This year was...overall, not bad! In October, I ran my first half marathon since October 2018...I hadn't planned on taking that long off from HMs but that's what a combination of a 2019 baby that hated sleep and then Covid/pandemic related race hesitation got me. I'm looking forward to getting back to what was my usual plan of at least 2 half marathons a year in 2023, and incorporating more strength training!
Once I was cleared to ride from the blood clot in my heart (diagnosed Nov. 2021), I worked on getting back in shape. I won 4 e-gravel bike races and had several podiums at the state cyclocross series that I was ecstatic about! I was also 2nd overall in both of my divisions in the cyclocross series. Then, something happened in mid-Dec. and I am now at a standstill. Lots of PT. Lots of PT exercises. Mileage before being stopped totally was 5200 miles on the bike (all forms).
My first goal for 2023 is to heal-however long it takes. Then get back in shape AGAIN for the 4th time in 3 years and race later in the hear (hopefully! That's the goal.).
I ran another 3 this morning. This year it was so much harder with work especially on my in office days but I still exercised 220/365 days - ran 358.6 mi, biked 673.45 mi, swam 28.53 mi. Tiny bit of yoga and lifting and then some one-offs like skiing, kayaking, ice skating. Highlights were skiing with my girls, running across the Golden Gate bridge, a spring run through a huge area of bluebells, hiking with my family in New England, finishing yet another half marathon, a sunset kayak with my twin, outdoor sunrise swim, biking at a pump track with one of my girls. I have had some lower back pain this fall but am okay now. I know I need to do more yoga and lifting. I think I only gave blood twice but feel like I need to try harder next year to do that a few more times, especially since my aunt needed blood this year. I weighed a half pound more today than I did in on January 1st but would like to lose about 5-10 lbs next year.
Next year - work out more days than not. I just registered for my regular half marathon to keep the pressure on myself. Lose a few pounds, could be a class reunion so that can also incentivize me haha. More lifting and yoga. Be able to do the regular things and the one-offs. Sleep a little more! That has been sacrificed with work, too. Give blood at least three times. Most of all, keep moving for me and to show my kids that this is what we do.

Nice to read everyone’s updates and goals! I was pregnant most of 2022. I was active throughout my pregnancy, but didn’t do any running.
I have a planner on the way, so I’m going to think of more specific goals, but I definitely want to get back in to running. I entered in to a half marathon lottery in May, so we’ll see if I get it. Otherwise I’ll try to find some other late spring and early summer races to give me some motivation. There’s a weekly local running group and I plan to join with them.

I ran 1,116 miles this year. That’s both more than I thought, and also seems low since I trained for, and ran a marathon. But I’m happy with it overall!
I would like to hit 1,000 miles in 2023. And I’d like to race a couple shorter races this year. But also, we’re talking about possible moving (just across town) so I’m trying to not have too many big goals. I just want to enjoy running and working out this year. Bc I didn’t enjoy running much of this year.
I had one goal for 2022, and it was to hit 15k minutes on the Peloton platform, and I came in just over 16k. I might aim for 18k next year. Other than that, no real specific things like races. One of the harder things this past year was fitting in my workouts due to going back to the office and my kids activities. I am grateful to have all the equipment I need at home so I can do things when I can fit it in. Still not an early AM workout person though. I will most likely keep my current routine of 4 days of indoor cycle (outdoor when spring rolls around), and 3 days of running and lifting. I started last year incorporating more yoga, and I want to get back to that since it really helps.
This was a pretty good H&F year for me. Highlight was probably the half marathon I ran this summer. It was a really fun race and I was really happy with my pacing. I felt so strong through the whole race and was passing a lot of people in the last few miles.
I’m looking forward to 2023. I have two marathons lined up, including Chicago!
Question: Is there a way to find year end/monthly stats with apple fitness?
Another lackluster year for me - 472 miles run. I haven't been able to get it together since DD was born in 2019. Highlight was running a half marathon in the spring and biking more about town in attempt to reduce my carbon footprint (both my road bike and e-assist cargo bike with the kids). I don't have an accurate bike mileage, so maybe that'll be one of my 2023 goals along with participating in a race of each major distance (5K, 10K, Half, Full).
I ran 295.95 miles in 2022. It feels lackluster, but it's actually my 3rd highest year ever.
2013 - 522.31 miles 2014 - 495.63 miles 2022 - 295.95 miles 2021 - 212.95 miles
In 2013 and 2014 I was childfree and doing 70.3s, so to be "next best" to those years of my life, is fine with me.
My max distance this year was the same as 2021, same 7 mile race actually. So the difference between 2021 and 2022 was consistency.
For 2023 I'd like to close the gap a bit, to get a little closer to 2014. I'd also like to run more races, and a longer race than the 7 miler of the past two years. Maybe a 15k or a 10 miler.

I had 2 big orthopedic surgeries in 2022, so I am no longer crippled. I can walk again and I've lost 70 lbs. I arbitrarily decided to walk (or bike or elliptical) for an hour every day in 2023. So far so good.
I am very happy with my weight for now but this year would like to exercise more and build some muscles again. After giving a birth i didn't have much time for that and feel myself weak. I am also considering taking some vitamins and checking already information about it on canadian pharmacy website. Probably it is not a bad idea to do an extended blood screening first, right?
