I thought the same thing! My son is just a bit younger than Bentley and he’s been asking questions, periodically, since he was eight. Plus, our schools start covering things in fourth grade. I know it was an innocent thing, but I recall that Bentley has had a “girlfriend” at school. That boy needs to be educated about sex!
My 7 year old son asked me what sex was two days ago, and I just told him. I’m not sure why it’s so taboo, especially in today’s society. And if I was a teen mom, you bet your ass I’d be even more diligent about it.
I have always been really upfront and honest with my girls. I have explained a little about sex to them, but not a lot just yet. I have explained what their period is and how the process works. My youngest told me she has started to grow hair, "Down there". She just turned 9. I am not quite ready.

NomadicMama, literally the next day in the car we were talking about families, some are big with lots of kids and some are small. H made the comment that he had a procedure done so he would no longer be able to help me make a baby and K said, "wait, the dad is involved!?" LOL So, guess we will need to expand our puberty talk. lol Talk about timely.
