Yes, I'm yelling, just so there is no confusion as to what day of the week it is! LOL
I'm in my mouse infested office today. To recap, we opened 1 month later than all of our other office due to a mouse infestation, but they never told us there was a mouse infestation, just that they were "continuing to clean and sanitize". On my second day back it was discovered that my coworker who sits across the wall from me had mouse droppings all over the place in her cube, including on her desk, so I didn't come in the following week because they were "cleaning and sanitizing" again. Now I'm here today and another coworker has come in for the first time and found mouse droppings in her desk even though we were promised that our area would be clean. I'm so freaking grossed out and am feeling my anxiety spiking again. I already had to go to the doctor for increased blood pressure due to this crap and increased my anxiety medicine, it isn't right that we're still dealing with this when I could be home in my clean house.

Mice are super hard to get rid of. We had them in our old apartment, and it was a nightmare. They finally died in the walls, and the smell was enough to make me want to die.
Yuck! That is crazy that it is that badly infested that after all this, it isn't fixed!
Our HOA is repaving the parking lot and replacing all the sidewalks soon. We got a quote to have our front walkway and stoop replaced and I'm not sure if it's high? It is 64 square feet and they are saying it would be 2k. I was hoping it would be a discounted rate since they are doing all this other work, but I can't really tell. I have no idea what is standard, but I had hoped it would be less than that because it's not very long. Our stoop is cracked (but patched) and there is some gapping underneath it that can probably be temporarily fixed another way, and the walkway is not cracked or anything. I am leaning toward declining the work right now but I know it will have to be done eventually and I hate to pay more later if this IS a deal.
Owning a house is expensive, lol. I wish we could just do all this stuff at once and be done with it.
We’re going camping this weekend and I’m actually excited about it. I just hope it doesn’t rain all weekend like it did last year. I’m excited to get away from technology and eat snacks and drink. I’m a week and a half in to intermittent fasting and I really like it. I miss my breakfast only in that I really liked the breakfast I had every morning so I’ve eaten it for lunch once or twice. I’ve lost a couple of lbs but man, my body does NOT want to give up any weight without a major fight. Mice freak me out. I would not be able to work wondering if one is going to scurry by.

Rodents give me anxiety attacks. I felt my heart rate skyrocket reading this. I would legit quit and not return. And there is no way my family could survive if I did! I am that terrified of mice.
My return to office keeps getting pushed. They had a complete remodel scheduled for 2020. There was already a plan in place for everyone to WFH and return when complete. The pandemic hit and everything stopped. The new plan was to start when all of the North American offices opened and we would continue to WFH. That date has came and gone. They still have not started the remodeling. All our desk were donated. HR suggested we go back in office, but we have no place to work. I am seriously doubting my office is reopening. I have a feeling I will be permanently WFH.
We had a voluntary re-entry that started July 6. I went in this Tuesday and won't be doing it again until they make us go three days a week in September lol. And people in my department are kind of hoping we'll only have to go 2 days a week, but that might be a pipe dream.
It's starting to sink in that I'm going to be at my mom's/away from home for 10 nights/11 days That feels so long.
I was uploading all of our vaccine cards into the safe Hawaii travel thing in preparation for our trip in a few weeks and discovered that DS1’s card was accidentally filled out saying that his first dose was given on May 13th, 2007 (he was born in 2007 and his birthdate is written above so I’m guessing the person was just distracted and wrote the same year twice). Sigh. I mean, it’s so obviously a random mistake but I’m not messing around with this trip. So looks like I’ll be booking him a pre flight Covid test just to be on the safe side. I’ll figure out how to get a new card later. What a pain.
I’m getting really anxious to hear about when we’ll return to the office, and how often we’ll be teleworking. I need to line up before/after care for dd for the days I’ll be in the office.

My niece and nephew are up visiting for the month of July. My kids are over the moon that their cousins are here. They're splitting time between our house and my mom's house. I don't know if anyone recalls, but they spent all of lockdown last year with my mom and my family, due to their parents' jobs and the uncertainty of covid spread, the need for virtual school assistance, etc. We had such a good time altogether, we decided to relive it!
I've been taking my nephew to where I work for a basketball camp this week. I took my lunch hour a little early yesterday to walk over and see him play, since they end their camp time with 5 vs 5 games. He did SO WELL. He didn't notice I was there watching, so when he came out for pickup, he was like, "Aunt Alicia! I blocked somebody!" and I was like, "Yeah, dude, and you took an awesome shot, got an assist, and defended like crazy."
He lit up like a Christmas tree! "You saw me plaaay!"
Also, why are nice beach chairs so expensive? I like the back pack Tommy Bahama ones, but they’re like $100 a pop!
I’ve always held off on buying them. I have a $30 Walmart chair that’s mid-level quality. But I was at the beach the other day and saw someone in the TB chair and they had it completely folded back so they could lay down flat on it. I did not know they did this, or if all of the TB chairs have this capability. Now I want one!

