I think my parents are going to get my sister and BIL a Solo Stove for Christmas (probably the Bonfire), so I was thinking I might get them some accessories. Which ones do you like and get a lot of use out of? This will be for their patio/backyard — they don’t go camping or tailgating or anything like that.
The main thing we needed was kindling and wood. It requires lots until it gets hot enough that it doesn’t smoke anymore. Otherwise we don’t use much in terms of accessories. If they would do s’mores or roast hot dogs you can get them a set of that.
They sell packets that will make the flames different colors. Although we don’t have a solo stove, so not sure if they’re safe for it. We have a built-in fire pit.
The spark shield is expensive but seems worth having. Correct?
Does anyone have the white cover that comes with the bundles? Does it have the same functionality as the weatherprooof black/gray covers sold separately??? I tried to ask this with online chat but "Ember" the computer couldn't handle my inquiry.
gretchenindisguise, is it just the white cover that comes in the bundles, or did you separately order the black or gray? Still trying to figure out if the white cover that comes in bundles is actually weatherproof at all or just a thin canvas cover. Thanks.

I believe it was in a bundle and white, its grayed up over the year lol. I can’t find my original receipt though.
We leave it outside and with the cover it’s stayed in great shape. We live in San Diego though, so while we get some rain, we get no snow.

The white one has gotten super gray and funky looking but it works perfectly. I’m glad to see they have gray and black now, I’d choose that

Definitely the weatherproof cover. Ours came with a carrying case but we purchased the cover separately. We don’t have the spark cover and it hasn’t been an issue.
We have had the Bonfire for a couple of years now. It came with a carry case, but we recently purchased the cover. We also have the spark shield as we moved it from the driveway to our Trex deck this season, and we were concerned about embers on the deck and furniture. It’s a stupid design as it’s cumbersome to remove the shield to add more wood, but we have found it necessary on our deck. We didn’t need it on the driveway. We love the Mystical Firepackets from Amazon. They work better than the Solo brand, and they are cheaper, too.
We just got one, but I would definitely recommend the stand, the cover, or the shield. The only one we don't have is the shield, but agree it would be nice to prevent sparks from flying out.
We have the cover, shield and stand. I definitely think those are worth it. We also have the marshmallow sticks but am always afraid a kid is going to skewer another kid with them, ha
