I still haven’t gotten an offer. The last intel, on Friday afternoon, was everyone had signed off with a resounding yes, and now they were in the process of haggling about my reporting structure and pay structure.
Should I follow up with a short email expressing I’m still interested and offer to provide any information they may need? I’m kind of dying over here waiting.
Did you already send your thank you letter that said you were very interested yada yada?
Are you working with a recruiter? DH typically works with recruiters (either internal or external), so there is a lot more back and forth conversations between himself and the recruiter that might not necessarily involve you sending anther email directly to the hiring manager.
Is the reporting and pay structure a stumbling block for them? As in you've already discussed and agreed upon salary? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to see if they are waiting because they are not sure you would accept the salary?
I did send a thank you to the 4 people who interviewed. I actually got 2 responses back, which was very cool.
No recruiter. They’ve been trying to recruit me for the job for a while.
At the interview, we talked salary, and the main guy said “that number doesn’t scare me. In fact, that’s what I was thinking we would be looking at.” So it’s not the number, I don’t think. Apparently there was something of a battle in that they can think of several ways to use me, so multiple groups were trying to stake a claim.

I would wait. Given that they've tried to recruit you for years and you finally made up your mind to go for it now, they should already know that you are serious/interested. Sometimes it just takes a long time. Our last few rounds of hiring lawyers for our group took an average 4 - 6 weeks AFTER we decided to hire that person to have the official offer letter out.
I asked the guy I’ve been working with. He thought it would be a good idea. So I sent it. It was very short and not at all pushy. Just an offer to provide info if it would help their decision making process and reiterating that I’m excited about the opportunity. Fingers crossed.
