The only thing on my ballot is one school board seat.
I'm still going to go vote because it's important and the choices are a current school board member and a 20-year-old aspiring rapper who as far as I can tell has no idea what a school board actually does.
Done! My city has a big mayoral election, but I'm not particularly enthused with either candidate (I still voted). I'm more concerned with our city council and school committee races.
@@@ We have a very important school referendum on the ballot. If it doesn't pass, things like music programs will be cut, class sizes will go to something like 40. Of course, the vote no people are only whining about masks in schools, and not the actual issues the district will face without this passing. Eyeroll.
Not in Mpls, but will be watching the results closely.
@@@@ We have four school board seats up. I’m very, very nervous. There are far right conservatives running that have been funded by a group doing this all over. Like the school board was already conservative. It can’t get MORE conservative.

I'm about to go after lunch. I'll be voting for NYC mayor, city council member, borough president, city comptroller and public advocate. I would love for my asshole city council member to lose re-election but he won't. And our borough president election is so embarrassing.
There are also a few ballot measures that if passed, would allow for no-excuse absentee voting and same-day voter registration. Of course the local GOP is advising everyone to vote No, but thankfully the rest of the city will vote to pass these.
The only thing to vote on here was our HOA Board. I hope I did it correctly ahead of tonight’s meeting but I’m not sure I did. The online option was inaccessible on Friday, which was supposed to be the last day to vote electronically, and I lost my official envelope, so submitted a ballot in person yesterday with my own envelope and my name signed across the seal. I was not impressed by the candidate statements, several of the candidates did not seem to have a clue. A few claimed to be “so involved in the community,” yet several of us who actually are super involved have never heard of them.

This is the first time I voted in the middle of the day on Election Day and it was pretty crowded. So I don't know if that's just how things are around lunch hours or if there is an uptick in turnout because people are big mad about vaccine mandates or something.

Went and voted early in person last week because it’s the first year NJ has offered it and I wanted to patronize it so we keep it. Hs ballot was mailed in. We have a huge election today since NJ Governor is on the ballot and is closer than I’m comfortable with. I’m expecting an upset unfortunately.
I am grateful our school board and city council have remained normal and civil. I have watched the stress from afar of other school districts dealing with just utter insanity.
I voted early. I was not going to take any chances of something happening on Election Day that would keep me from being able to vote.
@@@we’ve got two crazy people up for school board. If they win, it just might be the final straw for my family living here. I don’t want to live where a majority of people think that someone with no personal or professional experience with our school is the best person for the job simply because she’s a R and doesn’t want masks. And a guy who called our existing board members child abusers at a public meeting once. Inexcusable.
I power walked over to my polling site in a half an hour gap I had this AM in my schedule.
There were like 4 or 5 districts voting and I had to wait in line for my particular district. That never happens. Sure it was like 3 people ahead of me, but it was a first.

We moved and there are 4 districts at my new polling site. That was confusing for a moment. I was #20 (I think) in my district at 7:30 am...and I did not get a sticker. Some of the other districts in my site were handing them out!
@@@ Like everyone else we have anti-science nuts running for school board.
We also have an mj tax that looks good on paper, but is actually a really bad idea for public schools (it'll ultimately take away public school funding).

Damn, I’m jealous! We don’t have any local elections here today. I do have results tabs opened and constantly refreshing for races across a whole bunch of states and municipalities. Fingers crossed!
They moved my usual ballot box. The new one was just a couple of blocks away. There was a constant stream of people while I parked and dropped off my ballot so I hope that's a good sign for turnout. I live in a very blue area.
Done. The most contentious issue here was a proposition for a complete streets project. Whew, I'm glad this will be over after tonight. I had no idea bike lanes could inspire such vitriol.

Bike stuff is always wilddddddd somehow.
Oh boy, the most vitriol is ALWAYS in the bike lane threads in my neighborhood FB group. The old school townies haaaaaaaate bikes and are very “OMG BUT CARS! PARKING!”.

Here it’s people freaking out over parking and new development. Across the street from a lightrail stop, but if there aren’t two spaces per unit THEN WHERE WILL ALL THOSE PEOPLE PARK???!!!?? Your yard, Sally. They’re going to park in your yard. All of them. Starting tomorrow.
