Also whenever we do these posts (which I love BTW) I always feel a little bad for the Realtor thinking even a fraction of the views are legit. But then I get over it because someone will buy this and the Realtor will dry their tears with a nice commission LOL
If you are selling a 25 million home, you know most of the views are just looks loos (even when it's the type that will generate a lot of interest). So I don't worry.
Like this 17 Million one. It isn't a "hot" home because a thousand people might buy it. It's "hot" because a bunch of people think "ooooo! I've always wondered what that place looks like inside" www.redfin.com/CA/San-Francisco/2500-Broadway-94115/home/1126796 - and that dining room table only seats 8 - and the room doesn't suit a bigger table. Strange.
When I see a house like this, my mind immediately goes to how much effort must go into keeping it clean. Ugh. And I know they hire cleaners, but still, what a pain the ass.

I'm in love with that library. Replace all the carved pillars with natural wood logs, remove the ivy and plant overload, and tone down the railings, and I think it could look amazing.

I can't believe none of those houses in the neighborhood have the screening around the pools. I know it's not as aesthetically pleasing, but how many times a year do they find a gator in their pool! Plus, bugs

Many houses on the Butler chain have screen lanais, but a lot of people like to be open to the lake.
It can potentially happen but it is extremely rare for a gator to come all the way and get in the pool, and when it has happened they have gotten through screens. Just part of Florida life.
It reminds me of this house a friend found today, which also has it's own cinema, plus a catering kitchen, "Parisian Boulevard," speakeasy, bistro, arcade, home gym, 2 elevators, a "Collectables gallery" which is...something, a ballroom with a stage, and a complete executive office suite set up with reception and conference room.

This is delightful. I am trying to imagine what the owners do in Allentown; I am familiar with the area and... a Parisian Blvd it is not.
A friend tracked down who the owners are. They have hospital wings named after them, apparently. The husband founded a night vision technology company in 1977 which helps soldiers distinguish friend from foe on the battlefield. Probably has other applications as well, but my guess is "a lucrative government contract."
Yes, the library is amazing! I agree it could be a cool vacation home. Maybe I'd buy it and use it as a vacation rental? I mean, if I had 25 million to throw around lol.
It's a bit much to live in but I think it's actually a pretty neat place.

That was my thought nearly exactly. I don't mind the railings, but the columns are too much.
I can't imagine the mosquitos with swamp like that. That deck is useless if you can't have evening cocktails. Nearly all the houses in the county where I grew up that were near the everglades had screened pools.
I want to rip those silk plant vines out so bad. I can't imagine the dust they'd collect.
The location looks really cool, but also super flood-prone.

Wait, did this thread get bumped by a bot/troll and then they got zapped? I don't see any other post between yours and the one by laurack from September.

Yes, it was bumped by a bot, but I didn't realize that when I was reading through the thread this morning. I guess the post has since been deleted. I was looking through the thread while watching the news and noticed the link from msmerymac was a house I'd just seen on tv...
