We're going to DC for a few days, staying at the Capital Hilton at 1001 16th St NW. We have passes for a tour of the US Capitol, and for the National Museum of African American History, and the DC zoo. Also will be going to the Natural History museum.
Any recs for kid-friendly restaurants for dinner? H and I aren't particularly picky about cuisine but like a good beer menu; but DS is picky. As long as they have a kids' menu, we should be good.
The Boardwalk Bar & Arcade is family friendly. Our then 4.5 & 7.5 y/o enjoyed it last summer. It’s on the wharf, which is a cute area in general. There are multiple restaurants along the wharf, along with a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop. There is also a relatively cheap boat tour that leaves from the wharf. We went right before dinner. It’s near the airport, and you feel like you can touch the planes.
There are a bunch of kid friendly places in the wharf. When we went in April my kids really liked Hank's Oyster Bar and BarTaco - both actually have multiple locations if that location isn't close to where you are staying. We also did the previous recommendation of old ebbit grill on Easter and it was a winner with the kids as well.

Oops! Just realized this is an old thread. I’ll keep my suggestions in case anyone else is looking.
We were in DC 2 weeks ago with DS1 (almost 10). He’s pretty picky and sticks to chicken tenders/fries or Mac and cheese.
We ate at: -Old Ebbitt Grill - we all enjoyed it -Founding Farmer - very good. They don’t have a specific kids menu, but could make anything kids want -MXDC Cocina Mexicana - really good. They had quesadillas for kids, and also tenders/fries
