Today is my boudoir shoot! I’m all waxed, shaved, and lotioned up, lol. She has someone doing my hair and makeup and I’m excited to look nice and be pampered a bit.

DD's rock project is turned in! I loathe b.s. projects that are really parent homework. I help my kids with homework daily, but no project should be assigned that requires the majority of the work to need parent help. Many kids out there don't have the help the project calls for and it's not fair they be graded the same as my kid. Also, I don't want to do projects.
DD and DS2 got their first doses yesterday. Walgreens did an excellent job. The Pharmacist was super kind to both kids and the whole process was so easy. Plus all staff had on masks. I usually get DS2's ADHD meds at CVS, but I'm switching to Walgreens now. The last several times in CVS there were no masks, they were all just angry and taking it out on customers.
I stopped and got a hot chocolate after dropping kids at school and am running in the butcher shop to grab some sandwiches for DH and I for lunch. They are an entire meal, so fresh and so dang good.
I just realized that the characters from Golden Girls were the same age when the series premiered as the characters in And Just Like That, give or take a few years. It is insane to me how much older women looked back in the 80's. (Sarah Jessica Parker is 56 and Rue McClanahan was 51)
I've been sitting at my desk for an hour and have done virtually no work, I just can't get myself going this morning.
My step-daughter pointed out to me yesterday that Thanksgiving is in 18, actually now 17, days and I've done nothing when normally I've at the very least got my menu planned at this point. Whoops.
Last night my anxiety was out of control. I couldn’t figure out why until I realized that the last 5 weeks have been awful, for different reasons, and it was anticipatory anxiety waiting to see what’s going to happen this week. DH is out of town for work, my to do list is very long, our weekend was really busy and as a result of all that, I slept really poorly last night. I hope I can figure out how to keep it together today. I have a work event tonight so it’s going to be a very long day. Send hair pats and good vibes.
I had to leave a cart full of items in the checkout at Target yesterday to rush A to Urgent Care because he doubled over in pain and started screaming about his stomach. He's full of poop.🙃 We're starting him on miralax daily. The peds nurse said we had to mix it in with gatorade for the electrolytes, but (not a bragplaint) my kid hates juice. I put it in water this morning and he drank that just fine.
He confused the doctor saying she was going to give him an enema with m&ms. Imagine his surprise, lol.
Three workdays for me, then I've got a couple days off at the end of the week. Really looking forward to having time to run errands, and get in a hike and a pedicure while the kids are in school. Fingers crossed I haven't ruined it by scheduling my COVID booster and flu shot for Wed morning at work.
DS got his first COVID shot this weekend, and is planning to show off his button to all of his friends and tell them it was really easy. Yes, kid, let's use peer pressure for good! I also got his second shot scheduled for a very convenient time/location, so feeling good about that too.
Need to get going on Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. I've got lots of lists and plans made, but now need to actually follow through.
I just realized that the characters from Golden Girls were the same age when the series premiered as the characters in And Just Like That, give or take a few years.
And *I* just realized on a recent re-watch how close I am (43) to if not the age Blanche is on the show, the age she pretends to be. Her little brother comes to visit and is like 45. 😭
Also, I think they all would have looked much, much younger with different hair and dye. My mom is almost 70 and just went gray and it's a huge difference in how old she appears. But I also think they probably all smoked at some point too and that's terrible for your skin, right?

My cat and dog are totally fine together, like they'll sleep and play together and all is well. But every now and then they wake up like it's Day 1 and they hate the idea of each other existing.
Today was Day 1 again apparently and their antics woke the baby up too early. This has not set a good tone for the day.
I hate mystery smells. I woke up this morning and upon walking into my living room... noticed a funny smell. I cannot figure out what it is! I have emptied the trash ( not like trash sits for a long time anyway), opened the windows, sprayed Febreeze. I hope one of those gets rid of whatever the funky smell is.
My Uncle is having a heart procedure on Wed and I am so nervous. He was supposed to have neck surgery in Sept.. but he went AFIB in the OR. So now he needs to have a procedure on his heart to hopefully stop him from being in AFIB.
I am annoyed (shocker) Before we had a dog I used to see ads for a miracle lint/fur remover tool alll over FB and Insta, and I wanted it but really had no need for it. Now that we have a dog and need it the ad is nowhere to be found and I can find no trace of such a contraption eve existing. Disappeared like a fart in the wind.

This is one I bought off a FB or Instagram ad. It does work well. I use it on our living room rug each week and the amount of hair I get up AFTER vacuuming is disgusting.

If he sheds and goes in your car you need this thing:
You rub it against the floors or cloth seats and it removes all the fur that doesn't come up. It's abrasive so I wouldn't use it on clothes necessarily.

It might be! I thought it had some cutsie name with fur worked into it. But this might be it! I was hoping to add it to my Amazon order but I might not be able to.

It's amazing for cars!!
He is always in the car! I have leather (which is good and bad, easy to clean but he slides all over). But for the floors and couch maybe?

There's the Furminator which is for using ON dogs and is EXCELLENT at getting extra hair off of them. Which by extension helps keep it off of your furniture and floors. I just Furminated Donny and Stella yesterday and wondered to myself how long I could do it before I stopped getting handfuls of fur off. It's never ending.

