We were in a fender bender on Friday, it’s the third time we have been hit while STATIONARY 🤬. I’m so irritated because it’s my last week of summer vacation and I’m having to deal with insurance and car repair shops and it’s such a time suck.
I’m also (if all goes well) moving my mom from her memory care facility to a different place tomorrow. It’s a lot and I just wanted to do nothing for at least one day this week! 😩
But, overall, it’s been a nice summer, so I’ll try to be “glass half full” today!
I woke up with a very mild headache thinking it would go away. I'm at the office now and my head is screaming and I have no medicine with me. Sometimes caffeine can knock out my headache so I'm currently sipping on my Americano and praying.
My kids told my exH this weekend that they want me to have full custody with no set visitation, no schedule, so they just see him randomly whenever they want to basically. Between that and the fact that I filed for Child Support, I think that he might actually be losing his mind. He told my 15 y/o that he has until Friday to get some of things out of the house. So, that's cool. Fingers crossed now that he actually knows what the kids want, he'll agree to settle. He should've taken my initial offer which was 1 night during the week and every other weekend. He wanted an extra night and I wouldn't budge, and now he gets nothing. Too bad, so sad. I just hope that a judge will sign off on it.
Doctor recommended cutting any artificial sweetner (goodbye splenda in my coffee), almost no dairy, adding a probiotic and fiber. So I'm starting the fiber this morning and WFH. Sugar in coffee is gross, I hope I get used to it.

Do they want you to have no fun in life at all? I’m sorry, I’m also a Splenda in coffee person. Real sugar DOES stink. Can you try a liquid sugar? My problem is the sugar not dissolving as beautifully as my sweet chemicals. Can you try monkfruit sweetener? That comes in packets and is similar to Splenda to me.
I applied for an internal posting and got the job. Yeah me. I feel a little weird because I’ve only been here 6 months and I wonder if others applied that have been there longer and if they’ll be upset. It’s nothing fabulous, a small bump in pay and I move up a level for my role (currently level 2, I’ll go to a level 3) -it’s more that I’m actually interested in the job and two separate people came to me and said they thought I’d be great in the role and suggested I apply. They’re still working out the transition details but it’s the same hours, same schedule-I’ll just sit in a different part of the office on our in office days and take different kinds of cases/calls.
Im so frigging nervous about all of this, I don’t know why.

We went out for our anniversary last night, and boy my 6am workout was a struggle today. But once again so glad I feel accountable to show up and glad I did it!
Oh and I work a dress last night I haven't worn in 4 years (also for our anniversary lol). Haven't lost any weight, but crazy what two months of strength training can do.
Other than that, just wishing it was still the weekend and not ready for another busy week at work.
lilafowler, I may try a liquid sugar. I honestly don't think it's my diet that's causing the distress, but it's only for a month. I'm keeping a food journal and I really do eat the same things over and over, but I'll have the data for my in person appt end of the month.

July flew by, I can't believe tomorrow is August. This week I'd like to get all school supply shopping done and make sure DS has all the football equipment/gear he needs. (All he should need now are new gloves and he is going to try on a size bigger for shoulder pads, since his shoulder pads from last year look slight small.) Both kids have picked out the tops they want to wear for school pictures.

3 days till the first day of school. Taking DD to a matinee of the Barbie movie today. Then I have a few errands to run and DS1's cc practices switch to pm today so I'll have to fit drop off/pick up in there too. One of DH's employees retires tomorrow and today is his party. I did all the prep for it, so hope it goes well.
School uniforms are going to kill me this year. My 10yo is such an odd fit. I have ordered pants from no less than 5 places and we still don't have pants.
Our neighbors are getting a new roof. The work started at 6:15 this morning. Not a fun way to wake up.
I'm not really mad. Our neighbor warned us yesterday. No one gets a roof for fun and it is insanely hot so the earlier the better for the guys actually doing the work. Still. 6:15?!

I would have argued that coffee with splenda was something I'd had every morning for years so that clearly couldn't be the cause of any recent onset GI issues. I need my coffee with splenda (plus half and half).
I spent most of the day outside yesterday and was rewarded with a huge big bite right in the crease where my left butt cheek meets my thigh. Let me tell you, NOT A GREAT PLACE to constantly be itching. I might need to go find some of that Burt’s Bees stuff that was posted yesterday.
Tonight FI and I are going to dinner in the city at a restaurant where it is near impossible to get reservations. This was the only thing he wanted for his birthday (which was back in May, so that should tell you how difficult it is, lol) so I really hope he loves it. This place gets great reviews. I feel like I should be looking forward to it more than I am. Philly area ladies, have any of you been to Laser Wolf? I really feel like I’m not the proper levels of pumped that we’re having dinner there tonight.

I was excited to spend some one on one time with dd this week because ds is at marching band camp from 8 AM to 8 PM from m-f. And this is basically our last week of summer. I had all kinds of fun ideas for things for us to do. And she woke up with a cold and just wants to hang in her room.
We're at the halfway point for summer break. So fa the summer's going great, but I fear the last few week will fly by. DD will be sad when camp is over, but then she has 4 weeks of travelling/ vacation, so that will be fun. I'm a little nervous about her starting HS this year. I think she is very nervous, but doesn't really talk about it. The school she's going to was her top choice and seems like a perfect fit, but it's still a huge change. She'll start off not knowing anyone and adjusting to a daily commute, in addition to all the HS stuff. I think it will go well, but I'm still really anxious.

