Kohls has a Switch bundle, and you’ll get $120 in kohl’s cash back... in case anyone is looking...
I may use this as a way to convince DH. DS wants a switch and I am fine with him having one but DH wands to avoid video games forever. I personally love video games and would like DS to have one so I can play lol
I asked DH if he would like a switch as he is the only person who plays and we have a 12 year old Wii. He now wants me to buy it now and just run all over town looking for it. I told him it wasn't going to be found in a store as it is the hot item right now.
DH also bought DD the Harry Potter Lego Wii game for Christmas since she is still obsessed with Harry Potter. DD doesn't play the Wii at all or video games. I suggested he get a couple easy games chicken shoot or Mario kart out and try to get her to play. She did try for 5 minutes and lost interest, his next idea is for her to watch him play the game and help in since she knows the books.
What is my best strategy for a Barbie Dreamhouse? The target 25% doesn’t apply.
If you buy it at Kohl’s right now, you can earn $40 in kohl’s cash. It’s a little more expensive than at target ($199), but then you’ll have $40 to spend on the other kids? And 2% back at Rakuten.
It doesn’t look like you can use coupons for it anywhere. That’s the only deal I’ve seen.
186momx, impossible to find one in store here but they are available online.
Our street full of kids are starting a scooter gang so we found the Santa gift for the girls. DD1 is getting a hoverboard, DD2 electric scooter and DD3 a three wheel scooter with baby yoda on it. So cute!
My daughter (4) is asking for long princess dresses that go all the way to the ground from Santa (done!) and she’s getting a second hand (but awesome!) bike from us since she’s a demon on 2 wheels. Aside from that, she’s getting classic LEGO bricks, books, art supplies, and clothes from family.
DD(8) is getting a new scooter- graduating from 3 wheels to 2 after another kid made fun of her for using a “baby scooter.” New helmet. Boogie board that we can’t use till summer. A couple new outfits for her American Girl doll.
She basically doesn’t play with toys so I don’t know what else to tell aunts & uncles & grandparents. She likes screens and elaborate make believe games but her pretend play really doesn’t use props or costumes. She’d like a phone but that’s a hard no for a couple more years.

DD (9): Atomik POP comic club subscription, National Geographic animal rescue LEGO set (probably the alpaca rescue, but maybe a smaller one as well), tie-dye set, a book of mazes and there are several books she wants as well
DD (6): Some sort of kid magazine subscription, narwhal stuffed animal making kit and probably another craft kit, lego friends set, books
Family gifts: a Switch game, Throw Throw Burrito, these ridiculous inflatable unicorn yard toys, www.magiccabin.com/en/narrow-by/look-what's-new/inflatable-hop-‘n-go-unicorns,-set-of-2/p/733341?ranMID=2921&ranEAID=Y89WmUsmiu8&ranSiteID=Y89WmUsmiu8-UMr2.qDNx4ap3uYbQdD3oQ&siteID=Y89WmUsmiu8-UMr2.qDNx4ap3uYbQdD3oQ&utm_campaign=program_homepage&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=linkshare&aff=5125
So far I have lego Star Wars advent calendars. And a fort building set.
DD wants to be a fashion designer. The cheap plastic sewing machines didn’t work for us. So this year I’m trying a hand sewing craft kit where she can make toys and maybe there was doll clothes in there.
They want X Wing Star Wars lego Hula hoop Skateboard but DH want to wait until summer Hobby train track (not kids version) French and Polish dictionaries. DD likes French. DS’s language choice changes monthly. Wellie Wisher. We have Emerson- she wants Ashlyn
shakinros, we are in the same boat with the 8 year old girl. DD likes crafts, so I’m thinking a jewelry making kit. And I was so desperate that I ordered her a handheld pie iron for the campfire because she loves our fire pit.
Today I floated the idea of turning our toy room into a reading and gaming room. The kids are excited about the concept. But that means getting rid of most of the toys, which they don’t play with anyway, to make room for books and a television. If they follow through, we can get them a television and comfy chairs for that room, which will make Christmas easy.
mommyatty we’ve started turning our playroom to a family room too. Step 1 was new toy storage and then cover the whole until with curtains. Basically no toys have been taken out of there since august. Step 2 will be to get rid of the toys and buy a new couch. Step 3 will be a TV. I’m excited to get a more functional space and less junk!

For older kids(8-10) hexbugs also makes some catapults, airplane launchers, and things that are a step more challenging than legos of your kids like legos.
waverly you may already know, but the best deal on Wellywishers is going to be Costco. They’re ~99 for the doll and accessories, and if they follow last year’s trend, they’ll drop $20 right before Christmas and you can get a price adjustment.
My 6 year old wants the Super Mario legos. They were on sale on Amazon this week, so I ordered them. I also ordered 2 Super Mario Switch games.
For 8 year old, I got her a karaoke machine with 2 microphones so she and her dad can do Hamilton duets. When I was at Target they had FAO Swartz jewelry kits that looked really nice and a girls pedicure set with the foot tub, so I got her those. We love getting pedicures together and we can’t do that now.
mommyatty, Our karaoke machine gets A LOT of use by two 8 year old girls. It's a big hit here! They don't hook it up to the TV to try and read along to the songs, they just use our Echo Show and sing along with the microphones on the machine.
Beau's son is 6. I found a hoodie sweatshirt that transforms from a Chewbacca stuffie into a Chewbacca hoodie. He loves Star Wars.
