I posted the other day about wanting to go back to school. I was conflicted whether to do the AA program or the BA program and decided on the BA because it isn't many more classes than the AA based on what I have already taken.
I decided to look into my Florida Bright Futures scholarship that I received when I graduated high school because I only used about half of the money allotted to me. I only have 1 year left that I can use the scholarship for, so I essentially waited too long to go back to school and will have to pay out of pocket for the rest of my BA.
I know it's not a big deal because a lot of people pay for school but I am just kicking myself for waiting so long to decide what I wanted to do and go back.
Can you take classes in the summer to try to speed up the process? I'm just curious, how long did they give you?
The scholarship won't cover summer classes (at least it didn't before), I will have to look into it.
You have 7 years to use the money after your graduate high school. I started college right out of high school and finished my AA but then the economy went bad and I decided not to spend any more money on school (I will have OOP expenses even with the scholarship) because I knew too many teachers who couldn't find jobs.
Some of teachers still don't have teaching jobs but I am refocusing and will do Early Childhood instead of Elementary Education. There seems to be more openings for day cares / pre-kindergarten teachers than grade school.
I guess that was a long answer for a simple question!