My poor little dude is still so sick. Paracetamol AND ibuprofen is barely touching his fever. It’s still 39.7 (103.5). So I called the doctor and they will see him. We need to try to somehow catch some pee to test for a UTI. 🙃
I also had a check up today and as I suspected I need to do the GD test again because the baby’s belly was measuring 97%. 😭😭 I hate that test.

I'm truly at my wit's end with this, so I figured a could give it a month. Everything upsets my stomach in some way lately and I put it off when my Dad was having his health stuff, but DH was on me to take care of myself.
I am on day 1 of my period so I am in the "depths of despair" with my feelings. Looking forward to the hormone shift that needs to happen in the next 24 hours so I can feel human again.
Also a rant about cycles in your 40s. For the past 4 months my cycle has extended out to around 33 days. I was JUST getting used to it. But this cycle is 27 days long. WTFWTFWTF- That means I had two fucking periods in July. Two times this month I have had to feel these feelings and feel these fucking cramps. I have had my workout schedule disrupted twice in July. It is rude and not fair.
As usual the weekend went by too fast, but this week starts the series of 6 weeks where I have at least one day off.
I went to a woodworking/project workshop on Sat with a friend and we had such a good time! I made a tray with handles and a really cool stencil on the base. We went to a brewery afterwards neither of us have been to, and the food was so good. Definitely going back there again.
My H and I went to the zoo yesterday morning and spent a few hours walking around. That was the best time to go (when it opened) because tons of people were filing in as we were leaving. I spent the afternoon cooking for 2 meal trains and was able to get some reading in while sitting outside. It was finally tolerable to be outside; I've missed it!
ssmjlm, can you do coffee without any sweetener. I dropped sugar to lose some weight years ago and have never been able to go back to the old sugared coffee or hot tea. Iced tea though? Gimme all the simple syrup.
dreamcrisp1, good luck with your test and I hope your LO feels better soon.
abs, ouch. That's early. I find myself irrationally irritated by the lawn service companies who start before our HOA's 8am rule. NOt enough to go all Karen on them with a letter campaign, but outside of a heat wave it's not reasonable.
arielroux, I've not eaten at Lazer Wolfe, but the menu does overlap Zahav's a great deal. I've enjoyed meals I've had there a lot. The salatim alone is worth the visit-- it is amazing. The one weak spot, for me, is the wine and beer menu. At Zahav it's very middle eastern-centric and while it's interesting to try different wine from lesser-known vineyards these aren't always to my taste. Lazer Wolfe's list seems to be a bit broader which is good. Their cocktails are great.
Our cable went out last night. Rectifying this always falls to me-- the woman who didn't own a TV until I married and who wanted to finish a novel I'd been plodding through. I'd tried rebooting and when I reached out to Comcast, I got turfed to a chatbot that required me to do that again and wait an hour before talking to a live person which meant a callback just as I put dinner on the table. It took another hour of testing and signal tests to get the damned thing working. Had it not, they were offering a technician with priority scheduling in 4 days. DH's head would explode.
My sister and BIL got to town yesterday! We went over to her long time BFF's house, who we realized only lives 25 minutes from here. She and her H are lovely so I hope we can hang out again sometime, though they are in the thick of raising little kids (1 and 4 years old) so I'm not sure how well that will work. I don't mind being around well behaved children, which hers are, but my H isn't really a kid person at all so I know I will never convince him to want to hang out as couples. But maybe she and I could meet up for something on our own sometime.
I won't see my sister today because they are staying in DC last night/tonight but we are going to meet them there tomorrow and then bring them back to our house to stay for the next 2 nights. Today I need to get the house in order for guests. And work, lol. But at least I'm home so I can do laundry and little things here and there throughout the day, then finish up in the evening.
I also looked at the concert tickets I got for this Wednesday, and the ink has faded really badly so I guess I need to go over to the box office today and have them reprinted. I should have just had them emailed to me instead of printed when I bought them, I guess. I never would have expected the ink to fade though!

If you are a candidate, my endometrial ablation was some of the best money spent ever. No bleeding since 2015. I maybe have one moody day a month, but no cramps. I know not all get these results, but plenty do and if not many at least have shorter periods.
DD noticed some water dripping from the ceiling in the basement at midnight last night. So, that was fun.
I will give her credit for being excellent help. We cleared out that side of the basement, bagged wet stuff, dried the area, and put down buckets to catch the drips. It’s slow but definitely steady.
I hope the plumber can find the leak and do a repair without too much trouble. I’m worried.
School uniforms are going to kill me this year. My 10yo is such an odd fit. I have ordered pants from no less than 5 places and we still don't have pants.
This is me with my (almost) 8 year old! So frustrating! I’m trying target today because they have some we haven’t tried.

Will they let you do glucose monitoring for a week instead of the test? I could do that for 2 of my pregnancies instead of the juice.

Someone finally came to fix our dryer that we've been without for 10 days and ummmm, nothing was wrong with the dryer. As I kind of suspected it was the breaker, because the dryer stopped working after we had some electrical work done. We did try flipping the switch and pressing the test button but it still didn't work. Somehow the repair person was able to get it going though. Happy to be done dragging wet laundry to the laundromat to dry.
Tonight we have the P!nk concert at Fenway! I'm excited but I'm tired from the weekend too, hope I have some adreneline to get me through tonight!

Sugar In The Raw Cane Sugar Liquid is good in drinks! I know when I’ve had stomach issues they always said no “alternative” sugars like monk fruit.
