Backstory: On Monday, the familly of a man having a mental health breakdown called 9-1-1 for an ambulance. Police responded, and killed him, claiming self-defence (he was holding a knife). There have been protests ever since. Article: www.nytimes.com/article/walter-wallace-jr-philadelphia.html
In a nutshell, a woman had her toddler in her SUV with her and had gone to pick up her teenage nephew. They were driving home and encountered the protests. Police directed her to turn around. As she was doing that, the officers swarmed her vehicle, busted the windows, yanked her and the teenage nephew out of the car and throw them to the ground. She was taken to the hospital before being taken to the precinct for booking, where she was finally able to call a relative and ask them to find her child.
The FOP posted a photo of the child on social media with the following caption: "“This child was lost during the violent riots in Philadelphia, wandering around barefoot in an area that was experiencing complete lawlessness. The only thing this Philadelphia police officer cared about in that moment was protecting this child.” The post has since been deleted.
Just want to say that this happened Tuesday night. Which is neither here nor there and it’s so horrific. But in case people knew about it on Tuesday I didn’t want it to seem like it happened again on Thursday.
This is appalling in a way that a lot of things aren't to me anymore.
And the worst part is, this woman will incur expenses and ongoing trauma (as will her son and nephew) and literally nothing will be done about it. She'll probably sue and win some money from the city (how fiscally conservative of them), but the cops that did this won't be impacted in the slightest.

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
Have they identified the officer ( and the other officers) who was hulk smashing the windows and beating Young as he dragged her out of the car? Has the Philly police department responded yet?
Time and time again we are seeing that police officers do not do enough to earn the trust of the public and instead, protect the pieces of shit that work among them.
This is one of the most repulsive things I've read and I spend a fair amount of time on Twitter. That poor family. Such needless action that will result in serious long term repercussions for the victims. This is a fucking tragedy.
