Now that I’m going to be WFH, I need to get my home office set up. Right now the corner where my desk is is kind of dark. I do have a very bright LED desk lamp but sometimes I don’t want it that harsh and just want some nice warm lighting especially on bright sunny days. I’d like a floor lamp possibly one that hangs/arches over my desk. Something streamlined that doesn’t look too much like it should be in a living room instead.
Something metallic (gold, silver) or black would be best. Warm light but bright enough that it does illuminate my desk. I looked at furniture stores and Target and found nothing. I think I may need to go online but then it’s hard to tell how bright it is. I was wondering if anyone personally has a lamp like this they’d recommend?
This one is great and dimmable and looks more modern and for an office. I bought it for my living room and it works great. Owned it a couple years no issue. The head moves around as needed.
I have this one from Target. It is in a nursery. I prefer it to the ceiling light as it is more subtle. Depending on how bright you want it, you could use a 40W or 60W LED equivalent light bulb.

Brightness and warmth will be determined by the bulbs you use. Look at the labeling.
You'll want something (or a combo of somethings) that produce the equivalent of 150 watts or more. Not every fixture can hold those larger LED bulbs (the brighter bulbs are actually bigger than the 60 watt ones so be sure they fit). The dirty little secret is that current bulbs are generally less bright than the old energy guzzling ones. 100-150 W bulbs used to be a standard bulb type and now you generally find 60 W equivalents because they are the standard width and fit into most fixtures.
Our house came with many dimmable switches and I have never found a dimmable LED bulb that wasn't finicky. When they get finicky they flicker which is frustrating. I wouldn't rely on a dimmer and instead choose options where you can turn off one or more bulbs to moderate brightness. For the room I'm in, I use a combo of bright white and warm white bulbs in different strengths. I adjust which ones are on by time of day and circumstances.
You can also soften and disperse the light by facing the bulb up to a white ceiling rather than down at your work station.
