After hearing TR talk about it, I've started reading The Time Traveler's Wife. I'm only about 17 pages in but I have a strong feeling that this is gong to be a favorite.
I did a run this morning using one of Coach Bennet's guided runs on Nike+ RunClub App. I took some time off from running last month after being sick and it's been hard to get back into it--his run this morning was the perfect motivator and reminder to enjoy the run.

I follow Your Own Backyard Podcast on Instagram. He is giving daily updates on the trial of Paul and Ruben Flores. I find it so interesting the things they have witnesses explain for the jury. Like what a checkbook is. I guess the young folk don't know.
The younger 2 are going to my parent's for the weekend. I have them all packed up and my Mom will pick up right after school and I'm ready for the quiet. DS1 loves when they go too (won't admit he loves when they return too, but he does) as he likes the quiet break as well.
Hoping to order a new bed for DD. Finalize plans for a few more home updates. Look at the calendar and plan out a few more fun days/weekends for the rest of the year. And DH needs to plan out how/when to use his remaining pto for the year.
We are home. We slept in our own beds. Our flights were smooth and our luggage came off the belt first. We're unpacked. L took kid to swim lessons while I purged the toy room of 2 garbage bags full of toys to donate.
We have one day of vacation left so L is taking kid to daycare while I'm in bed. He made us appointments for mani pedis together at 1045. I am actually concerned I took the wrong person home because LOL he never does stuff like this.

My bf is jumping into four navy games this college football season, and of course none of them work with my schedule. I found someone to trade with me and just booked my flights so I can fly out with his team for one of the games. I’m so excited.

My kids are going to visit my parents for 10 days and I am super disappointed that I will be away on business travel for 3 of those days. It makes things a lot easier for MH, but I'm sad that I'll miss that quiet time at home.
My H has been in Vegas this week for a conference, and he sent me pictures last night from one of Lisa Vanderpump's bars. I'm so jealous. I was going to join him, but not only was he in conferences all day, but then he had working dinners with colleagues. I would have been bored out of my mind, so I stayed home. I had a hair appointment that I didn't want to reschedule anyway, and the contractors are still here working on the basement - final inspection is today! He's flying home today and suggested I meet him in Philly for dinner. Ummmm, that's a hard no. There's a pre-season home Eagles game tonight, and I refuse to deal with that traffic.
We don't have anything planned for Saturday, but Sunday I'm having some friends over for brunch and mimosas. The heat and humidity has final broken and I'm going to set up everything so we can be outside. I'm tired of being cooped up inside.

bears oh I get you on that. Sometimes if I go on a weekend trip to meet up with friends my parents keep the kids to give DH a break too and part of me is always like, wait I want to stay home too now!
We're at the start of some really perfect weather after a heat wave, so I'm in the screen porch with my coffee, just letting annual training for work run. So looking forward to a gorgeous weekend with farmers market, party with friends, hiking, and evenings out here.
I can hear the HS football field PA system from here too as they do fall sports and band camps, it's so nostalgic for me. And I can't believe we just have next week before kids are back in school!

I got all the way to work this morning and couldn’t get in because I had forgotten my badge. Luckily the job site I was at was the closest to home (about 15 minutes each way). I hope it isn’t foreshadowing about the rest of the day. Thank god it’s Friday.
Tomorrow is my family's annual White Water Rafting trip. It's a tradition that my Dad started almost 20 years ago and I know that he would be so happy to know that we are still doing it. It was one of his absolute favorite things in the world. We're going to bring some of his ashes with us and sprinkle them in the river, we think that he would've loved that. This will also be the first year that my younger kids are going on this trip, I just hope they love it as much as I do.
The Peloton riders might appreciate this. My very first FTP ride I got 77 which is the bottom of the range for beginners. That was only a week ago that I took that ride and I honestly had thought that I went all out. Well yesterday I did another FRP ride and got a 92. I'm not breaking any records, but I'm quite pleased with myself considering how massively out of shape I am

That’s awesome! I grew up in Annapolis and have been to a ton of games!
I’m still upset how DH handled the specialist vet visit yesterday. We actually have made no progress because every question I ask, he didn’t. So WTF do I do? If you restrict a puppy still in training to basically this $$ food, she will get tired of it and now I have no “treat” to train and groom her with. She hates being brushed and we have to tag team with peanut butter on a plate to distract her.
We made it to Friday of the first week of school. I went to a football meeting with DS1 last night and I just love the support the team seems to have. We’re going to the booster kickoff tonight at a brewery so hopefully that will be fun. I’m exhausted from a full week of work plus running the boys around to practices and meetings and whatever so I can only imagine how they feel. Tomorrow both boys have scrimmages and so we are dividing/conquering. DH chose to do DS2, he has to get him to a 7:45 weigh-in but then goes to his scrimmage where the word is that Peyton Manning will be there because he’s coaching an opposing team!

Is the vet open to follow-up questions via email or phone? MH is the one with more questions and, while I get a list from him beforehand, I obviously don't know what his questions would be based on the medical treatment plan. Our vet has been fabulous with speaking with us after the appointments to address any follow-up questions.
H is one of those people who has to have his lawn looking like a lush carpet. We got a $400 water bill yesterday and a letter that we’re not allowed to “irrigate” that often. Geez H.

I’m pretty excited about it! He’s gone about every weekend during football season and I work most weekends so it took a lot of effort to make it work!
Can you email or call the vet for follow up questions?
Can't seem to stop eating Harvest Snaps, so I'll have to stop buying them. [sob]
We occasionally have tiny field mice in our unfinished basement, and it grosses me out to the point of occasionally having nightmares. It's an older house, and we live in the woods, so I really think it's somewhat expected - and I mean we maybe trap 4/year - but I hate it so much. We have a "pest guy," but I don't like using poison and have asked my H to use more traps, and I just bought some "electric ultrasonic" rodent/insect repellant things. Has anyone used these before? The reviews are good, but the product description essentially says things might get worse briefly before they get better. I guess bugs come out from their hiding places (worse) and then leave (better), which is fine, but I don't know what to think about that with respect to mice. While I detest thinking they are here at all, they are confined to the basement, and I can't even contemplate having them in our living space. If I plug these things in down in the basement *and* upstairs, I should just drive them out, right?
Congratulations, jane6672! May you always be as happy as today, or more!
Pilsy, I have ultrasonic things in my garage, as well as traps right next to them and I've caught mice. I can't say that I think they've done much in my case. (I looked up my variety - Highendberry Ultrasonic Pest Repeller, which isn't showing up now on Amazon.)
I'm meeting up with family in PA tomorrow to finally, after several years of delay, inter my aunt's ashes in the cemetery with her parents/my grandparents. We have family coming in from NY (me), FL, AZ, and OH, some I haven't seen in decades. And in the evening, we're going to a Cow Flop ... seriously, I can't stop laughing about it. It's a fundraiser for the town Fire Department. They map out a grid on a field and let 4 cows loose. You buy a grid and see if nature takes its course ... if one of the cows picks your grid, you win. My aunt would be overjoyed to laugh over this. I'm sure the weekend will be filled with lots of laughter, but I know I'll be totally people'd out by Sunday afternoon.
I have this endless meeting this morning. I need to be focused and responsive intermittently for parts if it, but the vast majority is not relevant to me. Camera off, baby.
I would have managed and scheduled this meeting differently, but c'est la vie.
