and before buying them new, I thought I'd ask if anyone has copies lying around they'd be willing to donate (all of mine are Kindle editions). I'm trying to build up a science-friendly library for my students, so if there are other sciencey-related books, even tangentally, please recommend them as well!
Here is what I'm looking for currently:
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

I will double check that I can locate my physical copy, but I have The Immortal Life.
ETA recommendations: Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers and a Primate's Memoir (Robert Sapolsky), The Greatest Show on Earth and The Selfish Gene (Richard Dawkins)
I also may have those to donate to your classroom as well, I just need to look!

Just send The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks! I was in grad school when the book came out and our science studies group had a rollicking debate about it. Rebecca Skloot also gave a talk on campus. Hopefully your students enjoy reading it!
Richard Dawkins books on their way! (And I had to laugh a bit because right now we have our smile money going to “the satanic temple” My in-laws would have a heart attack over everything in that order. 😂😂)
What’s the age range? Because I had to read Coma by Robin Cook for my high school honors bio class and still, 23 years later (sob), say that was one of THE BEST books I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

I teach HS Chem and AP Chem, so totally appropriate! Added it to my list.

I’m so grateful to you all, thank you!!
It’s coming your way…Just purchased it from your wishlist!
Somewhat related to the themes (women, science) I’m seeing in this list: The Girls of Atomic City: The Untold Story of the Women Who Helped Win World War II.
