No, not buying right now, just want to have an idea of what's a good deal for post-Christmas clearance sales.
I'm looking for a 7.5-foot tall, slim tree (36 to 42 inches wide) for our new house that's nicer than our current scrawny Target tree, but I'm not quite willing to pay Balsam Hill prices. Pre-lit would be nice, but not a must-have.
It's actually the National Tree Company Glen Ridge, but called August Grove on Wayfair. It was cheapest on Wayfair when I bought it.
Pros: Has the power connect through the pole, easy to set up, looks realistic. Con: I don't like how much space is under the tree. Until I get some presents wrapped, it looks kind of funny.
This was my plan last year but there were no post-holiday clearance sales near me. I have been hoping to find a smallish preferably slim tree for my dining room and they were gone before the holiday in bricks and mortar stores and the prices never really dropped at Wayfair.
I have the larger version and it's nice for the price. My mom ordered one as well. One of her sections was damaged; I contacted the company and they had a new section at the house in days.
I don't have a rec for a tree, but I would recommend checking out Home Depot and Lowes online, as well as Wayfair and other online retailers immediately after Christmas. I did this 6 or 7 years ago and was able to get an amazing tree for 60% off on Home Depot's website and they shipped it to me for free. I would advise you really think about the pre-lit option. My tree was pre-lit and I was convinced that was the way to go, until two of the 4 strands went out a two years ago. The first year I just sucked it up and put lights on and left the non-working lights on the tree since the tree was already up, but last year before putting the tree up my boyfriend and I spent a good few hours cutting all the lights out of the tree. The tree with the unlit bulbs was not a great look. Other people may not have paid much attention it, but it was all I could see when I looked at the tree. Those things were wrapped around EVERY SINGLE branch, big and small. It was a huge pain and not worth it, in my opinion. I'll never buy a pre-lit tree again. The bonus to that is that if I decide I want different types of lights I have the freedom to do so without having unlit bulbs all over the tree. Just food for thought.
I have a flocked slim tree from Michael's (It's on sale now $100 off). Love it. It was pre-lit with clear and I add additional light strings because people in the house like colors. 84" tall 26" wide.
I got this tree last year on BF from Balsam Hill. It is 6.5', unlit. I paid $270. Right now it is $349 but I remember I used an extra code to get an even better discount. I found a $10 off code if you're interested.
