We're looking for a comfortable sectional + ottoman for our living area that can accommodate both short (5'2") and tall (6'2") people, and can sit 8-ish people. We checked out Lovesac, and I love that it has both shallow and deep seat depths. They also say it has a lifetime structural warranty, but don't know if this is what drives the cost of this furniture so much?
It's just me, DH and our dog (who isn't allowed on our couch). No kids, but we have family closeby who will likely stop over and hang out often.
Also open to other furniture brand recommendations!
To me, yes it was/is worth it. 2 adults, 2 kids, and our giant breed dog. Cleans SO EASY. Husband and i routinely sleep on it for kid or dog reasons (when kid 2 is sick she will only sleep in bed with me, so H takes the couch; or our dog will need to go out in the middle of the night so ill take the couch -shes getting older and we can usually tell when that will happen based on her last trip out before bed).
My friend raves about hers. She got the main pieces 2-3 years ago and purchased a couple additional ones recently. You can’t even tell which pieces are the old ones. She says they were worth every penny they spent.
I voted no but maybe am more ss. We have one and I do like that you can configure it in many ways. And structurally, the frame is sturdy. And it cleans up great. Our slipcovers still look new (it’s me, H, 12 y/o son, 3 cats). It gets a lot of use as it’s in the tv room. Edited to add: we did buy the drink holders that go over the aromas and those are great and the coffee table thing that goes over one of the footstools which we also like.
BUT. I have found that the cushions themselves have not held up well. They feel too squishy now. My feet do touch the floor but I still feel slouchy in it. I am just shy of 5’2” and my similarly sized sister and mother agree that it’s not very comfortable. Furthermore, the idea that you can just swap out for new slip covers if you want to change up the look is unrealistic IMO. They are expensive. When it’s time for another sofa I told MH that I don’t want another sactional. Maybe they’ve improved their cushion material over the years.
We like ours, but we got it 40% off a few years ago and it was really expensive even after the discount. It’s actually pretty hard to take the covers off of the frame parts and put them back on, so we probably don’t do it as often as we should.
The thing is also HUGE. Definitely measure your space before buying because the scale is much larger than other L-shaped sofas.
ETA: ours is comfortable enough I guess. I like a firmer sofa and not a “sink into it” kind of sofa. They do have a plusher type of cushions, which we did not get, that are supposed to be less firm, but they are also more expensive.
We have it in our basement media room. For that purpose it is totally worth it for us - we could fit it down the basement stairs due to the pieces, just over thanksgiving we were able to easily reconfigure it for extra sleeping space for visiting family, we can let the dog up on it and not worry etc.
I will say we do not find it as comfortable as a regular couch. It’s fine and we are very happy with it as a solution for what we needed in our basement, but if comfort is a top priority it won’t fit the bill. It’s not super uncomfortable, but it’s not a lounging/fall asleep on it type of couch.
We were about to get one but my H sat on it and hated it. Even with it turned the “deep” way it wasn’t very deep and he thought the back was really low. So, my advice would be to find a showroom and sit on it before you spend the money.
My dad has one and I don’t think it’s comfortable. It looks nice, but it’s very structured and stiff. So if you are looking for more of a lounging/comfy sectional, I don’t think I would recommend it.

We got one a few months ago and are very happy with it so far. We went to a showroom to make sure we found it comfortable and they were really helpful piecing together what we needed. We needed a new couch but are planning a move in less than a year so we didn’t want to buy something that wouldn’t work in our next house. So we just bought a basic 3 piece couch and will add on as needed when we move. Other people have commented that it’s really comfortable also. Maybe there are others who don’t think it is, but I don’t really care, we have to find it comfortable for every day. I think there are 2 kinds of cushions to choose from. We choose the less squishy ones. Comfort is a very individual thing, so it’s hard to say what you find comfortable vs others.
Since you wrote the bit about it being a “lifetime structural warranty”, I will add that every furniture company I have bought from says this and caps “lifetime” at 15 years in the paperwork. It’s a thing.
We love ours. I prefer to lounge and lay on couches rather than sit so I love that it’s big and modular. We have our main couch currently arranged in a 4x2 rectangle to accommodate the Christmas tree and our whole family can stretch out on it comfortably. I don’t think it would be worth it as a regular 3 seat couch though.

We absolutely love ours. We think it’s comfortable, I nap on it regularly. It is somewhat difficult to get the covers off the sides and get them back on, but the fact that we can is great. It’s just me, DH, DS, and a cat. We will be using it as a bed Christmas Eve for a guest. First time we’ll be turning it into a bed!
My daughter loves hers. She got it at 40% off and it was still pushing $6K, and she's purchased additional pieces since. (She's also found a site where you can buy pieces at a discount that she got her last couple pieces from.) I love the portability and the fact that you can form it how you want. Hers is basically 2x4 now, or pretty much a queen size bedx2 or some such.
I'd like one because of the convertability but the cost just kind of kills it for me a little bit. I'm cheap.

I’d love to know what the discount website is!
Ours is L-shaped (5 seats + 8 sides) and we have a storage ottoman. It was a little over $2k on 40% off sale, which seems reasonable for a large sofa. I couldn’t imagine paying full price!! And the biggest sale I’ve seen since then is 30% off.
A lot of military families love these because they can be reconfigured when we move to a new house, or even split into multiple pieces to fit into a new space.

Precisely why she got hers. Two houses so far and each configured differently. I'll ask her where she got the last couple pieces. It was frames but not covers. Covers she has to get from LoveSac. I believe she found it on FB, on one of her home decorating pages. But that's just me thinking I know her.
