H and I are looking for some Halloween movies to watch this weekend but neither of us are into Horror movies. I’m sure we’ll hit the obvious - Hocus Pocus movies but what other recs do you have?
It’ll just be us so while they can be child friendly it isn’t a requirement.
I like the Hotel Transylvania movies. DD loves Nightmare before Christmas. I'm more meh on that one, but it's fun to watch with her since she's so into it. Beetlejuice is another great one. I like the Addams Family. I'd like to anti-recommend Fun Size. It was awful.

There's a new Marvel Cinematic Universe hour long special on Disney+ that's gotten good reviews called "Werewolf By Night". Sounds like it's too gory for younger kids though so I haven't found the time to watch it yet.
I'll 2nd taco kick's recommendation for "What We Do in the Shadows" (the original movie, but the FX series is also fun).

For fans of the original Ghostbusters, I did find the sequel "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" that came out last year to be worthwhile. Note - this is a sequel, different movie than the all-female remake a bunch of the SNL folks did a few years ago.
Practical Magic doesn't get the attention it deserves! The Witches (I love Angelica Huston) The Worst Witch! It's amazingly cheesy but kind of adorable.

I have a friend who is shocked I've never seen "The Worst Witch" and reminds me every year and I still haven't tracked it down
They made a new version of "The Witches" in the past year or two with Anne Hathaway that I also need to see.
I’m not a fan of horror either, but H made me watch Poltergeist last weekend by telling me it was more like Stranger Things, and he was right. It was fun and suspenseful and not really that scary or gross.

See I wouldn't even say it's in the same genre as the original, which was camp central. It's much more serious.
