We went to, by far, the most extravagant wedding I’ve ever been to Saturday night. It was SO fun to get dressed up all fancy and be away from the kids, lol. We had such a great time!
Last day at my ILs, we fly home later this afternoon. It's been a good visit, but I am so ready to be home.
Our original flight got pushed back, so now we don't land until 6:30. Tomorrow is going to be really rough with so little time to get ready for the week.
I ordered a coffee cup warmer thing from Amazon and didn't realize I purchased it used. I was pissed when I opened the box and saw it had coffee splatters all over it and initiated a return, but looking at it again I guess that's what I ordered? Now I don't know what to do. I hardly ever buy used stuff but technically doing so better aligns with my thoughtful values - like I think we shouldn't throw stuff away just because it is used, but also I don't want used stuff that other people made dirty lol. So now I'm thinking I should just clean it and keep it. I will be really annoyed if it stops working sooner because of this, though. The fact that it is dirty grossed me out so now I'm not as excited about it, too.
We finally got our health insurance information for our new plan, on day 24 of paying for it. It was a huge mess of a transition but I guess all is good now. I just really hope the psychiatrist my H went to earlier this month was in network, because otherwise we paid for the whole month basically for nothing since we couldn't make any other appointments or fill any prescriptions until now.
Since I am not on BC anymore, and don't have fallopian tubes, I have completely lost track of when I have my period. It showed up today and felt like a total surprise. I think it's still fairly regular but I can't seem to find room in my brain to pay attention anymore.

We had a fairly extravagant night out on Saturday as well. Tried a new restaurant and decided to just go for it and order whatever the heck we wanted. It was glorious.
I'm currently eating potato chips for lunch because I'm too lazy to actually make myself anything of substance. Plus, I usually like to eat leftovers for lunch but since I didn't cook all weekend, there actually aren't any.
I was so productive when I first logged on to work this morning but my attention has been waning. I'm in back to back to back to back meetings tomorrow so I really need to buckle down for the next 3 hours and do some actual work.

I'm trying to use up all the sample/travel sized things in my house. So tired of the clutter. I've never been so well moisturized--eye cream, face cream, foot cream, stretch mark cream. LOL I'm sure by the end I'll either have a rash from it all or fabulous skin.

I booked flights to Alaska over the weekend and I spent most of this morning researching hikes. I haven't planned a trip in so long, and I'm so excited. We're not going until August, but at least we have something coming up to plan!

I’m starting school again 2/1. I took a 3 month break, and that was completely the right move for me. But I got an email from my advisor saying she needed to move our appt to tomorrow instead of today, but she kept it at the same time. Well, I’m trying to not stress and handle things better. I let her know later is better, since I’m in clinic still. No problem. Whew!
I was out sick last week, and I’m fairly behind. But I’m just poking away at the big stuff, and accepting being behind. My attitude is much improved with this line of thinking. It’s nice to not feel so stressed and overwhelmed!!

Last day of DS2’s quarantine. I went to leave at the 1/2 day mark and my car wouldn’t start and it’s snowing. DH (who had taken the morning off) came to get me; he thinks it’s the starter. 🤦🏻♀️ So we figured out arrangements for a tow truck to get it later this afternoon. But first I had to explain to my DH that because of where I’m parked, the TT will block the bus lane and the bus drivers and my principal would kill me! 😳
So DH is working now and I’m on toddler duty. I’m really behind in grading. Probably should do some while DS naps.

I’m complaining here instead of in real life. I am in a leg cast for the next 4-6 weeks. I have a knee scooter, which is helpful but my work site is full of hills, the bathrooms in my building are under construction so I have to travel to the next building over. I am so pissed I am not allowed to work from home during this time. I literally do not leave my desk and all my meetings are virtual. My senior manager is an old school, butts in seats guy so it isn’t even worth trying to have a conversation.
1confused1, That's crazy and I feel really bad for you! I would still ask and if he says no I would go to HR. There is no reason you have to deal with that.

I don't know where you work or who for, but you should fall under reasonable accommodation while you heal. That's ridiculous.

I’d be pissed if I ordered something used and it showed up dirty. I mean, if they don’t have the quality control to make sure it’s clean/sanitary before sending it, did they even check to make sure it works??
1confused1, agreed - you should consult HR because they can easily accommodate your needs. Just because they don't want to doesn't mean they can't. Though to be fair you haven't actually asked - you're just assuming they won't let you.

Agreed - I would return (as much as that's a pain) because with my luck it would stop working next week.
I have a very small bookstagram account. I read an ARC by an author I really like and I loved her first book. The second book was ok, but I felt the need to rate it 4.5 because she sent me the ARC and is really very sweet.
But I dislike when there are characters/scenes in the beginning of the book and then those characters are never mentioned again. So the main character has a conversation with coworkers about her boyfriend. She breaks up with the boyfriend, get sa new boyfriend, and never talks to the coworkers about new boyfriend? Even just a couple paragraphs would have been fine.
I'm predicting a snow day tomorrow for my kid. It's snowing pretty good right now and they've already cancelled afternoon GSRP and pre-school and evening activities and they are letting the older kids out 20 minutes early to give extra time for the buses to get back to the younger ones close to normal time. I wouldn't hate that I will need to work remote. I am conducting some interviews via zoom tomorrow and thankfully my kid is old enough to understand when I tell her the times she absolutely can't interrupt.
My kid had her first basketball game this past weekend and she had a blast so that makes me happy! It was fun to cheer for her but SUPER hard not to be over the top. Honestly I'm just really glad she had fun.
I listening to a webinar right now and one of the presenters really draws out the S's at the start of words and it's jarring on the ears - sssssssso, sssssssssome, etc - like they're hissing :/
