I sell some stuff (probably about 50 sales total) Yeah, they take a percentage, but they also give you the shipping label and take away the sketchy meeting up part. I'm willing to part with a percentage because of ease.
I've sold over $1500 worth of things very casually the past couple of years. The ease of it can't be beat. They provide the shipping label, you can order free boxes from usps & then schedule package pickup via usps.
I do and it's super easy, but it's not a "list it and forget it" site. You need to share your items pretty regularly to keep them at the top of the brand's search (unless it's something people will specifically search for). I notice a huge difference in my sales when I share more often.

I sold on ebay as an actual job for a few years and then got sick of it. Last year I had some nice stuff to get rid of and started listing on Poshmark. Its been OK. The nice part is all your sales are flat shipping, you just gotta print out a label (I think the limit is 5 lbs.) and put it in your mailbox.
I have sold on Poshmark for just over a year and made about $600. The last time I posted anything was probably last May. I have other things I could put on there but just haven't found the time, but I still sell something probably once every 2-3 weeks just by having it in my "closet" on there. I find it pretty easy and it was better than the clothes just sitting in my closet unworn.
I prefer Mercari, but buyers can be somewhat picky. Also some of the shipping issues they blame on you instead of the carrier, sorry, I’m not amazon prime.
Another vote for Mercari. I tried Poshmark but wasn't committed to all the sharing and following. It seemed like such a waste of my time to manage it like a social network. I've been selling on Mercari since 2016 and had 214 sales for about 3k in profit. It's really manageable and worth the fees to have a smooth platform. Like anything I've learned how to make it easier/smoother with time and experience.
I sell a lot of Facebook MP, mostly because shipping is more expensive in Canada and thus selling prices have to be cheaper for people to be willing to pay shipping. (We don't have flat rate small parcels like they have in the US.)
I do porch pick up, money transferred prior to purchase. Especially with Covid, it's a safe, simple way to sell. I just toss the item out the front door in a bag on the day the person says they'll pick up.

I sell on both Poshmark and Mercari. I use list perfectly to crosspost easily. That’s it. I think the percentage they take is worth getting the stuff out of my house and I make a little money. It’s been a great Covid hobby for me!!
My local buy nothing group recently kicked someone out because she misrepresented herself and was allegedly selling donations she collected through the site on Poshmark.
