I'm sure at some point I'll be comfortable not doing it, but I'm not there yet.
At the physical therapist's office everyone is still masked. Everyone I've seen at grocery stores are still masked too. So that's my current preference.
Yeah I'm not quite there yet, either. The PA mask mandate is still in effect, isn't it?

I trusted the CDC guidance two weeks ago, so I continue to trust as things change.
So, when the mandate is dropped in my state, I will do whatever the business requires. I just got my hair done on Saturday, I think I would continue to mask there just because it's such close contact to the stylist.
But Target.... I would not mask if not required. I trust the guidance and I trust the vaccine. I told my 8yo that he must wear a mask inside all the time, and outside when around others, until he gets vaccinated. He's had the most potential exposure of anyone in my house, being at daycare and then school for almost a year now.
I would not plan to attend a crowded indoor event at this time, but the grocery store does not concern me as a vaccinated person.
I'm glad you posted this. H and I have both been vaccinated. Most stores here are still requiring one so obviously I will wear one there. I've mostly stopped wearing one outdoors unless I'm in a crowded area. We still don't go many places.
Our YMCA just lifted the mask restriction and I want so badly to rejoin and not wear a mask. I have struggled physically for the past 8 months with long COVID and I think it would be amazing for me to have access to the gym pool and random equipment. I cannot wear a mask when I'm working out. I start to feel like I'm going to have a panic attack. I don't really trust the CDC recommendations right now - it seems like they just kind of threw their hands up without a lot of thought.
No, unless the business requests it. But it’s just H and I in our household and we’re both fully vaccinated.
This.
Same too. Also, MN never required masks outdoors unless you were within 6 feet of someone for a prolonged time. It wasn't the same masking outside culture that I know some places, like New York have.
Our office discontinued mask mandates as of today for fully vaccinated individuals, and I'm happily dropping it. I work in the office full time, and most of our staff is fully vaccinated. We generally don't have clients in, so the people I'm exposed to are a small pool of mostly known vax status. I feel ok about it.
I have kids who are too young to vaccinate. When I go places with them, I'll mask to model the behavior, and because I'm requiring it of them.
When I'm in public without them, I guess case by case basis.
This, almost exactly. Work still requires us to mask up in shared spaces despite NY's mandate expiring today for vaccinated people, but I work in my office alone so I always keep it off unless I'm elsewhere in the building.
I trust the vaccine so I'd feel okay going into Target today by myself without my mask on, though it's going to feel strange. So far today though, I was only in places that required the masks anyway regardless of the dropped state mandate (my job, the restaurant I got lunch takeout from, school pickup/dropoff).
Outside...nope, unless I'm walking to an indoor place or something and don't feel like holding the mask in my hand lol. But I wouldn't put masks on my kids outside either unless we were in crowded spaces, which isn't a regular thing. Otherwise, I'll wear my mask with them even in places where I wouldn't be required to wear them.
The only person in our bubble who isn’t vaccinated is my 1 year old daughter. My husband and I have both been going into work since about May 2020 (well he never really stayed home fully) and we have definitely been exposed to a lot of potential people who had it. But no contact tracing has come to us.
My county is at 65% partially vaccinated. I will continue to wear a mask when at a business that still has mask requirements. I will likely not wear one of the business does not have the requirement. Businesses are mainly following OSHA so most still require masks as of today, but I assume many will drop it soon.
My city is still requiring it even though the state isn’t. I still see people masked same as they were walking dogs, waiting for the bus and in stores. My husbands outdoor tai chi class requires masks.
I’m going to keep masking anyway. I’m only out and about a few hours a week so it’s no big deal. I’ve always been concerned with workers during all this and we don’t know when the vaccine wears off or what new variants might pop up so I don’t see any downsides.
I didn’t mask while getting gas today though! No one was around and it was outdoors.
I am the SS. I cannot wear a mask, am fully vaccinated but have gone pretty much nowhere. I will continue to do mostly drive up orders because I am still not over all the screaming and scenes that have made towards me. I believe in the vaccine but for my own mental health, I'm just going to keep staying home.
Juat quoting this part because no, we don’t completely, but we know it’s at least 6 months. And the trials will always be ahead of when the rest of us got vaccinated so we’ll have ample warning when those people start to lose their antibodies.

