I posted in the Monday thread as I’m on a rare good streak now. . I’ve been debating starting up a box again but they take too long and aren’t as flexible as I want and I can make easier better things on my own it just takes slightly more effort but probably less time overall.
Sun - grilled chicken and pasta salad Mon - pork and pineapple stir fry Tues - Burgers and leftover pasta salad Wednesday - skillet salsa chicken Thursday - leftovers/brinner Friday - snack plates or pizza
sandandsea, I have concluded the boxes are never going to make me happy.
Sun- DS picked takeout tacos for his last night of summer vacation. Mon- goulash (Recipe Rebel’s Homemade Hamburger Helper) at DD’s request. Tues- DD has a back to school social, so takeout Wed- DD is getting a haircut in the evening, so probably takeout again unless DH steps up. Thurs- something involving chicken. Maybe sliders. Fri- snacks for dinner
It has been over 100 degrees here for I don’t even know how many days in a row. It’s miserable and I hate it and I’m about to be a climate refugee and move somewhere like Maine.
Sun: burgers and hot dogs Mon: sheet pan chicken fajitas Tues: out for my mom’s birthday Wed: DH is traveling so… probably nothing ? Thurs: tacos? Fri: marinated sirloin tips, mashed potatoes, salad.
Whelp, I caught the grill on fire. Thankfully I was able to shut off the gas, didn’t open it, and didn’t burn anything (house, patio, deck, dinner) but not such a great start. My mesquite marinated chicken was then cooked on the stove which isn’t the same.
Ironically a dad on the soccer team did the same this weekend but burned his arm as his whole propane tank was in the fire and he tried to close the gas valve there.

mommyatty, I have a friend on the Maine coast and it’s sounding pretty good rn.
I also don’t find meal kits helpful. If a meal isn’t heat & serve, I may as well just cook dinner. Meal planning isn’t my problem it’s getting the actual cooking done in a timely manner.
It’s DD1’s night to cook. She has sporadic cooking night during the summer but has committed to taco Tuesdays during the school year. I’m excited about the many dd-provided tacos I am to eat this year.

I posted in the other thread, but I’ll repost here. We had air fryer wings, brocolli and potatoes last night. Tonight is DD’s tacos. I have plans for grilled chicken on summer salad, smoked sausage and lentil soup with some kind of muffin, Friday H and I are going out to dinner and it’ll be leftovers or takeout for the kiddos.
It's kind of been an off week with dd going Wednesday.
Monday and Tuesday- we meal prepped both barbecue pork and a large pot of chili. Dd requested the chili before she leaves. Dh will make pork sandwiches. I will eat whatever I feel like.
Wednesday move in day- out. Thursday- meeting some friends at the local bar and grill for a tear in my beer pizza dinner after the move.
Change of plans. Dd went to my mom's last week to learn how to make homemade cathead biscuits and gravy so she wanted to cook that tonight. So we had breakfast for supper on her last night before college.

I'm tired of feeding people right now, sooo not much effort on my end this week.
Sun: out for dinner for DS b-day at local seafood place (so delish!) Mon: frozen pizza just me & DS at home Tues: homemade lasagna that my mom made for us, garlic bread. Wed: leftover lasagna Thurs: no clue, I hope DH cooks. Fri: no clue, pizza or takeout probably.

After catching the grill on fire, the next evening I started a fire on the stove. I pulled out a pan from our drawer and didn’t realize a Twizzler package had stuck to the bottom of it. So that burning smell was a flaming twizzler. Thankfully I was able to take care of it quickly but I swear I’m usually not this accident prone!!!
