Who is planning something fun this summer if your currently fully vaccinated or will be soon? What are you really looking forward to? DH and I are fully vaccinated, and the kids will be in 4.5 weeks. Curious what fun plans you are looking forward to?
My family is all fully vaccinated now. We are going to have a family reunion at a local park in June. We have not all been together since March 8, 2020.
I'm mostly just confused about what to plan. My 6, 8 and 10 years olds still won't be vaccinated. We're going to spend a lot of time up north at our cottage again. Also planning a couple small, not far road trips. We'll probably still not be dining inside or anything all summer. Mostly still keeping things outdoors and hoping numbers keep going down.
My 12 year old can get vaxxed, though, so I am happy about that! I'm trying to get her set up for early next week.
I want to see how much things reopen. We want to go back to Door County but the resort still has some stuff/activities closed due to Covid. If it was just us adults it wouldn't matter but with a 17 month old, I need a minimum.

It's a long way away but when I got the email a few days ago that Hamilton tickets were back on sale, I immediately texted DH and said I'm buying a pair to go see the show on Broadway on my 40th birthday next April. I'm so excited. It's going to be a loooooooong wait.
My Green Day/Weezer concert was postponed to this coming August from last August. It's at an outdoor baseball stadium so I think I'll feel okay going with my vaccinated friends.
I don't have exact dates yet, but I'll be excited to go to hockey games again next season.
We let the in-laws visit then we flew to vegas. DH is picking back up his Saturday indoor hobby. I need to think about dragging my ass back into an office. We visit more family in a couple weeks. No kids here so I am up for anything, but I wish I had a closer cat sitter (my friend is helping but she lives 30 minutes away so I feel really bad asking).
I think I will stalk airline prices and start making short trips, some solo, to see family and friends. And asap, I will likely be on a cruise with a friend. Spain was next on DH's list, so I will stalk those prices too. Bora Bora is on my list too, but I have not looked at how their health is doing.
Stupid as it may sound to some, I had my highest airline status ever during the pandemic, and it currently expires Jan 31 2022. I want to use the benefits while I can, and will likely try a "challenge" in summer 2022 to earn minimal status.
Overall, I feel a lot of hope. (And I understand it is still very bad for other countries.)
We debated doing a flying vacation, but DS still isn't fully comfortable with the idea (he's been having some anxiety related to things returning to normal), and the rental car situation seems like an extra layer of difficulty.
So instead I think we are going to do a week in the Adirondacks, which are driving distance for us. Exact town still undecided, although I'm leaning toward Lake Placid (open to suggestions though if anyone is familiar!) None of us have ever been, and we all love outdoor activities, hiking, being on the water. So seems like a good fit.
We didn't do so much as a day trip to the shore last summer, so I'm excited. We also just went to Gettysburg a couple weeks ago. It feels so good to get out of the house again.
A bunch of my friends are making a ton of concert plans this summer. But I actually had a lot of anxiety in crowds even before covid, so I think it's going to be a long while before I go to concerts again.

Right now, I’m most excited about DATE NIGHT with H.
Our babysitter disclosed that she’s fully vaxxed (which I was so relieved to hear!) so H and I are going out to a fancy dinner and drinks (indoors!) at the end of the month.

Right now we are just planning our move in August. But I'm excited that, 1. it's almost here, and 2. we are fully vaxxed so I am much more comfortable with the whole thing. It's hard to believe that when I accepted this job in February I was worried we wouldn't be vaxxed by the time we had to move.
Then, I really want to go to Vegas. So we will plan that for maybe November/Thanksgiving time.
I booked tickets for Ireland the end of august. H and I will be fully vaccinated, my parents have had a vaccine and hopefully all my siblings will but my kids won’t (9 and 7) I bought tickets that can be changed for no extra charge. As of right now we couldn’t go as a 2 week quarantine is required for all upon arrival, so we’ll have to see what the situation is in Ireland by august.
Other than that I’ve only booked camping trips so far for the summer.
Oh as soon as peloton reopens their studio a group of girlfriends and I are going to NYC for some live classes, a Broadway show, and shopping. Cant.Wait.

Brunches with my friends. SO.MANY.BRUNCHES!!!!!!! One of my friends is booking a party bus in August for her birthday. She just wants to ride around in it all day while we drink- not even stop anywhere lol.
We are flying to visit the ILs this summer for 3 weeks and I can't wait. Hoping to get a few date nights with H while we are there and have babysitters.
Oh and my book club is gearing up again. Can't wait.
We had an Italy trip planned for last summer and I'm finally feeling mentally ok to get excited to start looking at dates for Spring 2022.
We had a dinner party last weekend with 9 people in our house! 5 fully vaccinated guests, our fully vaccinated selves, and our two unvaccinated kids.
That's about as wild as it gets for a while. Our kids are 5 and almost-2, so no vax in sight for a while. We are comfortable with them being around other fully vaxxed people, but public is a different story.
We went to see my family last week. We just hung out at their houses, but it was so wonderful to see my parents, sister and BIL, and my niece and nephew.
I am going to see my grandma next month, which means I'll also see my aunt/uncle/cousin. I am excited for that too.
We don't have much in the way of other fun stuff planned yet - I'd like to go away for a few days up to a week later in the summer, but haven't done enough research or planning yet. We also have 2 rescheduled concerts to attend, assuming all goes well. Those are in late August and September.
Tomorrow we are going out to our favorite restaurant in the city to celebrate H's birthday, too. We may go grab a cocktail somewhere beforehand. That sounds so normal and fun!
So... not a lot of big glamorous stuff, more just spending time with loved ones and doing a few fun "normal" things.
I'm visiting my parents this weekend for the first time since Jan. 2020. In June, we're boating to a hotel/spa for a weekend with friends. In August, we're taking a week off to drive around the Shenandoah valley to eat, drink, stay at fancy hotels, and take a hot air balloon ride. I've also bought a bunch of tickets to concerts, festivals, etc. in late summer and fall. I'm finally feeling like myself a bit!

We booked a trip to the DR in December. I'm so happy that DS will be able to get vaccinated by then (he turns 12 in a few weeks). H and I cancelled a trip to the DR back in 2019, because he had lost his job, so this is a long time coming. I splurged for an upgraded ocean view room w/ butler service.
We are going to Vermont and the 1000 Islands in July.
H and I are trying to decide on a long weekend trip for our anniversary in September. We have a ton of Southwest points and flights to Chicago are pretty cheap, so that is the front runner right now.
I'm also looking forward to some summer festivals and sporting events. The Blue Jays are playing their home games in Buffalo this season, so I'm hoping to get tickets for a game.
Oh as soon as peloton reopens their studio a group of girlfriends and I are going to NYC for some live classes, a Broadway show, and shopping. Cant.Wait.
I so want to do a peloton class in NY! I’m totally looking into that
