“Adverse events (AEs) were similar to other populations, with no cases of myocarditis or pericarditis, anaphylaxis or deaths among ages 5-11, and this was after data from an additional 1,590 vaccine recipients and 788 participants from the phase II/III trial (called cohort 2). This was per the agency's request "to allow for more robust assessment of serious adverse events and other adverse events of interest," FDA staff said.”
Have to take my car to Firestone today, my check engine light has been on for a while. I try to get an appointment with the dealership since my car is still under warranty but they are putting appointments over a month out. Super frustrating. I wonder if all of the chips shortages and stuff like that is making it impossible to get repairs done.

I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
I just saw that someone is suing Kellogg's for millions because strawberry Pop tarts contain more apple and pear than strawberry in the filling.
I just... don't understand.
Hey people are willing to sue their friend’s/neighbor’s home owners insurance—so this isn’t surprising. Lol. Fraudulent suits are what keep me in business, so part of me is disgusted and part of me is like, bring it on.

On what basis? It’s been a long time since I ate a strawberry pop tart, but I’m confident it says “and other natural flavors” somewhere on the box. And it’s not as if the ingredient list is a new thing after all these decades. People are wacko.

I mean, I guess I need to learn more. A lot of those “crazy” lawsuits of legend actually have very legitimate and understandable basis, but the media reports them as “omg a lady sued McDonalds because her coffee was too hot! She’s a litigious crazy lady!” And..no. So maybe this is a valid case against a large company purposely using misleading labeling?
Terrible weather here today. My dog flat out refused to walk in the torrential rain this morning. It’s supposed to be 50 mph winds this afternoon as well. DS1’s cross country coach runs them in all weather so poor kid is going to have a miserable practice.
It's not even 9 yet and it's been a day. Got to work and power is out to several buildings, including our already very dark parking garage. My building has power, but turns out the network is down so I'm using my phone as a hotspot. Getting anything done is painfully slow, and the VPN keeps dying. AND THEN I get a call from a number I don't recognize, and it's another employee at a contractor, apparently the main POC for our contract there quit yesterday and this poor guy got all of that workload dumped on him so he's trying to get caught up, access to systems, etc.
At this point I'm really only here until I can get lunch from my favorite place and then I'm going home where I can at least connect to the network.

My daughter lucy is 13. In the last year she’s become this punk rock/alternative/metal head. And thanks to Spotify/YouTube, she’s fallen in to some deep rabbit holes. It’s hilarious, she’s like a little kid discovering things and excitedly talking to H and me all about it.
The best part? Since she’s reading a lot about these bands and musician, she’s pronouncing them how she thinks they’re pronounced. So if anyone corrects how she pronounces megadeth’s Dave MOO-staine I will shank them

I managed to get some of my face wash with exfoliating beads in my eye during my shower yesterday, and some of the beads apparently got stuck under my eyelid. All I know is that I was rinsing my face and all of a sudden I felt excruciating pain like I was being stabbed in the eye, and standing with my eye open under the water didn't help, closing my eye didn't help, stumbling soaking wet out of the shower and rinsing with contact solution didn't help. My dh had already left for work, so I called my MIL in a panic, and luckily she was able to come to take my dd to school (we don't have buses this year) and then take me to urgent care, where they were able to remove the 'sand like beads' that were stuck under my eyelid (luckily after totally numbing my eye).
My eye is still very sore today, but luckily SO much better. I have to use antibiotic drops and not wear contacts for a week though. And while I'm grateful it wasn't worse and know that I'm lucky, I'm also cursing having to wear glasses when it's supposed to rain every day this week. I usually only wear my glasses at night to read in bed, so I am not used to wearing them with masks, in rain, in sun (no rx sunglasses). Going to be a long week.
My work is offering a drive-thru vaccination clinic for flu and Covid vaccines & boosters. I absolutely do not qualify for a booster, but man am I tempted lol. They even wrote in the email "As has been the case throughout the COVID-19 vaccination effort, people may self-attest to having a health condition that qualifies them for a booster does." It really feels like they're saying it's ok to fake it lol but they're probably just letting you know you don't need to go to your doctor for a note first.
DS2’s Halloween costume is now involving me sewing LED light strips all over a shirt and pants. I am a terrible sewer and it took an hour to do one arm and his torso last evening and then he could hardly get the shirt off. I really hope it’s not a flop, he’s so excited about it.