I have two kids that are high risk. Husband and I are fully vaccinated but I am not taking any chances so I will where a mask unless I am outside and can keep my distance.
Outdoors no. Indoors I don’t even know. I’m so torn about it. Work hasn’t changed their mask policy yet so obviously I’ll wear there but stores and such I’m just having such a hard time remembering what not wearing a mask is like.
Last I heard our gov has no intention of lifting the mask mandate. I wear it at the park, and I wear it around one ear when walking and if I see someone coming I'll pull it back on. Always when inside.
Idk it doesn't bother me, and I'd rather wear it and have someone feel more comfortable then have someone around me who's immunocompromised and be stressed about seeing me with no mask.
I don't really know. I kind of don't see the point of wearing them anymore - my H and I are both vaccinated, which means it's highly unlikely we'll get sick or be contagious and get others sick. We don't have any friends or relatives that live locally who aren't vaccinated, so the chances of spending any time in close contact with anyone who is sick or who we could get sick are very low.
That said, I live in a very liberal area and it appears so far that the norm will continue to be wearing masks in public places. If that continues, I'm certainly not going to deviate from it. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable or have people make assumptions about me because I'm not wearing one. So I am guessing at places like stores/restaurants I will continue.
I do hope my work drops the mask mandate soon. I hate wearing one sitting at my desk. I don't mind it so much walking around, though I do miss seeing faces and being able to use my face to communicate. If my work drops the requirement, I won't wear one there. We are requiring everyone to be vaccinated, though, and I think everyone I work with closely enough to meet with has been vaccinated already too.

Copying what I wrote on MMM: For me personally, I am still going to wear a mask when inside in public for 2 main reasons: 1) to make sure I’m not making strangers uncomfortable, with them wondering if I am unvaccinated and not wearing a mask, and 2) to help normalize mask wearing - hopefully unvaccinated (non-asshole non-anti-mask) people will be more comfortable wearing a mask if they aren’t the only one wearing one.

Inside shops and on public transport for sure (both are mandated still). Despite opening up for inside eating, most people are wearing masks to walk to their tables and this will continue for a while. Outside has never been mandated and so I've rarely worn it then (except when in busy central areas, which rarely happened).
I plan on wearing a mask on public transport for the rest of my life, tbh. Packed tube trains and the flu /colds go hand and hand, so I'll happily do this.

NYS just lifted the mask mandate as of today for vaccinated individuals.
I haven't been anywhere, besides the dentist office where it is still required. I was just talking to my friend and she said she went to Target and almost everyone was still masked. H went to the gym and he was so excited to not have to wear one while working out. He said they asked at check-in if you were not wearing a mask to confirm you were vaxxed, but were not requiring proof. He said it was about 50/50 of mask vs not.

I said I’d continue wearing it but by that I mean indoors. I am almost completely mask free outdoors at this point but would wear one in a crowd. I don’t anticipate being in a crowd any time soon but I would feel much more comfortable attending a social justice or political event now. I always carry one with me when I go on walks and will generally put it on if another group that is coming towards me is masked. That feels respectful to me because their level of comfort may be different than mine. Indoors, I always wear it and will until I have greater comfort with the percent of people vaxxed. ETA ... and for the foreseeable future I will still be avoiding optional indoor crowds like concerts and frankly even Target on a weekend.

I don't plan to wear mine outdoors. However, I do feel that I will continue to wear it indoors going to the grocery store, shopping etc for a while longer most likely.
Im in NYC and will not wear one unless I am somewhere indoors with my kids, like the grocery store or Target. My husband and I fully vaxed; I trust the CDC when they say I, as a fully vaccinated person, am safe. My unvaccinated kids still need to wear one, so I’ll wear one with them.
Whereever it's mandated, of course. Inside most stores, yes. Probably in most indoor situations except with those people I know are vaxxed. Outside, no. I haven't been wearing a mask outside for a while. The exception would be a crowded place like a concert, festival, etc.

I think I'll keep wearing them in public indoor places even when H and I are both vaccinated. I probably won't wear one outside or with people I also know are vaccinated.

I voted maybe/some occasions. I think I will still wear one in crowded indoor places such as the grocery store and Target. I can't shop at off times so these places are almost always crowded for me. I think (I haven't been in this position yet so trying to navigate as I go) I be will comfortable without a mask outdoors in semi-crowd such as the zoo, the park, etc, also if I do indoor dine I will comfortable moving around the restaurant (walking to the table, the bathroom, etc) with no mask, all if our local mandate allows. Also, like another poster said, I will follow the vibe of the location I am in. A small business where all the staff is wearing masks even if not mandated? I will wear mine out of consideration.
I only see myself wearing it when I go into a store with my child. Just as solidarity with him.
Otherwise I am comfortable ditching the mask for most situations. My employer just said tomorrow we can start not masking. I am fine going into stores without a mask. I am not a crowd person so I don't really seem myself confronted with that situation.
That being said.. this is all going to feel weird for awhile.

Yes, but six months is a very short period of time and we don’t know that six months is accurate for everyone including people with chronic illnesses or weakened immune systems. The trials primarily focused on healthy people.
Fauci was just saying today that a booster will probably be needed within a year and we don’t know how long the vaccine is effective.
