You must start exercising. As soon as you get home, go get the id for the gyms your employment provides access to and get off your fat, anxious ass. You know the only thing that really helps your anxiety is exercise. Do you like feeling this way, like everything is a looming critical disaster? No? Then get your lazy butt on a treadmill.
I am glad all the dorm drama worked out. It sucks the roommate you haven't even met asks you to switch rooms with her friend 1 month before moving date. So I don't blame you for not wanting to live with her. But now somehow you landed in a 4 bedroom apartment with a rooftop pool and hot tub with a good friend and 2 other girls you like and with a full kitchen. So you landed in a better place.
Dear Wp,
I am freaking out. I just signed her lease yesterday. I did the math and with a reduced meal plan, the apartment and dorm shake out about the same. But I feel like somehow, something is going to creap up and kick my butt with this financially. I called my financial advisor, CPA, housing, financial aid and they all said my 529 would pay for this. But it still freaks me out to spend this money. But I am relieved to be dropping her off with friends and her being excited to go.

Dear DD1,
I am working. If I am interviewing new employees and I say “I will be interviewing people for the next 3 hours, do you need anything?” Do not text me 15 minutes into that to ask 3 times for me to approve an app for your phone. I am not looking at my texts. That would be rude and you are annoying me.
Love, Mama
Dear DD1,
Thank you for doing such a good job with your chores this week. This summer is working out pretty okay. Yes, you may now have your friend over.
Dear buyers, You are really getting on my nerves. Last week you tried to change the closing at the last minute, then switched back. And now, two days before closing, you tell me I need to remove the swingset in the backyard because you don't want it. So now beau and I have to find a truck to borrow so we can disassemble and remove a big wooden swing set and figure out what to do with it. You couldn't have told me this sometime in the last 30 days?! You knew it was there when you signed the purchase and sales agreement! Signed, Can't wait to be done with this process
Dear beau, You're making my heart melt this week. Who wants to "practice putting rings on each other" before the ceremony? You're such a sap. I can't wait to marry you on Saturday! I feel like a teenager! Love, Wife To Be
twinmomma are you part of your local Buy Nothing group. I would post there and say it's free to someone who can come get it.
Great minds.. I was going to suggest the same thing. twinmomma, at least around here, it's likely you can also get someone to come disassemble it.. we've found for stuff that people will have to reassemble at home, they prefer taking it apart so they can tell how to put it back together.
rere, I think you've prepared for your daughter's expenses as well as possible. My kids are several years away from college still, so I don't have an insider's perspective on students' living situations yet. My sister's oldest son graduated college last year. BIL and sister paid for most of his living expenses. Unexpected things do come up and you have to just go with it. However, at least for my nephew, the unexpected incidents were few and far between. I think some of them can be teachable moments for the kids: eg. The washing machine is broken, how will you deal? Especially if your landlord is out of town for two weeks.(The answer is NOT have your parents call a washing machine repair guy....no, kid, you do that then communicate with your landlord) I'm so glad she ended up in a better place!!!

Dear DS,
I love you to the moon and back, but must you always have one problem after another?
Signed, Resigned mom
Dear Mother,
Yes, I know DS's latest issue is concerning. And yes, I already have an appointment with our doctor. I'm on top of it. Your constant comments are not helpful.

Thanks for the idea! I didn't know if anyone would actually bother to do that. I'll list it today and see what happens. If not, my brother is showing up with his pick up truck and some tools tonight to help us get it apart.

Sometimes you won't believe what people want if it is free or cheap. Someone hauled off our old trampoline on a trailer still totally assembled and hanging off the sides of a trailer. Totally illegal I'm sure, but off he went.

