I had a pretty good week reading wise. I finished Stay Awake by Megan Goldin (4*) and read The Colony by Audrey Magee (4.5*). I enjoyed both books. Stay Awake, while not perfect, was the first thriller in a long time to actually get and hold my attention throughout. The more I thought about The Colony after finishing it the more I liked the book. I wished I had someone to discuss the book with after finishing it.
I started The Sentence for book club. I was on the fence, but decided to officially throw in the towel on The Sentence after posting this. I was not enjoying the book at all. I just got The Last to Vanish from the library this morning so I'll start that tonight.
QOTW: I don't have a lucky number or item. I'm not very superstitious.
I’m reading Stephen King’s Fairy Tale — I have no idea how I managed to get to the top of the library list, but I’m not complaining! It’s good. Definitely fantasy and not really horror at all.
QOTW: I’m very fond of the number 24, but it’s not lucky. I’ve just always liked it.

Finished Sea of Tranquility - it was disappointing.
Still reading Wedding Season, which I am loving.
Started Love in Color which is beautifully written.
QOTW: Do you have a lucky number or good luck charm? (The date made me wonder — 9 is supposed to be lucky, right?) I love the number 6. I don't know if it's lucky, but I like the way 1+2+3 = 6 and 1*2*3 = 6. That feels meaningful to me.
I just finished Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn. The audio version is great. I just started Remarkably Bright Creatures on audio and enjoy the voice of the octopus so far. Also was reading I Must Betray You, not super into it, hope I have some time this weekend.
6. I know it’s often considered unlucky, but it was my uniform number (or some derivative of it like 15 (1+5)) in youth and HS and it kind of stayed with me.
I skimmed my way through the rest of Carrie Soto is Back. If you wanted to read a book about tennis where characters are an afterthought, I would highly recommend. Otherwise I would suggest skipping it.
Then I read Cult Classic by Sloane Crosley. I'm not really sure what I thought about this one. It probably doesn't help that I read it on an overnight flight and train with no sleep.
Now I am reading Killers of a Certain Age, which is great fun.
QOTW: I don't really have a lucky number but I do have a favorite.
After finishing The Kite Runner (5*), I read Pride and Prejudice. I am going through classics and it was perfect after completing The Kite Runner.
The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave - 2.5*
Right now I’m reading a book my middle schooler wanted me to read. :-) It’s The War that Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. It’s very good so far.
QOTW: I do not really have lucky number or charm. However, there are certain numbers that repeat in happy life events.

I finally finished The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and Where the Crawdad's Sing this weekend. It was a lot of plot for one weekend, lol.
I just picked up The Hour of the Witch. I hope it gets better, so far I'm not sure why I waited several months (would pass on the book when it came up) to read it.
QOTW: Not really a lucky number of item, but I like 23. I also have the TV volume on an odd number whenever possible, and try to get out of bed on an odd number or I feel the day will be off to a bad start.
