I'm feeling super run down from a week of poor sleep due to my pup, plus L started daycare on Monday and is loving it but also just slightly intense as a result of the change to his routine, PLUS I think we're all getting the first daycare cold. I'm hoping we can foist the child on his grandparents for a bit this weekend to just chill for a few hours.
We just booked our first real vacation with kids. A cruise (cruise haters, no need to comment LOL). 1 cabin for the 4 of us. I'm going to need a lot of adult drinks.
But also my kids are so excited. My H has been watching youtube videos with them. It's sweet.
Thankfully we convinced my parents to come with so we'll have help for a break or 2. So many mixed emotions.
I got my hair done yesterday, and oooh boy was it pricey! LOL that I immediately thought of this place and the thread on prices. BUT we really changed up the color and I was so sure that she wouldn't have time for what I wanted, but my stylist was like "honey, for you, I will make it work!" So, now I have fabulous hair for my first in person work conference/meetings next week! We're getting headshots done while there, so I'm extra excited about my hair.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
I am on my first work trip in 2.5 years and loving every busy, exhausting second of it. I have crammed in sightseeing and eating in every spare second (which means I am getting about five hours of sleep a night and then working from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm at our conference), and it is so worth it. I have missed trips and sleeping alone in a hotel bed so much! I have seen live music and second lines and had beignets and gumbo and a po’ boy and jambalaya and hurricanes and daiquiris and French 75s and absinthe. I almost never drink, so my liver is probably shocked.
Some of the other women are like, “I miss my kids so much, I hate leaving!” And I’m like…you do?! This is fabulous! I can’t wait to get home and see them, but having these days has been awesome.

icedcoffee you won't be in the cabin much, just to rest and sleep. You will be fine. The nicest part is that you come back from breakfast and the pull out bed is all put up for you and when you return from dinner it is pulled out again. So nice to not have to do all that and it truly transforms the room.
I am so glad it is Friday! It is rainy and gross today and likely will be tomorrow, too, so I guess it's good that I did a bunch of gardening last weekend/earlier this week and my plants are getting nice and soaked! I had thought I might go buy veggies and another plant or two this weekend, but since it's rainy and chilly I might just put that off until next weekend.
I am so behind on a bunch of work stuff AND stuff for my class. My head has just not been in the game lately. I am guessing this is because I haven't taken any time off from work at all since Thanksgiving (plus poorly managed ADHD which means I am never fully focused on anything, anyway). Not that I've been super busy at work every day, but just having to think about work and not being actually off is getting old. Thankfully vacation is in 3 weeks, but I have a TON of stuff to do before then. So, today I'm trying to be productive and I'll probably spend a good part of the weekend doing stuff for my class and maybe a little for my job. My H and I plan to go to a brewery for a couple of hours tomorrow, but other than that I think it will just be a work weekend. Yay?

We booked one room for our cruise in July. After spending one. IghT in a hotel with the kids in Dec. we opted to get joined rooms. There was no way I was going to deal with 5 days of screaming from them. DD and DS will sleep in one room and H and I in another. Thankfully, DD is old enough to help if something pops up
So Kevin Samuels apparently died. I briefly dated a guy back in dec/jan who watched him and asked me to watch a few of his videos. While I don't wish death on anyone*... The world is a better place with this man's mouth no longer spewing misogynist bullshit. He died twice divorced and alone yet tons of people were eating up his dating advice bullshit. I feel bad for the daughter he leaves behind.
I finally decided to get a subscription for our local paper (digitally), but then was surprised by the price. I've never had a news subscription before, so I could just be cheap/totally out of touch. We need to save a lot of money before having 2 @s this fall so I'm not going to do it. Just curious how much a digital subscription is elsewhere for local (or national) news sources?
And I'm not complaining, I totally get they need to make money somehow, I was just surprised.
I’m with you, krystee. I don’t *have* to travel as frequently as I do (one 3-4 day trip every 4-6 weeks), but I do because I enjoy it and can justify it. Lol

I just looked and The Dallas Morning News digital access is $0.99/week for 8 weeks and then $3.99/week after that.

We had a guided meditation call at work today. I fell asleep. I guess I needed that nap. Thankfully, the cameras were off and we were all muted. I filled out the survey sent out afterwards and asked for this ti be a eeekly thing

It's so tempting, but it just adds so much to the cost. Most of our vacations growing up was the 4 of us all crammed into one cabin so I've done it before but never from the parent side. It will be an experience for sure. I was hoping my parents could get a connecting room, but there aren't any available, but they are still right next door so hopefully I can at least send one or both over there sometimes.

On my last work trip several coworkers commented that they've never seen me so happy before. LOL

I just looked up the Boston globe and it’s usually about $7 a week for a digital subscription (on sale now though! Lol). My hometown paper (Santa Barbara so much smaller paper ) is $60 a year

We were very lucky and got a deal they were running. It was only $200 more for a second room. I completely understand your situation. Vacations are difficult as is. Adding a few extra bucks or in some cases hundreds is hard at times. I am sure it will be lovely and you will have a great time.
I’m nervous about our upcoming trip. When do you sail?

I'll go further and say that any personal phone conversation In Public is ridiculous. "I'll be there in 5 minutes" is fine. Anything much more than that is unnecessary.

I put Arrow down this morning. It was as peaceful as possible. After she pooped on the busiest street in town of course. I'm just gutted. I was awake for hours last night trying to figure out how to buy more time with her, but I couldn't do that to her.

I finished my Mother’s Day shopping for my Mom and Gram a couple hours ago, but ended up buying more things for me. Oops! Three pedal pushers and two Spring blouses, but I needed to freshen up my wardrobe so I’m pleased!
And this morning I was cleaning out a pocketbook I hadn’t used in about two years and found a Visa gift card with nearly $13 on it. Hooray for found money!
I have my neurology appointment on Monday to go over the results on my EEG from last week, so I picture a lot of cocktails and stress eating in my weekend forecast.

I would have a travel agent check it for you. Rooms that can hold 4 people start off costing more than rooms than can only hold 2. We are cruising for Thanksgiving in adjoining balconies for 3 of us (I know, I know...I don't like sharing a room with my daughter). The price for 2 balconies with 2 people each is only $100 more than it would have cost to put the 3 of us in one balcony. Doesn't really make sense, but that's how it works.
Either way you'll have a great time! I love cruising and do it at least once a year. Feel free to ask if you have any questions!
