Looks like the military families board isn't getting much traffic and thought maybe somebody had a family member go through Navy bootcamp in the last couple of years.
We found out SDs graduation date, and I am looking at hotel/airBnB/VRBO options. I assume she will not be allowed to stay overnight with us, she will have to sleep on base that weekend, is that right? My H was in bootcamp in the 90s but does not remember anything about this.
Just trying to figure out if we need to make space for her or not. She is not the most reliable source of information, she just tried to send letters with no stamps if that gives you an idea 🤦♀️
Is the Navy even allowing families at boot camp graduation? The Air Force stopped for a long time and just started again, but I think they’re about to go back to no spectators (if they haven’t already) due to COVID restrictions.
Have you looked to see if there are any applicable FB groups?
Thats a good point, when she left i think there were 4 people allowed. This really sucks, everything her recruiter has told us has been wrong (I dont know wtf he is doing) and getting info out of SD is difficult plus also wrong. I don't know how to plan for this.
I found a private FB group, I answered all their entry questions but they haven't accepted me yet. I see specific groups for graduation dates but there isn't one for hers yet. 😒
I got into the Facebook group and it looks like as of right now they can have 2 fully vaccinated family members attend and the recruits cannot leave the base.
I let her mom know so she has time to get vaccinated by then if she chooses 🙄 but I think if she doesn't then my other SD would go with H so I'm not likely to go at all which is a bummer.
When my husband graduated from bootcamp his whole family went to 6 flags for the day and we were going to do the same for SD like a family tradition. THANKS COVID/ANTIVAXXERS.
I just asked on a fb page I'm on, so I'll let you know if anyone knows! Is she able to do phone calls yet? I remember it was so confusing when my H graduated and that was without covid being an extra issue! When he was able to do a phone call though it was way easier then the letters.
Ok so people said what you heard. Two guests, fully vaccinated with proof.
One person just had a relative graduate early August. He was staying there after bootcamp so they checked into the barracks and then were free, but people who were going elsewhere got shipped out that day. So no time to really do anything.
Also I just remembered when my H graduated (like 10 years ago) he left the next day. So after graduation I think he was able to get a meal with me, but then had to go back and stay there to get packed and ready to leave.

She called her mom, then she called my H but he screened her call 😡 She called THRICE and eventually left a voicemail.
Also she has been instructed to call my phone, because I'm the most reliable out of the three parents. Does she call my phone? No she does not.
But also she is like the least reliable person. I have at least 10 examples of times where she made plans and gave us the wrong info so I can't really trust what she says either 🤣

haha omg. The military also doesn't help because they constantly change things anyways.
You can still go and go to Six Flags as planned. While only 2 family members will be allowed at the actual graduation, they will (should be) be showing it on cc tv. When my step son graduated, only ex and SS's brother went to the actual graduation, but many extended family traveled and hung out after.
