DS' school is delayed 3 hours due to icy roads. That means he goes to school at 11:30am for a start time of 11:55am. A very short day.
My goal is to stay home the whole long weekend to keep DS well so he can go to his feeding therapy eval on Tuesday morning. *crosses everything* If I have to cancel it for a second time due to illness when it could easily pivot to telehealth but can't due to fucked up insurance reasons... I will be very displeased.
I went to dinner with my bestie last night and may have overnight my weeknight tolerance for margaritas. Whoops.
No plans this weekend other than putting my spices in to the new, matching jars I just bought from Amazon that I am ridiculously excited about. That and taking pictures of some stuff that I picked up at some Estate Sales a few years back that I never got around to selling.
We ordered a new vehicle back in June and it’s finally scheduled for building. Weeeee! Hopefully we will have it in February. We have downsized to one vehicle and it’s been great so far. Takes a little more planning but it’s nice. Our new one is a Ford Maverick and I’m super excited. I’ve only ever had Toyota/Volvo and I’ve never had hybrid. We wanted electric but it’s just too dicey still. That’s hopefully 5 years out.
Crazy wild thing is that the car we are getting is in so high demand that I’ve seen “used” ones listed for double the new list price. Who knows if they sell for that but the market is intense right now. I’m going to be able to sell my existing car for about 1000 less than I paid for it 4 years ago. Not a bad accidental investment.

omglol that's exciting! The vehicle market is insane. I got a new Telluride in July that I ordered in March. It was a long wait, but exactly what I wanted and definitely worth the wait. We found the one dealer in our large metro area selling them at MSRP. We went to another dealer who wanted $10k over MSRP.
We bought a Chevy truck for DH at the end of 2019. He was rear-ended in May and didn't want to deal with a "new" vehicle having a pretty major accident on it. We ended up having it fixed, then traded it to a dealer, who paid us $4k more for it than we originally paid. It had 20k miles, 2 years, and an accident on it. We couldn't pass up that deal!

I have to work 2 days of the 3-day weekend and I'm bitter about it!! Maybe we'll get snow and I can get those days back. Georgia has shown we can't handle snow.

I decided to take today off, so now I have a 4-day weekend!! I’m liking that decision!! DH took my car, because his car has some funky electrical issue, so I’m trying to decide if I want to deal with that to go get coffee and a pastry. All it does is constantly lock/unlock the doors, and randomly the alarm will go off. Haha. He’s got the part to fix it this weekend.
I have plans to make split pea soup and PB blossoms this weekend. We will also work on the kids art room and garage so we can put the gym in there.

I heard the news talking about the First Lady coming to visit. I was cringing and irritated. I tuned out the TV. I walked back in the room and realized it was Jill Biden. I have no idea why I thought it’s was Orange Face’s wife.

Good news: I got 4 tickets to the local Turnpike Troubadours show!
Bad news: It didn't say until you got in that it's standing-only. Blech. SO I got the cheapest tickets because I'm not paying $150 to stand up all night.
Good news: My cousin had someone cancel on her birthday trip so there's an available room and I could go to one of my favorite places (San Miguel de Allende) for only 25K airline miles.
Bad news: It's Feb 5 so most certainly a terrible time to fly thanks to STILL FUCKING COVID so I'll probably pass.
I'm so glad it's Friday and that there is a 3 day weekend! I am hoping to do some painting on Sunday and/or Monday. My kitchen/living room has looked like garbage for months because I used some paint sample and did some patching, and then just left it. The kitchen just needs one wall redone and some touch ups, but the living room needs the entire thing painted. Thankfully it's not a huge room and the ceilings are low, so the biggest hassle really is just moving all of our furniture and wall hangings. But it will likely take at least a full day because I seem to do everything slowly.
Tomorrow we are having friends over to play games. We basically never have people over - I think the last time we had friends over was almost 3 years ago, and we've only hosted a couple of times total since we've lived in Maryland. Now that we live in the suburbs, I always kind of assume nobody is going to want to come over anyway because it's kind of far. Anyway, it's nice to have plans. It's been a couple of months since I've gotten together with anyone.
Does anyone know details about the medical records law? Is there a rule that certain records must be withheld from the patient?
I had an mri on Tuesday. Today I got an email from my doctor saying I need to meet with her on next Tuesday to discuss the results. This has never happened to me since that medical records law changed. All my recent stuff has been released to me well before the doctor reached out, if they even reached out at all. Including MRIs.
My only thought is that it’s bad news and they don’t want me reading it on my own, but now I get to sit in an anxiety spiral until Tuesday afternoon and that is not good for my mental health.
omglol, my DH has a scan every year as a cancer survivor and his results were not released this year in his portal until after he met with his doctor. His scan was fine.
I posted something on the buy nothing group, but DH already told my neighbor she could have it. I don’t know how the etiquette works on that. Crap.
It should be nbd. Just explain what happened in your original post and move on.
That happened to me on FB marketplace over a twin bed I was going to purchase. The poster's H sold it to someone else without her knowledge. She felt bad. It was no one's fault. I'm not crazy so I just moved on.

