My daughter is 5 (K in the fall!) and loves bathtime and playing in the bath. All of her current bath toys are either too babyish or are destroyed, so we’re in the market for new ones. The ones that we have seen seem too young for her. While she’s happy with an old shampoo bottle, I’d love to find her some cute bath toys, so I’m wondering if you have any suggestions.
We also have some solid, hard plastic sea creatures and a diver guy (Safari brand...or Schleich or similar). Those have been used for YEARS by all of my kids.
Wind up pool toys are fun in the bath still at that age. I had never thought about barbies. We don't have any; DD is 8 but sometimes will take a bath; maybe I should get her one.
ETA does the light up mermaid barbie work or is that just asking for the lights to break immediately?

I’m cheap. My kids use foam puzzles from dollar tree, and old breast pump parts. I found a random bag of brand new pump parts in a closet and they were so excited.
Along these lines - One of the favorite bath nights in our house is "disco night". We turn on dance music, put all the Crayola color drops in the bath so the water is black and then put glow sticks in .
I don’t know if you can find this in stores right now, but I bought some Crayola bath lab sets for Christmas gifts and they were a huge hit. It’s like a beakers and goggles so they can make potions like a mad scientists. The safety goggles are small and fake, like for a toddler, but 4, 8 and 9 year olds loved it. It also came with color tablets to mix in but they still use the set after those were gone.
Another fun bath idea. Crayola has bath bombs and other companies make bath bombs with toys in them. Sometimes you can find them for cheap after a holiday.
We have boon pipes and cogs. I like that they don’t take up room in the tub since they stick to the wall.
Our neighbor dudes gave my kids this 12” pink and yellow rubber shark when they moved out and the kids have fun with that.

The color drops used to be a favorite at our house until the formula changed last year. Then they were gritty and didn’t make nice colors? I complained and JUST got my refund from crayola - it’s been so long I couldn’t remember what I could be getting a random $7 check for
