I know several of us suffer from plantar fasciitis here. I’ve realized that I may need to give up on finding shoes that work for my feet off the shelf and instead replace the insoles. But there are so many types and range in price from cheap (Dr Scholls) to expensive (Vionic). Does anyone have recommendations for insoles that are good for PF?

I have 3 pairs of shoes from orthofeet.com. From their PF line . They also sell the inserts separately, that are in the shoes I have. I’ve been very happy with the shoes. I haven’t tried the separate inserts from there yet. (Hopefully won’t need to.). It seems like my feet may finally be starting to get better after over six months of extreme PL pain. Good luck, I hope your feet feel better soon!
I have the Dr. Scholl’s inserts. I actually just put them in about a week ago. I hate to say it but after feeling like they made a big difference on day one, I’m back to my usual level of discomfort. I don’t necessarily blame the inserts though. I’m up in weight and I think that’s a contributing factor.
With PF, you are looking for something with rigidity through the arch to support your arches from collapsing. Good brands to try are: Superfeet, Tacco, Cadence, Powerstep, Spenco.

I agree, they felt good day one and then it seemed like they stopped working.

I use the green superfeet in Brooks tennis shoes and wear those probably 90% of the time. I need to change out both the shoes and the insoles every ~5 months (I average about 15,000 steps per day including using my treadmill).
I have custom insoles from a podiatrist that were better than the superfeet, but those cost about $250 after insurance, so after they got worn out I switched to the superfeet.
If you have an athletic shoe store like Fleet Feet near you, they will examine your foot and tell you which color superfeet might be best for you.
I like super feet. That said, after I got over the initial pain, I’ve slacked off in the fancy insoles. I have a bunch of no name, Amazon shit. And the PF hasn’t come back. But, I always, always, always have something with decent arch support (or heels, raising my heel has a similar effect on my arches 🤷♀️).. Either a brand like Taos or an insole in shoes.
My PCP sent me to a specialty shoe store that does orthopedics. The fitter there makes me a "semi-custom" orthotic that run me about as much as a Vionic would.

I have the super feet insoles. I mostly use them in my hiking boots, and they help, but aren't magic. I have these little things from amazon, and they help a ton. I wear them when I wear my hiking boots with the insoles, and any other time I am wearing shoes for the most part. I wear Birkenstock sandals around the house, which seem to help, but I have high arches, so often wear the little amazon things, too. Stylish, I know, but working feet are a high priority. www.amazon.com/dp/B08THVP6W5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
