's better than Lana ever was.
I don't think that Tom was a good idea to be brought on; the upcoming editing makes him look pretty hostile. Poor Malia is going to be caught between a rock and a hard place.

MAFS:
Karen's reaction to Miles saying he has depression was horrible. I wonder how long he's going to be patient with her.
Henry and Christina crack me up. Henry has moments of ok maybe he's going to come out of his shell, but then nope. I wonder what's going to happen when they get home. At least it seems like Christina is going to stick it out for the 8 weeks and take it seriously.
Olivia and Brett ultimately don't seem like they'll be a good match. I wonder if the producers pushed Christina to tell Olivia she had red flags about him.
Amani and Woody and Amelia and Bennett still seem like they'll be solid.

Hannah was obviously wrong but I think Malia was wrong too, especially when she was speaking about it to the deck crew when she was eating lunch with them. She seems to go on and on about being professional and the responsibilities of Bosun and having people under her etc, then she should probably be professional enough to know not to talk about it with the people under her.

Also, I would have fired Hannah last year so I don't think Sandy is wrong for firing her. I think she was wrong for working with her again honestly. I just think Sandy's micromanaging of everyone is exhausting this year.

Ditto to all of this.
Also, I think Miles is so great. He’s in touch with his feelings, honest, sensitive, and hot. It’s refreshing to see a man represented this way on TV.

Yes! I mean I don't want to talk about my feelings 24/7, so if that's really how he turns out to be, I would understand why that would be a turn off for Karen, but for now he seems pretty chill and down to earth. She needs to lighten up!

And oh yeah I forgot about Asuelu. Yes I feel bad for him too! The giving money to family thing is such a sticky situation.
I remember when I went to visit my ex-bf's family in W Africa. We spent 2 nights in the village and it was expected we bring gifts since we were coming from "the big city." We certainly did NOT have a lot of money at all, but he still obeyed his mom took out pretty much all the cash he had and bought a lot of food, alcohol, etc for us to take to the village. I didn't make a big deal about it since it was a more special occasion/trip, but there's no way we could always afford to do that and put food on the table! But his mom wouldn't understand that.
My partner's family asks for money too now (they're not from the US) and he usually will give them something, but not all they ask for.
It's definitely more of a norm outside of US families.

There’s a thread on the Below Deck subreddit from an early BD cast that shines a different light on this situation and how misleading Malia’s story was.

Didn’t the Family Chantel give Pedro a hard time for this? I know it’s common for DR too.
All in moderation I suppose, and I don’t think it’s weird to want to support your family, especially if your family assumes that the US is just dripping in jobs and wealth (I think this is the disconnect—-the US is expensive! Even if you have a great job (which are hard to come by these days) However, Asuelu’s mom should know that! And his sister was awful to him, awful!).
Sometimes I watch these shows and I think how weird (weird isn’t the right word...isolating? selfish?) we are here. We don’t have our families live with us, we don’t necessarily take care of our own.

I never watched Family Chantel, but I'm sure they did. It's definitely expected in most of the caribbean in my experience (that's where my partner's family is originally from). Yep, I said the same thing about selfish and family on a CE&P post recently. Someone mentioned how Americans are selfish and then someone replied kind of offended, saying no you can't say that we're not all selfish. But I responded saying yes yes we are. How many posts do you see around here people exclaiming that they'd NEVER let their in-laws live with them. Not as frequent, but posts about letting family borrow money or work with family are always responded to with NO don't do that. Same with having a huge house so that everyone can spread out and have their own bedrooms, heaven forbid children have to share rooms. I never understood the disdain about that one. I think we as Americans are definitely the weird ones, haha.
Like I said I think Hannah should have been fired last season because i just don’t think she’s a great chief stew. I do think malia was shady in all of this and the info in that post is super interesting. So there’s someone else malia should have reported it to and she (obviously) should not have gone through Hannah’s items. I’m not shocked malia went above whoever she was supposed to report it to. She used sandy as a crutch this whole season.
I do think Hannah was wrong. I think she should have registered her meds like she should have. But I think it’s bullshit they keep calling it weed AND that malia went through her shit and spoke about it after sandy told her not to/being a higher up and held to a higher standard when it comes to gossiping.
I don’t think Kiko was cut out for the boat but isn’t it something that toma meal (the lobster) all had to come back to the kitchen and their were shells all over the oysters.

That was my response, and I remember talking about it there with you now!
