My office is very pale blue, the guest room is "fresh cucumber" green, and the main areas of the house are kind of a taupe. Kitchen and bath are white.
lots of Sherwin Williams fans here - question...I know we're siting colors by brand, but what paint are you actually buying? Are you buying at SW when using an SW color, or are you matching it somewhere else?
and if you are buying at SW, what paint/sheen are you choosing?
I mentioned above that our whole house was painted with flat acrylic and I hate it. When we had two rooms (professionally) painted, they used SW Cashmere Low Lustre. I was going to choose the same base for painting two bedrooms bc I didn't have any better logic, and I have a 40% off coupon at SW.
So, what brand/make/sheen of paint are people using for bedrooms and other interior rooms?
cereal K , for the most part yes, I do buy SW paint. I mostly buy Duration or Emerald in matte finish, which is sort of eggshell. Definitely more sheen than flat. I have kids and dogs, and even in bedrooms I need to be able to wipe down or Magic Eraser as needed, esp near the dog bed. For trim I buy SW Pro Classic in semi-gloss. It self levels which is key.
Last year when we bought our house, SW was in the midst of a raw materials shortage, and I couldn't get all the products I needed. I was trying to paint as much as I could in the month before we moved in, so I got the colors matched into Benjamin Moore products instead. I used BM Regal in eggshell in our dining room, office, and most of the bedrooms. Those aren't super high traffic spaces; at one year in they still look good. (Cant' speak to longer yet.) But BM isn't cheap paint either. I was able to get my hands on two 5 gal buckets of SW Emerald in matte in the main gray color we used for a lot of spaces, so those spaces are my usual SW products.
I can't say I have a strong BM vs. SW preference. Sometimes it comes down to which is more convenient, or which I started the project/space with. But I do prefer that level of product vs. cheaper big box store paint (including the cheaper SW lines that Lowe's carries), not so much for application as for durability.
@cerealk, I buy Sherwin Williams paint. It isn’t cheap, but holds up significantly better than the cheaper paints. The coverage is better too and needs fewer coats.

I'm using SW Emerald line. Eggshell for living room, dining room, and bedrooms. Satin for the kitchen. They're having a 30% off sale until 7/11, which is the only way I can afford it right now, LOL.
cereal K I prefer Benjamin Moore over SW. I find SW eggshell finish, which I use for most of my rooms, to be too shiny compared to BM eggshell. I also LOVE the BM bath and spa paint. I've used it for my bathrooms and it is comparable to a matte finish while being super easy to wipe if needed. It is expensive ($65-$70 a gallon) but I only needed one can for both bathrooms.
BM Stonington Grey w/ an accent wall in BM Santorini Blue. They’re very calming colors and I love them. They also work well with the lighting in the room. There were a couple of blue/greys I tried that turned purple on the walls when I put them up.
We're BM fans, and we always use their paint. I didn't even realize you could mix and match until the employee at Ace Hardware told me it's allowed (he said Joanna Gaine's paint line is the only one who doesn't allow mix and matching). I prefer the way BM paint looks, and I always seem to pick their paint colors over other brands.

We buy Valspar because they partnered with Enchroma many years ago and helped my colorblind husband see color. We’re brand loyal ‘til the cows come home for that.
We do the satin finish, whatever their best or second best durable paint is called. We did a SW paint in our son’s room because of a sale and it has peeled over the years, not sure why.

A pale grey that is almost white, and an accent wall. First the accent wall was bright teal, and had big white pictures on the wall above the bed. Then I painted it deep green and hated it. Then I painted it the white/grey color and got an 8' x 8' wallpaper with a bright floral pattern and centered it behind the bed.
