I'd be surprised if Skinny pants or leggings go away completely because they still serve a practical purpose. A lot of my shoes/boots won't work with flare/bootcut shoes. It's not clear to me what practical purpose mom jeans serve so I will probably pass for now.

I just refinanced my student loans at a substantially lower interest rate. My monthly payment is a tiny bit more but I'll get them paid off almost 5 years early!

I'm usually wrong about things like this though.
I will never, ever, ever, ever give up skinny jeans and leggings, no matter how horribly untrendy I turn out to be in some future era.
Same. Skinny jeans have been a godsend to this flat-assed girl. Regular jeans are both too tight in the waist and baggy in the seat, so I look like I'm carrying a full diaper. No thanks. As long as someone makes them, I'll keep buying.
icedcoffee I found these at the gap site - similar to what you've posted, but not quite. And apparently cropped wide leg is a thing too which looks even crazier to me.

I woke up with jaw pain (I grind my teeth) and now it feels like it has moved (the pain, not my teeth). I am convinced I either need a root canal or I'm dying. No other options.

oh shit raangoli LOL. Those aren't as bad as the jnco's I posted, but yeah too much material. They actually remind me of gaucho pants from like 20 years ago. I JUST gave away my last pair of gaucho pants so it makes sense that something similar would be coming back. Ha.

I have zero places to wear any of the clothes anyway, stylish or not, so my opinion is moot. I've actually looked at my closet and wonder if all of my clothes will be out of style by the time I go back to the office or to a restaurant.

I work for a small division of a huge company. We found out that they aren't renewing our office space lease and we'll be moving to the corporate headquarters once it's built out for us and we're allowed to go back to the office. People were apparently concerned that we'd have to wear business dress instead of business casual, but we found out they are more casual than we are, and there's a possibility they wear jeans on occasion.
Jeans still have a waistband. Come talk to me when the dress code is "leggings and hoodies."

I am 52 years old, have a side part and love my jeggings and I don't give a flying fart if someone thinks it's not cool, because, tbh, I'm not cool and never cared about being cool.
Grey/white hair does make it feel like you have bald spots because it's so much lighter, but also most of us who are heading into middle age (or there) tend to lose some hair thickness with peri.
These Gen Z kids think they invented all these looks, and I'm over here laughing because, nah...we already learned how ugly they are. Keep on keepin' on, youngsters.
Just has a meeting with my new boss (the position I didn’t get), her boss, and two above him. She starts joking around about wanting to do “real work” again instead of checking off who did training.
Read the room!! I’ve only applied for that level 5 times over 10 years. And I like that stuff. Or really, I hate the “real work” I do and would love to be doing that.

I'm so frustrated with my body. I was a runner years ago and loved it, but life got in the way. I started running again at the start of the shelter in place, was building good mileage and then was sidelined by IT Band Syndrome. Did a few months of PT and started running again. Now I am developing plantar fasciitis. Ugh, getting old stinks.
Plus 1 to taking a long time to adjust to skinny jeans. I appreciate tucking them into my boots though. I still kept my boot cut and my straight leg pants. I ditched low rise because it is uncomfortable. But I am not wearing high rise with crop tops because crop tops are not for me at my advanced age.

RitzyHeifer I would be pissy about that, just like I am every time a faculty member tells me to "have a good summer."
Did widow's peaks evolve out of the species between Millenials and Gen Z? A middle part does not work with my hairline. And I look cute as hell in skinny jeans and a blazer, so screw TikTok fashion.
I just got the container of frosting that was left over from making/decorating sugar cookies for Valentine's Day and ate a spoonful. I'm stressed out about a staff member who doesn't seem to get that she has to show up to work on time.

This is giving me hives.
I'm just shy of 5' tall, so this will NEVER work on me. LOL forever.
Clothing related: my in-laws have given me Madewell gift cards for my birthday and holidays over the past two years and thanks to the pandemic I haven’t spent any of it. So now I have enough saved to buy a whole bunch of new pieces and I’m so excited! I’m hoping someone in the store can pick some things out for me or else I’ll leave with 4 white v-necks, two high waisted pants, and 3 khaki green or mustard yellow cardigans which is literally all I wear right now.
In other news: someone on my buy nothing page just put a small travel bag up for grabs and I felt a lurch of excitement inside me. If our Covid numbers keep going down and H is able to get his shots sometime before June we might actually get to fly to see my family this year.
I used to feel slightly crazy sounding my doom and gloom about the the climate all those years ago. It's fucking wild to see it in action right now. We're living on borrowed time.