Yep--I have leather too, but this thing works great for the floors. Our couch is light colored and microfiber so I haven't tried it there. Fur doesn't stick to it too badly.

H is gone all week and I'm so excited! lol, love him, but also love not having to share the TV or worry about a "real" dinner. Not to mention my mom is watching the kids two evenings while I have book club and pottery class plus a short work week. I am actually excited for this week!
I had to spoil my son's big Xmas gift this weekend (an Xbox series x) because he was about to buy one for himself.
And then the website crashed literally just as the "add to cart" button went live for him, and he wouldn't have been able to buy it himself anyway. D'oh.
His reaction has been super sweet though. I think he is more upset on my behalf because I won't get the satisfaction of a big reveal Xmas morning. He has thanked me a million times for finding one and is so grateful and excited for it. He keeps saying he feels guilty for ruining the surprise but honestly his reaction has been so genuine and sweet that I really don't care. I'm so happy that he is so happy.
Apparently they took the GAP out of the big mall near me. I only found this out AFTER I lugged a few hundred dollars of returns there 🤦🏻♀️
A newish friend (a new neighbor) said she wants to have me over for wine/dessert/something once a week every week during these 7 weeks when my mom was dying. Just to help me get through it for the first year. So sweet and unnecessary and I really appreciate it. I’m still not entirely convinced the house wasn’t a bad decision but neighbors like this make me think it was a good one.

The Walgreens where my daughter got her shot was good and easy in terms of process too. Plus they had stuffies ready to hold in case kids were nervous. Two were crochet Caronavirus cells. My daughter punched one so she can "beat it", much to the pharmacist's delight. ;D
Aaaand, my session is Friday, not today. Which I found out after I drove 45 minutes to the studio and no one was there. My contract says Friday. Idk how I mixed it up!

This is such a kind gesture from your neighbor. I'm glad you are finding community even if you are still unsure about the house.
I took a bunch of stuff home to cut out for DS' kinder teacher. Today I'll be cutting that stuff out. I'm hoping I'll get it all done. My mom has a bunch on stuff to cut out as well so we're having a cutting out stuff party today while DS' at school.
In true random fashion, the sweatshirt that I am currently wearing is by far my oldest piece of clothing, but I literally have no idea where I got it from. I remember wearing it in high school (early 1990's) and it's from Carmel, California, so I'm thinking that one of my parents got it for me, but I'm not sure.

DD2 got hers at a big clinic this weekend too, and it was incredible. I kept thinking about the difference between when I got vaccinated and when she did. When I got mine (at the FEMA clinic in the convention center in Phila.) there was such a dark, post-apocalyptic feel to it. Lines and lines of people in winter clothes quietly plodding towards fully uniformed military personnel vs, hers, bright and sunny cheerful volunteers, superheroes, magicians, story tellers. I teared up during it. Everything was so bright an happy.
The man who runs it has made national news - it's a small local pharmacy and he was one of the first to roll out clinics for the general public last spring. He dresses up like Superman. He was there yesterday and I wanted to ask for a picture with him and DD but I didn't want to be weird. I'm kicking myself though bc he def. would have done it.

We have work to do to our old house before we can list it and I'm done with it. I really want to just put it on the market "as-is" and take less $, but that's foolish. Today is painting and getting rid of junk. It's really not in bad shape, but we were in the middle of a few projects that we need to finish and we need to clean up the outside.
I am lazy and just want to settle into our new place.
I have a low level cold or something that's just making me exhausted, and it's making working such a struggle. I just want to nap! Though I guess that's not too different from a normal WFH day when I'm snuggled on the couch with my dog.
We took pictures with extended family and just got the gallery to choose from. I'm having a really hard time deciding how to divide up who gets to choose how many pictures and how much extra everyone has to pay if we go over the 20 pictures included in the package. I didn't think it would be this complicated!

I had a nice weekend away. I read a ton, did some craft stuff, and did a face mask every night. I really need to do that more often. I didn't get as much hiking in as I'd planned to, the nature center told me there are several young black bears in the area and advised against hiking alone, so nope!
I am not feeling very well today. I am guessing it is because my period started (and my periods are likely to be weird now that I've had some of my reproductive organs removed...) and I had a really busy weekend. I did wake up overnight with weird chest pain, but I'm 98% sure that it was muscular vs anything to do with my heart - I've had a tweaked spot on my shoulder for the last several days that was causing my neck to hurt when I turn my head, and it felt like the pain was connected to that. I think the pain was too high and far to the left to be heart. Plus I just had a totally normal EKG a few weeks ago. Anyway, of course the anxious part of me is like "do I feel crappy because something is wrong?". I have to give a training via Zoom from 1-3 today and I hope I can pull it together for that.
We had a great time at the football game yesterday, but it made me sad that we live in the suburbs. We parked near our old apartment and it took over an hour to get home with traffic. We had a good laugh at this civilian who got out of his car and was trying to direct traffic to allow a truck to pull out of a parking garage and cross 4 lanes of traffic to get to where they needed to be. He knocked on our window and was like "hey can you guys back up so they can get out?". I was like.... um no. That's not how this works. And then I cracked up because I am usually nice to a point of fault, but I guess living in the city and driving in the city has changed me. I just basically said "wait your turn, and you can't do what you're trying to do" and closed my window.
