Iām 47 and am always mildly shocked when AARP reaches out but everyone Iāve talked to who is older than I am is like, āJOIN! SO MANY BENEFITS!ā
I have a year to go, but my parents RAVED about AARP and different discounts and promos others can't access. I'll definitely join. I think there's a negative stigma with AARP in terms of aging - and sure, it's geared towards a certain age population. But there ae travel and insurance benefits that I'm sure I'll want to take part in.

So I will.
This is what my aunt says and then they are drawing me in with a trunk organizer. So maybe? I donāt know.
I've been getting AARP invites for years! I'm almost 45. I also get "active adult" community advertisements and burial plot mailers all the time. I plan on joining AARP when I can.
Did you know that there is actually no minimum age to join AARP? It's definitely known as being only for those who have reached a certain stage in life, but in reality, you can join at any time.
Thereās no minimum age to join AARP! I know people are younger and are members so they can take advantage of their eye care and dental insurance rates.

As a fellow old, I've got to say, if you find the trunk organizer enticing, you're probably their prime demographic.
I like to think of my self as an Older folk who's got their 'ish together and doesn't give a crap what other people think but I'm closer to, gee that Alfred Dunner shirt is cute. So I know I'm prime AARP but I have not joined.

Iāve now googled and seen that they have some predatory practices and that they lobby heavily, so Iām going to amend my response to āmust do some further research to make sure theyāre not right wing assholes first.ā
My H and I have both be getting the last few year. I always throw them in the garbage. I never even thought to investigate. In my mind I've always thought it to be scammy. Not trying to rip you off scammy, more like why waste your money you can do all that stuff without it.

One of my running coaches was on the cover of their magazine right after she won the Masters section of Iron Man Hawaii.
They did a really good article about women pursuing high level fitness into their 50s and to be honest I've never really seen another magazine cover the topic as well.
There is a lot of ageism in sport and it was great to see an organization like AARP working to dispel those myths.

I think it must be! I actually never heard it before I saw it on 21 Jump Street as an adult š³ it was Johnny Depp and Peter Deluise in the poker playing Valentineās Day episode.
Growing up we just said jinx but this is much cuter.

Maybe? We say ājinx buy me a cokeā. I am in Michigan, never heard either the āpinch pokeā or āpoke pokeā.
underwaterrhymes Ohhhh I didnāt even think about that. Yeah I donāt want to support them if they support that. Yeesh. I will have to look into it too.
notreal your comment is cracking me up. I can just see my 20something self rolling at my eyes about the trunk organizer.
I just turned 44, and for years I have been receiving mail regarding Medicare Advantage plans, AARP, hearing aides, all of it. My 2 year older husband thinks its hilarious.
