38. I think this is probably universal, but I don't feel like what I thought 38 would feel like. I was 14/15 when my mom was 38. My memories of her are...not how I feel now, does that make sense?
I will be 50 in April. I can confirm, you will continue to feel this way as you get even older just maybe a little more stiff in the AM.
My BFF (we met in HS) is 52 and when we hang it’s like it’s the mid 90’s and no time has changed but technically is better.

I believe it. I remember my grandmother saying (when she was in her 70s) that she was surprised every time she looked in the mirror because she felt 30-something in her mind and for a split second was always like "Who is that old lady?!"

I'm 53. It seems so weird to say that age. I'm with all of you who don't feel that they could be that age. But, then again, the body aches and perimenopause tell me that, yes, you are middle aged. Sigh.
I'm sure not having kids is contributing to the not really feeling like an adult. Working from home for 2 years isn't helping either lol I also don't feel like I look like an adult. Not in a "I get carded all the time!" kind of way, because I don't, but just...my style...or something...doesn't feel very adult.
I typically describe my style as a college student with an 8am class.

I'm 41. When my mom was 41, I was 14 (and my sister was 11) and I remember thinking how I couldn't imagine being 41 and now here I am, haha. I definitely don't feel old. Some of may be that my H is a little older than me, and he likes to joke about how I shouldn't age so I don't have to do deal with his complaint of the day - sore joints/worsening eyesight/trouble hearing/etc.

Yes!!! I remember when my mom turned 50 (in 2002) and it didn’t feel lien it was that long ago. And at that time (I was 22), 50 seemed old. But now that I’m only 8 years away from that….I don’t know. It feels-something. Like I still feel 22 in my head. And I feel like I’ll still feel 22 in my head when I turn 50. It’s weird how time works

The older I get, the more I appreciate hanging out with people who knew me when I was young. That’s when I feel the most “myself.”
I still look at H and see the 25 year old I fell in love with. (Most of time. Every so often I look at him and think, man, he’s SUCH a dad.)
My mom is turning 60 this year and she said that SHE still feels like she is not supposed to be the adult in the room. That there are sometimes that she feels like she is still in her 20s.
I'm 37. When my mom was 37, I was a sophomore in HS (I'm the oldest) and learning to drive. My oldest is 6. I do like having a younger mom, because she and I have a lot in common and she keeps up with what is going on in the world.
I so relate to the feeling of needing a real adult! When my dad was dying, a long time family friend came when I was alone with him in the hospital, and he was declining rapidly, and I felt my whole Body relax bc I felt like there was an adult there to help! My stepmom had just gone home to shower! I was 37, and worked in the hospital with critically ill patients.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
My mom had me on her 37th birthday. I was the youngest (by 9 years) and my oldest sibling was 12. I have a just turned 10 year old, so not crazy different.
But yeah, 37 and this whole age is not what I expected.

I do have kids, but I feel the same way about my style. I recently got divorced, and I’ve been trying to figure out who I am. I used to be comfortable in my clothes. And while now I am still physically comfortable, I also feel sort of uncomfortable. Like I’m not projecting who I am correctly or something. It’s weird. And probably complicated by my divorce. Lol
