My H slept on the couch again last night. I use to think that my dogs slept draped all over me because my H was starfishing his half of the King Sized bed. Nope. Even with the entire bed free, I still woke up in the middle of the night last night with all 3 dogs sleeping right up against me. Sigh.
I bought all new matching glass bottles for my spices and many hours later, it gives me so much joy to have everything so organized. I have 48 bottles done so far and that doesn't even touch the amount of spice blends I have in a different cabinet. I might have a problem LOL

I just received a shipment notification text for the new duvet cover that I ordered a few weeks ago, which had originally indicated a late-April delivery time at the time of purchase. So that has made me happy. Once it arrives, I'll decide if I want to repaint our room (from a bluish-green color to something more neutral). (I hate painting, but thankfully I have a friend who enjoys it and would be willing to help me out in exchange for a bottle of wine. )
We have decided to dial way back on the amount of TV watching and video game playing our son does. He took the discussion well, but was somewhat surprised when it happened! My husband was making dinner and I suggested we play hangman. And now I will be playing hangman every evening for the rest of my life.
I slept like shit last night so I'm dragging today.
My manager (who I already felt pretty disconnected from for a few reasons) is on a leave of absence to care for her mother who is ill in another country. So now I have a 1:1 with a different director and it's going to be so awkward.

An employee retired last summer. I'm currently doing a reorg of our department and have a part-time position open. I called the retiree and asked her if she'd be interested, she didn't even hear what it was and said no. I love it and hope I do the same when I'm retired.

Well the off Broadway show that my partner wrote the music for after lots of covid delays seems to FINALLY be opening today! Omg. So many years in the works. Previews for a few weeks then official opening is supposed to be next month. Cases are coming down quickly so let’s hope for no more interruptions, crossing fingers.
wanderingback, that is incredible! Congrats to your SO!
@sameoldstory, my dog has started this thing where he wants to sleep right up against the door. He doesn't want to be on the other side, because if we let him out, he just sleeps on that side. But he gets all snuggled up and sort of bangs against the door all night and it keeps waking me up. Dude, there is a cozy human bed and a dog bed right here! Why?
We’ve selected our exchange student for next year! Lilly from Germany should be joining us in August, just need written approval from the school.
Also it looks like we may be temporarily hosting a boy from France starting Sunday. His host family is facing some medical issues and they’re no longer able to host. I’ve made it clear we can’t keep him permanently, but we’re willing to take him on a temp basis.

Wow wanderingback that is so cool. Hope you get to see the show soon and that it does well!
Bernadine you are so kind taking on a 2nd exchange student now. Glad to hear everything worked out with your current student. Do you think in the future you will visit them in their home countries? That's what my relatives who have hosted did.
The neighbors behind us have been having tree work done for the three days.
I have no idea what they had done, other than the large tree in their front yard has had every bit of green chopped off. I don't really care what they had done, but the noise from the saws and the chipper is really annoying.
One day is nbd, but three days of that noise when you have a headache feels like a lifetime.
I ordered curtains and a coverlet (non matching, but color coordinating) for our bedroom. They were both delivered on Tuesday, and I love the curtains, but one of the colors is off on the coverlet, so now I have to send it back and go back to searching. Boo.
This kind of thing is what makes shopping online so difficult...colormatching is pretty much a crapshoot. Why are there 9,786,543,322 shades of white...or gray? I am half tempted to get the matching quilt, (even though matchy matchy stuff makes me twitchy), just so that I can use the solid side.
At least then I could count on the color being right, although I am wondering if just knowing that the other side matched would be enough to bug the heck out of me. I am oddly affected by that kind of stuff, (colors, patterns, etc....), and even though I know that it is ridiculous, it seems to just be how I am wired.
I finished watching Emily in Paris this morning. It's a perfect show to watch while on the elliptical, so I'm sad the season is done. I think I might try Crazy Ex-Girlfriend next.
My new job has felt like such a slow start, but I talked to my supervisor this morning and feel like I have a decent list of things to get started on now. It's weird figuring all this out remotely. Then again, this is my 3rd job since we moved here almost 4 years ago and they all have had weird, isolating starts, so I am starting to wonder if I'm the problem lol. I really like my supervisor and think she is doing the best she can, but she's super busy and without being able to drop by her office or see her in the hallway, it's awkward trying to build a relationship. Also I know I can be kind of awkward about stuff, too. I think I have good social skills but there is a huge difference between being able to make small talk and be friendly to people and figuring out an actual relationship with them. I hope it gets easier once this COVID wave passes.

Yes, I would love to visit them! Our current student, G, I think will always be special to us, because she’s our first. And she’s so easy- very mature and responsible.
Today is the first day of girl scout cookie sales here. DD is SO excited to sell this year. I have a love/hate relationship with cookies sales. LOL. We are doing booth sales for the first time this year, and it is supposed to be frigid for our first one. I bought hand warmers and am hoping for the best.
My H left at 1 am to spread salt for a snowstorm. And then it didn't even start snowing until a couple hours ago. I'm pretty sure he slept for a couple hours in a CVS parking lot, but it's exhausting. I don't know why he does this to himself. (People in snow-prone areas: appreciate your plow drivers! It is brutal)

This is me, without much of the love (the kids love it though). Booths drive me to ruin (I try to make them easier for everyone else - but end up making it all harder for myself. lol). I'm the cookie parent, though, so I brought it on myself.

How fantastic! This has been such a tumultuous time for performers and creatives. I'm so glad it's finally happening.
I wish we could know (in a completely nonintrusive, anonymous way) which play and maybe even watch a YouTube clip of part of a rehearsal or listen to a song/musical piece. We'll be crossing all our fingers for a good start.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is so, so good!
So after EIP I came across this article, which prompted me to watch The Big Leap (Fox, on Hulu) and I loved it!
I realized I’m at a weird age. I know people my age that are having their 1st children. I also know people my age who have children graduating from high school this year. I don’t know why this is blowing my mind…
So I'm rewatching SATC, right? It occurred to me, do Carrie's boyfriends not read her column? Because she's often writing things about them or the relationship that they don't know or shouldn't know. I'm sure the show is blurring the lines between her inner monologue and the column, but then her thoughts continue into the "I couldn't help but wonder" and she's typing so she must be including it in her column. These are the things I think about lol.

Apparently she had a very, very unpopular column. None of her boyfriends nor their friends had ever heard of it.

My brother’s oldest had a baby 6 weeks after I had a baby.
So, I had two skin tags around my bikini line from training for a 5k years ago that bothered me. I was going to go to a derm and get them removed but decided to do the band method on them. It worked. I had to super glue the bands in place since the area is a high rub place but by day 3 they were dry and crispy and on day 4 they fell off. Totally would recommend and wish I did it sooner. I have another skin tag near my arm pit and I want to try it but its really, really small. I also kinda want to snip it off with scissors but I'm a wimp.

Anyone else not feel hungry, then eat something because you should and then suddenly you are starving? This happens to me all the time. I didn’t feel hungry but hadn’t eaten all day, so ate some crackers with peanut butter and now I could eat a massive steak dinner.
