Well, I know what I'm going to be doing! Flood it and shut it down.
I’ve been seeing people talking about flooding it with things supporting the things it’s obviously meant to put down. The school refused to teach XYZ, etc.

A lot of things that are happening now are taken straight out of the white supremacy anti-abortion handbook. None of this surprises me since this has been going on in my career since I started (haven’t checked to see if I’m on the anti-abortion hit list website recently!) and has been decades in the making, but damn it seems like progress has continued to take multiple steps back.
So is there any way to flood the line with good comments to counteract all the Karens and Chads that will be reporting the ridiculous stuff?
And, I’m not in VA, but this direction is so disturbing.
Here is the email! helpeducation@governor.virginia.gov I'm sure they would love to know about all the potential porn you are concerned about your child seeing. Probably should send pictures just so they know exactly what you are talking about.

A friend of mine sent this:
An example of an email sent to the tip line (helpeducation@governor.virginia.gov):
Thank you for establishing this tip line to make sure our teachers teach information that is in line with our opinions and reality.
I would like to report that many teachers in Fairfax County are comfortable telling our children that the moon is made of solid rock.
In my family, our belief is that the moon is made of blue cheese.
I am EXTREMELY concerned that my child is being taught something that goes against our family values. This divisive teaching by our teachers has to stop.
Please allow parents to teach our kids the truth. In my family, the truth is that the moon is made of blue cheese.
Teachers are tearing my family apart and I want you to protect us.

The goal is for parents "to send us any any instances where they feel that their fundamental rights are being violated, where their children are not being respected, where there are inherently divisive practices in their schools," the governor told Fredericks.
We already have this— it’s called school suspension data and other racially disproportionate disciplinary action as well as standardized testing.
There’s a push in Florida to put cameras in the classroom so parents can review footage for teachers teaching stuff the parents find objectionable.
Who would continue to teach if that was the case? I mean unless you're a pro Trumper who thinks you can do no wrong until a parent says you're a bad teacher.
Seriously, what is this trend with the GOP of encouraging people to inform on others to the government? Shades of totalitarian regimes past...
Authoritarian governments always target intellectuals and teachers. Gotta keep the population uneducated sheep, I guess. Fuck this. I think I should be more worried -- I legit do teach what is probably considered CRT in my classroom every day -- but mostly I'm just pissed.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

No one. Which is why the teacher shortage is going to last far longer than any pandemic.
