Posting this specifically for the people feeling influenced by Prime Day but really don’t need or want anything.
Just because everyone else on the internet is buying things today does not mean you need to.
Maybe you are saving money Maybe you know yourself and you will never use that electronic (ahem, this is me) Maybe your house is already more cluttered than you can manage
Don’t let the sale noise convince you that you need something that will need to get shipped to you and then sit unused in your house until you finally give it away or put it in the trash.
This is not a dig at people who enjoy prime day - this is FOR the people who need to hear something other than the barrage of people trying to sell something.

Also most of the deals aren’t deals. I’m noticing items I have on my wish list are discounted for the same price they have been for weeks. The marked it up to give a deal
I'm in the trying to save money camp and not really needing anything. Previous years, I'd waste time scrolling through Amazon looking for deals but I'd never find anything major anyway.

I noticed this too, only tangentially because my Instagram is full of ads today. Things that I’ve bought or normally buy can be found at other stores for less.
The hype really sucks people in. Then we wonder why we, collectively, have debt and clutter problems.
This is a good reminder. The FOMO/peer pressure to buy is real.
I checked my cart and only one thing I have saved was actually cheaper. Very disappointing. I'm trying to keep myself from scrolling and looking for stuff to buy. If I didn't need it before, I don't need it today.
For years I've been underwhelmed with the "deals" Prime Day advertises. It's very easy for me to take a hard pass.
Now the Nordstrom Sale...that's an entirely different thing.
I’ve never shopped the Nordstrom sale because I don’t shop at Nordstrom. This year there are some bras I want to try and get. Being that I can’t shop until the 17th, how likely am I to get them? Do things mostly sell out before the general public get access?
We’ll be on a road trip so I’ll be shopping from my car lol wondering if it’s even worth it

I've been able to get bras at the public sale in previous years.
But if you don't mind, I would just get a card so you can shop early. They usually have a deal for nordstrom bucks for new cardholders.
Yes! I also always check camelcamelcamel.com to see if it's actually a good price. You just copy and paste the URL in its super easy. Prime day use to get me esp in the early baby days.

I didn't shop Prime Day but I did need other stuff from other stores trying to compete with Amazon - and THOSE were actually good deals I hadn't seen recently.