I just tried to order lunch from Moes through UberEats. I just googled Moes delivery and UberEats came up and when I put my address in, it said available, so I was going to use them even though I didn't think I had an UberEats account yet. I added my food, went to check out, and it promted me to make an account, so I did. It had to text me a verification code, added that, and then it went to a screen that wouldn't load. I refreshed, and I had no food in my cart. Annoying, but ok. I went to add the food again, and now everything shows up as unavailable. So either Moes isn't actually open or they don't deliver to me or the page is messed up or whatever, but it looks like I'm not getting Moes, so I'm bummed and hungry and we have nothing here I want to eat.
I'm looking forward to the 3 day weekend. My mom was going to do a 1 on 1 day with dd on Monday, but we are supposed to get a bunch of snow sunday night through monday, so she just asked if she could pick her up from school today and do an afternoon with her today instead. I had to call the school to let them know grandma was picking up, and that was all I said, so I hope dd is ok with the change in plans (not sure why she wouldn't be, but who knows with my moody 10 year old). Now I need to think of something fun to do with ds tonight so he doesn't feel bad (my mom will do a 1 on 1 with him next).

omglol - I’ve had several breast and brain MRIs and the anxiety is real. My oncologist / neurologist have never released the results before talking to me and all of them have been benign, but had something or other they wanted to discuss so I didn’t spiral.
Of course, I spiraled anyway lol. Can you see if they will do a call with you before Tuesday? That’s a long time to wait.
I'm trying to pick up a new hobby. And I've decided to try sewing with the intent of being able to make my own clothes. There's a local business that has a woman who teaches beginners and advanced sewing lessons. I'm going to take the beginner's class but she hasn't called me back yet... yikes. But now I'm deep into looking up sewing machines but my mom says all the new machines are shit and I don't accept this answer.
I tried out rock climbing in my pursuit of a new hobby and auto belays scared the shit out of me and my wrists and fingers hurt for FIVE DAYS after doing it for an hour.

I'm starting to get frequent migraines. I just passed some time with auras in the privacy of my office, lol.
I was halfway hoping the cold that I have was covid so I could just not work my last week on my current job, but alas, I was negative for this week's spit test.

FB regularly shows me ads for FB dating. I feel like between the pictures I post of my baby, the tagging of FI and FI and my general togetherness, the algorithm should know by now that I am not in fact a single searching for love. This is truly random and totally unimportant, it's just funny that they can show me ads for something I just said out loud and make me think my phone is listening but can't put together a relationship that is very obvious.
expectantsteelerfan, UberEats has a bad history of adding restaurants to the site without actually having the business's consent or knowledge. If the restaurant doesn't advertise that they deliver by UE, I would assume they don't actually partner with UE and UE is doing some shady shit.
@lemonlover, Sewing is awesome, but there's a steeeep learning curve for clothing. If you pop over to the crafts board we will give you alllll kinds of advice and direction. As for machines, get what you can afford. You need one that will do a straight stitch, reverse, and zig zag. Automatic button holes are a plus, but not a requirement, and you'll want a zipper foot (most come with one, but you may need to buy one if it doesn't). If you can find a vintage machine, go for it, but while you're learning I completely disagree with your mom. Get something cheap to mid-range so you're not investing a ton of money until you know what you want in a higher end machine. I don't do clothes often, but I have a Kenmore that was a few hundred new and it has served me very well for 15ish years now.
underwaterrhymes and circa1978 Thank you for your responses! Randomly, the imaging place just released them. It is bad, but now I know and now I can feel less out of control of my thoughts and I’m glad I have an appt Tuesday to learn what next.
I am crying and a mess and mostly relieved and that makes me feel insane, because who is relieved at bad news but omfg it’s not just in my head, I’m not imagining things, it is real. That is such a relief after so long.

Thanks! I didn't even think about the craft board here. The last time I really used a sewing machine was in middle school when we all made gym bags and a stuffed animal for home ec. My mom sews sometimes and will hem clothes and curtains but I can only recall her making a simple dress for Halloween for my sister and a god awful vest with animals and an ARK on it. The lessons are 12 hours split over three weekends. The advanced class is the same and then she also does private lessons after that. Again, trying to test out hobbies that won't kill me. Also trying to make some local friends in the process.
I hate when things that should be easy aren’t. My dad has a check to deposit and a form he has to have notarized for a related matter. It was sent to me because someone had to sign for the delivery. NBD, he’d want me to go to the notary with him anyway.
The idea was to meet him at his bank so he could sign it in front of a notary and deposit the check. But his bank is merging with another bank and his closest location has closed. NBD. We can go to the further away location.
Why can’t I get anyone on the phone or via email or chat or the actual website to confirm there is a notary at this branch and that the lobby is in fact open for business during Covid/the merger? The website gives opposing info depending on what page you are looking at.
This should be an easy five minute task. Why isn’t it? Why must the world vex me?