I'm waiting for the cable person to get our internet working at our new house. I guess the previous owners didn't use cable for internet, so, although there is cable, it hasn't been active since 2016, so they need to do...something to get it working. I have been using my phone hot spot yesterday and today and it's unreliable. I have a super important all day activity at work today and I need reliable internet. They should be here any minute and I really hope it's an easy fix. Edit: Up and Running!
Moving sucks, by the way. I am so thankful that we are able to have both houses for a little bit and that they are only 3 miles apart, so we can just move a little bit at a time. And our new house is so much bigger and laid out differently, so it feels like you are walking forever to get from one end to another. I hope I don't have a bathroom emergency.

I love it! DD is huge into older bands. I was able to score her a vintage Weezer shirt and kids at school wanted to know where she got it. It’s so amazing watching them become tiny adults into this crazy world.

Now I understand my parents’ mixed emotions when I started listening to “their” music. Luce gets so mad, H and I will be like “yeah we saw them however many times at this tiny place” or “I had that shirt!” Had, past tense is me, I don’t save things. She just inherited a bunch of H’s shirts Bc he throws nothing away

My best friend is going to her moms soon. She is going to dig through her closet for old shirts and clothes. DD has some old jackets that belonged to my aunt via my mom. It’s swag from an old rock radio station here. She had a kid offer her $100 for it. She came home and asked why would anyone want to buy an old jacket. It’s surreal watching trends circle back. It reminds me of the hippy trend in the 90s

H sold an old Pink Floyd shirt on eBay… for $200! I couldn’t believe it. People are nuts!

My H was up in the middle of the night with a sinus headache. Because of that, he slept in and didn't get out of bed until about 8:30. He then came into my home office, sat down, and started mansplaining my job to me. It took everything I had in me to just sit quietly and stare at him instead of jumping down his throat for it. He does this ALL THE TIME, which I think is more a factor of him not working and needing/wanting to have something to talk about than that he actually believes he knows my job better than me. He eventually wound down and said "I guess you probably don't need me in here trying to explain your own job to you, huh?" No, no I do not. Please go about your morning elsewhere!
My 10YO is now into opera, lol. He's been playing Mario vs Rabbids and there is some boss based on Phantom of the Opera and it's kicked off an entire thing where he's been singing around like a teeny Pavarotti.

I am volunteering at my kid's school for picture day and I am so excited. This is seriously my favorite volunteer job; the kids are all excited, dressed up and I do try to smooth out hair so they don't look too wild in the picture. lol

I wish you were at my kids school. I swear, they let my kids play in front of fans and allow them to do odd things with their clothes.
One year, my daughter's picture featured her in her undershirt with her sweater preppily on her shoulders.

Having had that happen, I make sure clothes are not askew and hair is in place. I used hair spray today in case I am not there when my girls have their pictures taken.
Trying to decide if I want to go to the USWNT game tonight. The thing is, not sure anyone would want to go with me.
We were going to buy a house, fell through due to inspections and lack Of negotiations on sellers part. But, we were knee deep in the “get the house ready to sell” process and now it is ready to sell- but we don’t have a house.
Nothing else is in our small little target area and I do not want to expand the search area.
Throwing it out to the universe that an amazing house that works for us will Appear soon.

I would get it. The more people that get it the better and if you aren’t “taking” a spot at CVS it opens it up for other people. I’ve also got to think your company isn’t going to run out - they’ve planned for this exact thing to happen (it’s good for them to get all employees vaccinated!).

I don't feel like I qualify either but I do work with the public, so I think technically speaking it is higher risk, but we don't have crowds here maybe 5 people max at one time, and others wandering around distanced apart. Anyway, I got it, and it totally sucked, but at least it is over with now.
Work is doing all these software updates. I couldn’t even get to google this morning. It’s so weird. Coworkers were like “hey, what is going on?”
It’s DH’s first day back in the office. He said his cube was at least clear today. The guy was supposed to move out Friday and still had not yesterday.

This just means it's stiffer when it gets out of place! I swear, my kids are like Pigpen from Peanuts.
