Yes. In Vegas, one of the casinos wanted a $5.50 ATM fee. I walked. This was 2008 and it was almost double the fees at the casino at which we were staying.
I can't remember the last time I used an ATM. Maybe $5? It was several years ago @ a T station in Boston where I totally forgot I had no cash on me & needed it for some reason. Like I said, it's been a while.

I think about $5 between my bank's fee and the ATM fee, and only because I needed cash and wasn't able to get to my own bank's ATM at the time. ATM fees are basically the reason I keep my BoA account - there is a BoA ATM on what seems to be every corner around here so I don't have to go out of my way to get cash.
I paid $3 once. I was at a concert and completely blanked on bringing cash. The worst part is that if I would have just used my OTHER debit card from a different credit union, they refund ATM fees. $3 stupid tax.

My sister complained about how high the fee was at the ATM, and my DH asked her (with a straight face) "Why would you use an ATM that wasn't your bank?"
They both looked at each other confused. Because she would never go out of her way, even for $3 and he would never, ever spend $3 if he could go somewhere else for free.
Oh, and I should say that the worst exchange rate I ever paid was when I went to the Hustler Club with coworkers and didn't have cash on me (nor did I have my ATM card with me), so I had to buy Beaver Bucks with my credit card. I think you pay around $120 for $100 worth of Beaver Bucks.
And since I didn't use them all up (because I then found out they could only be used for lapdances, and I didn't have five lapdances to buy), I had those stupid Beaver Bucks in my wallet for the longest time...

I am currently paying $9 whenever I withdraw money from the ATM. Chase charges me a $5 fee (plus international transaction fee) and the ATM charges me INR 200 (about $4).
