So Younkers is having their Goodwill sale and I'm thinking of grabbing a cheaper pair of boots (which are on sale already) and then getting the extra 25% off, so I can justify the purchase. I like these, but might not be in love with them.
If it helps, I plan to wear them both with jeans and with dresses/skirts. I also do not have teeny tiny calves, so might run into issues with some styles.

This is a tough one. I love your first choice expensive ones. Don't you have that interview at the jail coming up? How long will it take for you to find out if you get that job? Could you hold off on making a purchase until you find out if you get that job?
Interview is next week and if they offer me the position, I'd ask to start the last week of October because I have days off for wedding stuff in October. I'm also not 100% sure I'll come out ahead, financially, with the other job since the salary is about the same, I'd pay in less for health insurance, but pay out more for gas.
Or go to shoebuy.com, search for brown riding boots. They have tons. And mostly free shipping and returns. If you join ebates (ill send a link, I get a referral benefit) there is cash back and usually some sort of coupon available.
Holy crap....how have I not seen this site before?? This is what I'll be doing all day, thanks!!
There are measurements on most of the websites, including around the shaft. And shoebuy has some wide calf ones.
*gigglesnort* you said "shaft"
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought of that lol.
Do you really need new boots? If you can hold off until you know the outcome of the interview, you will be able to buy them and know you wont regret it.