Yes, that’s the kind I want! And they have cup holders, so no beer in the hot sand, lol.

Not a good week in this household. Marriage issues big time. Shitty stuff. And then my son's gf broke up with him last night and he's devastated. I got him some mcdonalds at midnight and stayed up and watched Schitt's creek with him until he fell asleep. Teenage heartbreak is such a killer.
A family member’s office had a mouse infestation too. They work in higher ed which you think would have a fairly robust building maintenance program. When they sent everyone home in a rush, nobody from maintenance or the cleaning staff went through the buildings and did anything about things like open containers of food or drink on a break room counter in another dept. in the same bldg… other staff wasn’t able to go back for several months and that was only to grab things quickly from their own office so they didn’t know about the problem for over a year. Security was supposed to be walking through several times a day and never said or did anything…it was gross.

I’m supposed to be organizing my kitchen pantry but I’m playing with the snake. She so awesome. She likes to be held already and loves to burrow in my shirt. Lol. Guess my boobs are warm. 😂
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

After watching a TikTok of a guy trying to get a snake into a bucket with one of those hook things, I've decided a snake is the animal I'd least like to be stuck in a small space with. Over spiders, cockroaches, rodents, etc.

Haha. I know, I fully own my weirdness!! (It’s why I don’t post pictures, lots of people are scared of snakes)
ETA: I don’t love crazy snakes. Only chill ones. There are many I won’t even try to handle bc they’re not known for liking people or being held.

I'm frustrated because I don't want to diet, I don't believe it in. BUT. I am FIRMLY between sizes in a really annoying way. Even after shopping in person, things either fit my butt/thighs or my waist. Not both. Ever. It is so annoying.
And bras! I usually wear ThirdLove and was in a 32 band, but it was feeling really tight on the loosest hook so I ordered a 34 and I had to move that to the tightest hook on the second day of wearing it. They don't make a 33. And the band sizes for other brands are different (Pepper, for example, based on my inches measurement of 31", puts me in a 36 in their bras). WTF bra industry?!

Can you make some swaps? Like cauliflower for potatoes, or green beans for fries? That's not dieting, it's just making different choices. Or have one less thing per day? Or some other small tweak?

That sounds terrible lol
I'm kidding. Sort of. I'm sure I could. And I kind of did starting back in April and fucking nothing happened lol.
I wish the BST board was more active. I've decided to sell my Rothys and would rather do it to someone on "here" than Mercari because I'm afraid of scammers.
Anyone want to buy navy or gray size 7 points? I've worn them "maybe" 10x.
My parents had to put their cat down this morning, very unexpectedly. My dad is absolutely devastated, and I have no idea how I’m going to tell DS. Seriously fuck this summer already.

I’d snag them if they were bigger! I really want some but can’t justify the price not knowing the fit and comfort for my wide and flat feet.
Patsy Baloney - yes, this month is too fast! My kids are having the best time at day camp and I feel so bad that it only lasts 1 more week 😭 I love hearing all the special and awesome stuff they’re doing.
I have my colonoscopy on Monday. My last one found double the number of polyps in 5 years so this one is 3 years later. I’m doing my 3rd different prep (Miralax - have done the old school and Clenpiq).
In awesome news, I am child free and not working the last week of the month! I tried to see my sister and a friend but it’s not working out, so trying to talk bf into a spa long weekend at a winery instead. I go back to work ON MY BIRTHDAY so I think this is a fair makeup.
We’ve been up in Massachusetts this week visiting my mom since Saturday. My religiously conservative mom who chooses not to engage in any kind of critical thinking.
When DD came out to her a few months ago, she said she might not agree, but she loved her and wanted her to be happy. Well, things came to a bigger head a few days ago and DD basically forced my mom to admit that she thinks anyone who “engages in homosexual behavior” is going to hell. My mom got all upset because “we’re asking her to change her beliefs and not follow the Bible.” Whatever.
There have been other things too, that have shown me my mom is so far from, maybe not who I thought she was, but who I thought she could be. I had really hoped my and my sister’s previous conversations with her had made some kind of impact.

We’re driving to CO today and then UT tomorrow. Last night driving in Iowa, we got caught in horrible storms with rain so bad you could not see anything with nowhere to safely pull off. So nerve wracking. Hoping for good weather on the roads today.

You're a good mom. He's going to remember that longer than he'll remember the girlfriend. <3
