If you have a child/children, how do they attend school?
I tried to do two questions.. we'll see how it goes.
Are you virtual, in person, or hybrid, by choice or did you have no other option, as well as whether you are in your normal school or changed schools in order to have your choice of distance/virtual/hybrid.
ETA: If your kid is like mine and doing virtual school, but at an in-person distance learning facility, I would still consider that as virtual and at her "normal" school.

In person by choice. Our other option was full time virtual.
ETA: our kids and all staff are required to wear masks all day besides lunch and they have certain zones they can play in at recess that rotates by grade. My husband is a teacher so he’s at risk of daily exposure anyway so we figured she wasn’t at more risk. My son is in daycare with no masks for kids. They’ve never closed since March and since my son started back in September we’ve only received one notice of a positive adjacent case in the school. Parents can no longer go into the daycare - we drop at the door and they take everyone’s temp as they come in.
In person by choice. Our other option was full time virtual.
Same. And not with live instruction. Didn’t feel like much of a choice given DS2’s learning struggles. We are happy with the protections put in place by the district, however.
He goes in person 4 days a week, with one day of asynchronous virtual. The other option was completely virtual.
This is the second time we have gone in person. We were all virtual at the start of the year, then went back in Oct, back virtual before Thanksgiving, and now back again.
We were virtual by choice until winter break and just switched to hybrid by choice (at DS1's normal school). (The school district is doing extremely well with precautions and have had no transmission at the schools. Hybrid is a much better option for DS and we felt comfortable with the risks.)
In person by choice. Our other option was full time virtual.
Same and with live instruction. I am thankful and grateful. I am very pleased with the measures our school has put in place and my kids are very happy to be in school during the day.
So far school has been a great experience for us. Our principal has been amazing and the safety measures put in place aren't perfect but really good. DD is thriving. I didn't recognize the person she was becoming over spring/summer.
We had the choice of full time virtual as well but it is 8 hours of Zoom. That is a nope for me for an elementary kid.

DD has 4 days of in person kindergarten. The one virtual day usually consists of a short morning class Google meet with some assigned math and reading skills to be completed after. Only the kindergarteners had 4 days when school started and the rest had the 2 day cohorts. They just brought all the first graders in to 4 days and will do the same for 2nd grade when space allows for it.
Hybrid by choice. FT is not a choice, but I would choose it if it were an option. I could go on for days on what a big difference it made for my kids. They were both experiencing some pretty pronounced anxiety issues that we had never dealt with. Getting back into the routine of school made such a huge difference. I am forever grateful for our teachers and admin who have made it happen.
In person by choice at our normal school. Families were able choose fully virtual or fully face to face at the start of the year. They just opened the process if families want to switch (either way) in Feb for the rest of the year.
It's been a good experience so far, we're really fortunate that our district has the resources to support both populations and have spaces to spread out and behave in a safe manner.
We did go virtual for 3 weeks when the state took a pause. And honestly that was a good experience as well. It was well structured and my daughters teacher treated it much the same as in person experience - just with more wiggle breaks.
Virtual by choice. March will be a full year. Once all the adults in the family get a vaccine we hope to send her back. Which will likely be 1st day of 6th grade.
She goes to her normal preschool and all public schools are in person, although I think parents have the option to homeschool. My province has opted to close just about everything else before schools, which lots of parents appreciate but I'm not sure how the teachers feel about it. We are at about 500 new cases per day in BC.
Hybrid by choice (well my choice would be all in person if I was given that option....). It’s either hybrid or full remote here - 3 different times to switch if you decide
DS1 is hybrid at normal school (public middle school) - 4 days in, 8 days out. His virtual days are livestreamed from the classroom with the group that is in school. (Although currently everyone is virtual until the 19th when hybrid starts again after holidays.) I have been very happy with the school's implementation of live virtual learning in a hybrid model.
DS2 is in school at normal school (private Catholic K-6). With the smaller enrollment numbers of a private school it has been easier for safety precautions to be implemented and enforced. We actually had a high number of people apply once the local public district (different then the one DS1 attends) announce they were starting fully virtual back in September. As a Board of Trustee member it was nice to see the boost in our enrollment but we were selective in who we accepted because we knew their interest was only the public district announcement. Bonus is at least 50% of the new families are planning to stay for next year (this is our last year at this school as DS2 is in 6th grade).
We are in person by choice in private school. The other option was 100% virtual. We have been in person since September with very few issues. One instance of one student and a second instance of one teacher with positive COVID tests, but individual classrooms were quarantined, not the whole school.
But everyone just broke the rules to travel over Christmas and then tried to send their kids back without COVID tests. So I’m sure we have some remote learning coming in the future.

I voted for "virtual only, no choice" and "hybrid, by choice"
DS has been virtual only since school began in September with no option for in person. We have the option to go back in person on January 25th and we have decided to send him. It's technically hybrid, I guess... since he'll be going M, T, Th, F and home ("intervention day") on Wednesday.
He's in middle school (6-8) and only the 6th graders are going back. I don't know what the plan is for the other grades to come back yet.
Virtual only - no choice (it'll be a year in March...sigh).
Ditto this. Our last day of in person school was March 11, 2020. The district is looking to get the K-1 back in school in March, but I think it is HIGHLY unlikely that any other kids will be going back at all this year.
DS is preschool, so he doesn’t really count. It’s in person with a shortened day (5 hours). The public school is hybrid for K-5, with option to be fully remote if preferred, or fully in-person if SN. 6-12 is fully remote, or fully in-person if SN.
MS teacher where my kids (1st and 4th) also go to school. My children are gearing up for in-person this week. DS2 is already full days, all week. DS1 will be full time next week.
My students begin in-person 2 days per week on the 25th. If numbers go down, we will slowly add a 3rd and 4th day through the spring semester.