DH is constantly surprised by the stuff people will take. His first instinct is to throw everything out. Which is easier. But man, one pic, one post, picking someone and setting stuff on the porch isn’t much harder.
Dear anyone who is watching me, This week IS a vacation for me. I have one kid at sleep-away camp and the other is at a day camp she loves. I am not working and have the days to myself. H is busy with work and not bothering me. On many "vacations" I'm refereeing the daughters and/or the husband AND the daughters. Since H likes to travel with his family, I am likewise doing everything I can to set the Ds up for successful behavior in front of their grandparents.....with DD1, this is a recent challenge. I'm usually stressed about a work project and drained because I don't have any time to myself unless I wake up before dawn. This week, I am getting up at my usual time. I have to get DD2 to her camp each morning. I listen to a book on Audible when I drive back home by MYSELF. I do chores, read and exercise between pick up and drop off. I pick up a tired but happy kid. She's in bed willingly by 9 each night (except for a mini-battle last night, but I digress). DD1 can call home each day but is opting not to. Her bestie's mom texted me yesterday after talking with her daughter. The girls are having fun . That's it. I'm not tired because of lack of sleep nor am I emotionally drained. Everyone but H is happy. 3 out of 4 of us being happy is better than most vacations, so I'll take it. WP's - we had three AMAZING trips - one to Europe, one to the tropics and one to Tucson - in 2022. Not all go-away vacations for us are lame, but lately, they haven't pulled their weight. Peace Out- The lady who looks like she's just doing mom things but is really loving her REAL vacation
Dear Mom, It was good talking with you last night. I know we don't always see eye to eye. I also know that helping move one of your best friends to assisted care is both a relief and a source of sadness for you. I know. It's life and you're doing the right thing. Love, Black Sheep
These buyers are killing me. They just informed me that they want me to take down the cabinets that are hanging in the basement. They want it "totally cleaned out." WTF. These are old kitchen cabinets that have been hanging down there for storage since I moved in 12 years ago! So I just tracked down some movers that we used to unload this house and am paying them to go over there this afternoon, take it all apart, and bring it to the new house where we will throw it in the shed until we have a plan to deal with it.
This is totally what I have time to be dealing with today... You bought a super cheap fixer upper and waived all inspections. Just take it!!!
Me: We're early. That means I'll be at work early. DD: Is that a good thing? Me: Sure! When you love your job, every day is fun. DD: Don't you hate your job? Me: Exactly. Rando behind us: That conversation did not go where I was expecting it to...
twinmomma , I agree with mommyatty . I understand the ask about the play structure in the backyard, but the cabinets are attached, and therefore fixtures. You can run these things by your agent to see if they're things that you NEED to do or things that they just want you to do.
Also, not saying you SHOULD be worrying about it, but cabinets are another thing someone would likely pick up off the BNG. People will take just about anything.
twinmomma - those are fixtures. Tell them no! They’re asking you basically to pay for their demo costs.
That's what I was hoping, but my realtor said to just get rid of them. They also did their final walk through a week and a half before closing and were mad we still had a couple things in the house like a shop vac that we had been using to clean the place up. They sent pictures to my realtor demanding that it be gone. WTF.
twinmomma- the first house we sold, the buyers asked us to have the freaking windows cleaned. After having made a gazillion other requests. Our realtor finally told us to just say we wouldn’t do anything else unless they paid us more for the house. We did not pay to have the windows cleaned, fwiw.
Dear Thursday Why are you acting like a Monday? Signed not in the mood for lots of phone calls and people randomly stopping in to see us
Dear DD It was so amazing to watch you walk into Get Air last night and have all the confidence in the world to do back tuck after back tuck into the foam pit. Now could you take that confidence to the gym tonight? Mom who loved your big ass smile last night
Why in the name of God did you put a button on the back of the neck of this thing AND a tie around the waist? Are you mad, sir? (And I know only a dude would have done this.)
Signed, Lady Who Pees 50 Times a Day
Dear Self,
You pee 50 times a day. Don’t buy rompers that make it hard to do that.
mommyatty I bought the cutest athletic golf/tennis dress with bike type shorts under it and pockets on clearance yesterday. I was super excited, until I had to use the restroom. I still love it, but I am going to have to not hold it even a little if I want to get this thing down in time.
