When this disaster is over, I am taking this @$^$$%$@! app off my phone. Could we not find an app that links my office phone to my cell with a less annoying ring. Then when you decline a call, at 7am, it still keeps ringing!!!!!!!!!!!.
Signed, my just take a hammer to it.
Dear DH
For the love of anything, can you please take the initiative and find us anywhere to go Friday night with an outdoor patio and decent food and alcohol and then lets go there. All I want in life, is for someone to cook me food, to put on real clothes, and have a relaxing night.
You getting angry and depressed due to the pandemic isn't going to help. We are going to need all of our sanity to get through this. I should probably recommend you reach out to your counselor.
They don't take his insurance anymore, and he hasn't been able to find one he likes as well. What a time to lose a therapist during a pandemic.

Dear bed, You're on notice. Beau and I both hate the pillow top, you're too soft and broken down, you're too small, and we're sick of you. But I'm not replacing you until we figure out our housing situation in the next couple months. I'm officially buying some kind of mattress topper to get us through. Signed, Over you
Dear housing market, Your uncertainty is stressing me out. I am someone who needs a plan. Right now the constant wavering between buying a new place and beau and son moving in here is totally messing with my head. Can something good just come on the market and make the decision easy for us? A house with 2 showers shouldn't be out of our price range, but apparently right now, it usually is. Signed, You're ridiculous

rere, We're looking at a minimum of $500k to get a house with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. And that's not a fancy house. It's more like a 1980s split level. It's total insanity.
VHCOLA here. I feel your pain. We basically super duper overpaid for our current house because we were going to be homeless if we couldn't get an offer accepted. We were going way over list ($250k in one instance) price on offers for houses we thought were "okay" and still getting outbid, so when we found one we both loved, we just threw all common sense out the window.
Signed, I still love our neighborhood and house. I wouldn't dream of being stuck at home all day somewhere else.
ETA: I just saw your update on pricing. Come visit and real estate shop here. Vomit in your mouth a bit and then everything back home will seem reasonable.
stories like these make me very happy to live where I do. the over 250K comment blows my mind as that was the price for my house, 4 bed, 2.5 bath house with a 2 car garage.

In my area, $500,000 will get you around several acres or one of the nicest developments, 3 car garage, 4-5 bedrooms, gormet kitchen, pool, game rooms and such, high end everything.
My house is 4 bed, 3 full bath, 2 car garage, full finished basement, on 6 acres and we would ask close to $300,000.
But the beach is very far, the mountains are somewhat far, moderately small city with dining and shopping, but frequently travel 2 hrs over the course of the year for a decent entertainment and shopping.

k3am, I'll just put in your zip code into Zillow whenever I need to feel better about myself.
This conversation is basically why I can't watch shows like House Hunters anymore. I get too angry. haha
Technically I think my town is still considered a suburb of the large city near us, so we have a lot of commuters that jack up pricing here. If we moved a little bit further north, we could get more for our money. But beau's restaurant is in the city, so ... here we are, stuck being one of those commuters jacking up the prices.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! The air quality is GOOD for the first time in forever! Even when we were enjoying the "good air" before, it was still only moderate. I'm hopeful that this good air sticks around. I love open windows and random walks.

Same, except the beach is 3 miles from my house. It's really the only thing NW Indiana has going for it!
Today I went below my goal weight. I officially weigh less now than I did when I went in for my first appointment with my Son 6.5 years ago. I have lost 62lbs this year. My body is still not what it was. I really think that there are some things that a 12lb baby does to you that can't be fixed by yourself.
So my H and I talked and we are setting up a few consults this Dec to look into a mommy makeover! We keep our money completely separate, but he said that he would pay for half of it.
So thank you campermom for the inspiration. I am terrified and excited at the same time.
I have told 4 people outside my H that I want to do this. My mom, my MIL, my grandmother and my best friend.
Grandmother and best friend are excited for me.
mom doesn't think its worth it but will help with the kids afterword as much as she can.
my MIL said 'but you look fantastic I don't think you need it' I just said spanx hides a lot.
I don't want to tell anyone else because I am afraid of the judgment.
k3am, we got so excited to see a small sliver of blue sky Monday. It didn't last but for an hour.
twinmomma, we have crazy house prices too. I could get $275k for my 1100sqft house with one tiny bathroom. To get anything bigger I'm looking at $300K+ and if you want any kind of yard space it will cost you closer to $500k.
Dear payroll clients I'm offering to bring you your paperwork today. Don't say don't bother I can pick it up later because 1. I don't want to wait around for hours waiting on you, 2. I don't want to subject you to our bad office air. Just say thank you and let me deliver tax lady
Dear school We are having another round of meet the teacher zoom meetings tomorrow night because you had such a bad turn out last week. Do you really expect this week to be better? Don't our teachers deserve the evening off as I know you are having them in zoom meetings 8-4 each day since we aren't at school yet. Busy mom
186momx, I have the windows open. And I can actually see the very nearby mountains, which I couldn't last night. It's amazing. Hopefully things clear up by you soon.
4 houses have come on the market in our little cul-de-sac, all different.
One house needs $100k in structural work and has a swampy backyard and a basement that routinely floods. Sold for $760k.
Another is structurally sound, 3000 sq ft colonial, built in the 80’s, never touched or updated after construction. Just sold for $950.
A 1500 sq ft split level with electric heat (in New England... I can’t imagine the bills) built in the 70’s and never renovated was on for $600k and went under agreement within 5 days. I’m assuming it went over asking.
4th is beautiful and needs nothing. 3600 sq ft colonial on for $950k.
We sold our 1400sq ft Cape 7 years ago for $440k. It just sold again. It was totally updated when we sold it. The next owners didn’t touch it. Paint colors were even the same. Just sold for $650k last month.

Dear Company,
Please, PLEASE for the love of God, make me an offer next week. Please. Pretty please. I’m begging you. Tell me how I can convince you to bring me on board. I realize I’m a big investment but I’m so totally worth it. I will work until I bleed for you.
Signed, Not Desperate. Okay, I’m Totally Desperate
Dear Self:
Chill out. This company isn’t the only game in town.
Our market is going nuts here too. I got a personal letter in the mail today from a family who is looking for move to a bigger house for a few blocks over, asking if we are planning on moving, and that they would pay over market value for the house.
